9am to 10 am document verification
there were 24 candidates. my number was 20 so have to wait till 3pm for my turn
there was 3people, 1 lady and 2 gentleman.
Questions:
1. tell strength and failure of IBM (as i am working there)
2. then why do you want to quit such a reputed organisation and join RBI (said something something like growth opportunites are good)
3. my nature of job in IBM
3.but if you join rbi the engineering knowledge you gained for these years will be a waste(in mind i thought i dint gain anything like that, but just blabber something something like i will use those things to make my work more proficient in rbi until he was tired and moved to next question)
4. asked why pondicherry (as i was from pondicherry) is requesting permission to become a state from union territory.(said somethng something like administrative independence)
5. what are bitcoin
6. what is GDP, how to measure it, how does our economy was contribution from various sector.
7. he asked why then you want to leave service sector which is contributing more than 60% to the GDP and come to banking sector (i said banking was also a part of service)
8. But RBI is just an regulating body why dont you join a commerical bank and be in the service (bluff something something like i want to a part of rbi and direct the commercial bank and make for their proper working and thereby making bank and economy more stable).
and he said you may leavee, i thank them and left. i was stumbling in the middle at many a times coz of my nervousness combined with my poor fluency in english. it was an average interview for me.

Interview. BBSR
Started with Two Oriya Words. Need to explain meaning of that. Some were asked to write the words.
Interview full of Economic stuff. All answer are in detail including full explanation, why, how, if not this then what will happen all the things.
1. Inflation. How it affects economy. Current policy rates and relation between policy rate and inflation. How common man is affected because of this ....... and more and more discussion on this
2. Total forex reserve of India. What all included in Forex reserve. Why we need to have forex reserve. If we dont have enough forex reserve what will be the impact....... more and more discussion on this.
3. Explain Greece crisis. What happened with Greece and why ??
4. Explain China crisis in detail ? Middle Income Syndrome and all everything ........
5. what is Fiscal policy and Monetary Policy ? Difference between them? Why we need these policies ??
6. What is Balance of Trade and Balance of Payment ?
7. Payment Banks. How many have been given license. What is your view on them.
My view was they may not survive hence i was told to explain why. The RD said since big shot corporate are involved how can you say they will not survive explain, If they think it is not viable why will they invest on it.
8. How do you feel the services provided by banks. What all improvement do you foresee. What more needs to be done.
It looked like a long affair. I was the last candidate to be interviewed for the day. Every time i was hoping this will end now but there is always a new topic to discuss. Anyways felt happy that i was able to explain everything well.
Only Question not able to answer was % of contribution of Crude Oil towards India's Import Bill.
Lets see. How it goes.

It started with hobbies,family background and then full of economic stuff.Questions relating to economic stuff were on monetary policy in india,nbfc,repo rate,slr etc

who are the two board of directors appointed by finance ministry to RBI?
Please tell me about BASEL norms viz 1,2,3 and the capital requirement to comply with BASEL 3 norms. In that please explain the types of risks and the weight age they carry. Looking for a good source too.
**According to RBI Act, this is given -
The Central Board shall consist of the following Directors, namely:-
(a) a Governor and [not more than four] Deputy Governors to be appointed by the Central Government;
(b) four Directors to be nominated by the Central Government, one from each of the four Local Boards as constituted by section 9;
(c) [ten] Directors to be nominated by the Central Government; and
(d) [two Government officials] to be nominated by the Central Government;]
So 1+4+4+10+2 = 21.
** Now, according to RBI website, 10 Central board of Directors are mentioned.
So, does it mean that these figures in the act state maximum number of directors which could be appointed? OR I am missing something big?

2).Tell me what u did after graduation?
3).Tell me in what way people and country are getting benefitted from Financial system(like banks,financial institutions.NBFC etc..,)?
4).As i am from ECE background one lady interviewer asked what is the difference between electronics and communication?
5).What is a monetary policy?And who implements monetary policy in india?
6).At last RBI HYD REGIONAL DIRECTOR asked one question i.e., recently RBI gave licenses to some banks what are they and what are the differences between them?And is it necessary to give licenses to all those banks even though we are having so many number of banks?Tell me ur view on that?

Yes Bro,
I also saw the man. His height was almost 6'2 and appeared to be mean. He was mysteriously interested in a lady candidate. He was asking too much questions to her. I also heard him say, "Meet me after the interview" to the lady.
Oh yes before the start of the interview he had given strict warning not to talk with anyone before and after the interview got over. He also said that he would take in writing if he caught anybody talking.
After my interview got over I went straight home as I caught the first train from CST to my place 190 km away and I have reached now.

Interview:
Panel members- 2 Ladies, 2 Males (Total 4)
Medium of Interview- 90% English and 10% local language i.e Marathi [Note- No newspaper reading or writing. Just conversation]
Lady 1 was dominant in asking questions.
1. Lady 1 asked me about personal details starting from paternal related to maternal related
2. Then asked me the purpose for applying to an assistant's post. She was continuously trying to prove that an officer's post in commercial banks is better than an assistant's in Rbi. So I stated that Rbi is one of the apex organizations and I want to work with the best and the brightest. There was a little laughter from the panel side and she told not necessarily you will work with the best and the brightest. Then she asked me about other regulators. So IRDA, SEBI, PFRDA....
3. Then she asked me who regulates mutual funds. I said SEBI. But now when I am checking the web- it says SEBI and or RBI. RBI in case the AMC is promoted by the bank. But I didn't know at that time so I stated what I knew.
4. Then she went through the details of my past employer and next questions were about it.
5. Now the lady asked my about Developmental role of RBI. I told PSL (Priority Sector Lending) and gave info about it.
6. Then she asked me about recent developmental role in banks. I wanted to answer Small and Payment Banks but overall answered Financial Inclusion.
7. So the next question was what is the purpose of Financial Inclusion? I said taking the banking and allied activities to the rural areas. Then she corrected me that it involves rural as well as urban areas. I listened.
Lady 1 stopped here.
Male 1 started questioning
1. Tell me more about PSL. I told. Then again he asked what new changes have been made. I told Agriculture is now aggregated to 'Agriculture and allied activities'. But he yet again asked what more? So I said that educational and housing loan limits have been revised under the PSL. But he insisted more on something. He hinted that two specific activities. I said I don't know as I didn't want to answer anything wrong or fake answers. So he corrected stating that Social Infrastructure and Renewable energy has been introduced. I knew this but it didn't click at that moment.
Then Male 2 started asking question in Local language. They were more or less about my past employer. My past employer was an IT company which developed applications for banks and I was at their corporate office implementing it. So they were interested in that.

Overall an okay interview.

Hey can u guys help me in one query.. M doing job in pvt. Sector...actually its semi govt. .. And its a project based job and temporary job... And its been only 2 months I joined it... !! So my question is ..I didnt mention about it anywhere..neither in application form nor in the other forms which we sent...so if i'll say that m a fresher, there won't be any prob na? I didnt mentioned in forms cz I thought atleast 6 months experience should be there to mention..!
