Requesting ex software engrs and software engrs to share their mba experience.
- if you are a software engg person who is applying for mba, please post your profile
- if you are a software engg person who has/had gotten an admit, please post your profile
- if you are a software engg person who has gotten a reject from some schools, please post your profile.
- if you were a software engg person and have completed or are close to completing your mba, please tell us what your experiences was like (challenges faced due to software exp/opportunities generated due to software exp/future job role)

The idea is to increase everyone's understanding of what it takes for software engrs to get in (as far as job roles and work profile is concerned).

Software is a wide wide wide field with lots of different job roles and lots of different industries- Product development, project experience, research, consulting, technical support, sales engineering, startups, IT etc. Also, Job profile is one of the most important factor in mba admits. we often hear admission directors use words like "unique", "interesting", "leadership roles", "customer and business exposure". What have people done so that their software work ex can be considered deserving of such beautiful adjectives?

Incredible..
I understand you want to gather an understanding of what it takes to go to a B-school from an IT job, however, please use the search function in the forum or the newbie guide. There's a lot of info on these topics in various threads.

You're spot on when you say that Software engineering is very very broad term. Everyone here has a different role to play and different background. Take time to search the Admits 2007, Chicago GSB Admit and the 2008 app thread. You'll make a lot of friends in there
