And for the record- the TNS TOI ranking was done completely by our team- right from filling the forms, getting the data and sending them to the TNS folks. And we (the students) didnt pay them a single rupee for it- we just gave them facts and data they wanted.

Dunno about other colleges or the methodologies used- lets just say that its a stepping stone for our college and a well deserved spot among the top 25 b schools in India.

My two cents- I think every aspirant should compare colleges based on concrete facts instead of referring to random rankings.
The handful of rankings that I have come across are so diverse from one another that it is almost impossible to believe any of these. Barring the top 10-15 institutes, the rest of any given list is completely different from the next one.

The major points to consider are the alumni base, the faculty members, core academic structure, placement packages, academic+extra curricular activities happening within the institute etc. Anyone can feel free to pitch in and add anything that I have missed.

I understand that it's easier to look at a list instead of unearthing every bit of information regarding a particular college but if you have converted calls from a handful of institutes, it's better to do your homework before making a decision.

Do these surveys focus more on the human element (students' satisfaction level pertaining to various facets of the institute; viz. faculty, placements, infrastructure, etc) or is the focus on concrete facts and figures (the placement packages, student ratio, how qualified the core faculty members are, etc)

I'm curious

Slot ke din beetey re bhaiya, ab GD/PI ka result aayo re
@k2013 ; @nikhilbrad I feel that if the data is made available to the aspirants then it will not only help them decide but also portray a strong picture of this institute because i feel that alumni of this institute are influential people and right now are making difference in this corporate world.......:)

@nikhilbrad I have financial constraints.If I get admission, will the education loan pose any difficulty in campus.

@k2013 There are many people in the first year and second yr who have come in with educational loans . I cant see them having any difficulty in campus .So dont think there is any reason for you to worry on that note.
@dilipmathew : Thanks

I've already sent the scanned stamped admit card by e-mail to sibm-b but still haven't received any confirmation regarding the same.

Plz guide me what to do as I've already signed the letter regarding the same during GD-PI that my admission is subjected to be cancelled if the authority doesn't approve it.
@nikhilbrad @kssrisha1989
And plz throw some light on cancellation policy.As SCMHRD is saying that they will cut 31k (30k i.e. pre induction program +1k cancellation charges) if the admission is cancelled b4 commencement of d program.
Is SIBM-B is also charging that much higher amt. of cancellation charges??

If you have already sent the scanned copy, its fine! Just make sure you have sent it to [email protected].

Regarding the cancellation policy, it is as per the university+institute's norms. The 31 k you mentioned is the 30 k for the online pre-induction program + 1k max amount that is approved by UGC/AICTE.

The PIP is rendered by a 3rd party- the moment you get a username and password to access the content, it is considered as sold to you by them. So, that amount is non-refundable. Hope you understand this...
@atul_leo

No college website gives details about their alumni. Alumni have a different internal portal where we can all connect or through FB and other social media platforms. Giving away details of alumni is giving out private information about them.

Symbeat is available on the website because it is the student-run college magazine, giving you some insight about college life in general.

If I've purchased that pre induction course browser from scmhrd and my SIBM-B will get converted as well then if I wana join SIBM-B then won't SCMHRD transfer my 30K(Preinduction course fees) to SIBM???

@nikhilbrad @kshitijsharma
@nikhilbrad @kssrisha1989 Hello.. When is the SIBM-B Convert List coming out?

Yes they would... If there is a diff in the fee charged for the same, it shall be paid to you/charged to you as applicable.
@kshitijsharma with due respect to the college process but I feel that most of the top B schools shares the data of illustrious alumni on the website with the aspirants........
