Personal/Career/CAT-job Dilemma Queries : A Repository

hey,
i need some opinion on this query.

i have completed engineering this year.
i'm joining nba institute. i want to know few things.

i wish to go for CWA. can anyone tell me the job profiles offered after CWA. wat salary one gets after completion?

do i need to articleship for clearing CWA levels. wat type of training is reqd for CWA?

can i clear two levels during mba itself? will it add some weight to my resume?

for holding a charter later can i show work-ex post mba?

can someone guide with fees and exam dates.

Not able to understand terms like training exemption or articleship exemption. wat is this computer training? is it mandatory?

hi bro ,
i for one feel leaving a job should be one's last option . As i have seen many who end up joining lower grade colleges due to no other options . Its just not about justifying a gap but its also about a contingency plan .

But if you feel that you cant balance your job and studies at all. Then you may leave your job. I was in a similar situation last year as you are right now ,but i decided not to quit .

Hope you make the right decision for yourself . All d best

Contigency Plan :-If i dont do well in exams, i think of finding a new job in march. What say about this. Will this work?

How can i justify about my quitting of job, when asked in an interview? Any one with similar experience , please reply.

Regards,

Andy.

hii everybody,
this is my first post on pg........I hope you can help me out with this.

My profile.
2 yrs work exp -steel industry.
B.E (ECE) 73.42%
12th 73.69%
10th 71.4%

CAT 2008 85.xx %ile
CAT 2009 85.54 %ile (quants :97%ile Di : 55.82%ile ,VA :70.20%ile )

I am looking forward to leave my current job and join some good coaching institute as FACULTY(quants).I am sure i would get such kind of job.i believe i would then be able to concentrate fully on CAT and related exams.it is my last try for CAT.I have been trying for past 3 years.I am aiming high for some decent college.

the job is real frustrating.the actual profile goes like this (I am electronics nd comm grad stuck in metallurgy ........In gud times cleared IIT-JEE mains couple of yrs back...)

Here at my place you inhale lots and lots of dust while working (sooner or later my sneeze's would turn in asthama ...;D).rush,jump,climb ....
stand under waterfall to replace some idiotic sensor...clean instruments in a place like hell.technology is obsolete here and won't fetch me a job in other good companies even if i put my efforts here and At the end of the day i find myself drenched with sweat ,dust....but most imp unlearned man.

1.Is it a good decision to leave the job??

I know teaching exp. won't impress PI panel.....but still i think i shud give a last try in this way. Please guide.

Hi everyone...I have a query and i posted it on another thread...but i dint get an appropriate reply:-(....i know this mite not be the right thread but if anyone can help me..please.......i am a btech cse 2010 passout...i got into TCS ITIS(IT Infrastructure management)domain...honestly,i dont know what it is....some people say it does'nt really need a btech as qualification....the TCS people also took ba,bsc for the same post but with a much lesser salary...the package that v have been offered is 3.15 pa...v hav night shifts in this post...

i want to build a career in software development...ppl say ITIS is a very monotonous job..is it right to say that its better to get experience in sw dev rather than ITIS in the long run??i have no clear cut idea about both...also,is it possible to change our domain after some period of time in TCS itself??do dey allow that??

i am soooo confused....can anyone help me..??is anyone out there who's working in TCS and who knows what im talkin about??all replies are welcome...

how much an MBA get???

Hi everyone,
I have done my B. Tech in bio-informatics from a reputed university with 7.25 CGPA. Now working with TCS since last December. I 'm very much interested in Mastering business studies and i badly wanted to work in some management positions. Wrote cat 2009 with minimal preparation I managed to score only 73percentile. Now I'm in a big dilemma whether to go for CAT now or to wait for another 2 years, continue working with TCS for work experience and then proceed to CAT. Which option would be best suited for me?? Moreover right now I'm into IT but I have got no big flair for it. Having said that which branch of management study would be most suitable for me??? i was interested in HR but many of my senior believe that 2 years of work exp in an IT company would make no sense to the institutions when I apply for MBA. So I'm scared to chose that as well now. please suggest me the best branch of management. Please give in your valuable information as it would be really helpful for me to shape my career.
Q1) Is it good for me to go far CAT and MBA now or to work for 2 years and then think about it?
Q2) Which branch of management would suit me the best?

it's a big question

and it depends on the college and your caliber.....normally from a good college u will get in range of......6-15lakhs......

a college can give 15 lakh but the same college can give 5 also....so it's all upto you....mr. silentstriker......

Hi, this is very subjective and based on many things,

1) Your academic background
2) Your College of graduation and post graduation
3) Your specialization
4) Performance in MBA, internship, interview
5) Work experience and the company where worked
6) Company for which applied
7) The global scenario or job market.

Hey bro,

As i can make out from your job profile , its very physically demanding , and you also dont see a future in the same field. If you feel , this job will hamper your preparation and you can't balance the two. Then u can take the decision of quiting, although , i suggest everyone not to quit so as to have some back up.

Bro dont worry about justification of quiting a job , always be honest with your answer , you can justify your case , if you truly believe what you did was best for your interest

Right now think about , whether , you can prepare and continue with the current job

Secondly , do you see any future and interest in the field you are currently working in

Thirdly , are you ready to face the scenario of not getting into a desired B-School this year and have to try another year(this is worst case scenario offcourse)

Hope you make the right decision for yourself, All d best 😃

@ Im Cumin: To be very frank its like support executive's work and seriously a B.tech in CSE is not needed for it. If you want to go for software and development then expertise and experience in the same field will do good for you. Having said that, switching from ITIM or ITIS to software development is also impossible as far as TCS is concerned.

1. I wl suggest you..do not leave your job..and give a shot at cat. The reason is that you have almost worked for 7 months..having some work experience always came in handy during interviews..
Moreover many colleges do not count work ex less than 9 months..
On job days,it wl be very hard to study,so utilize your weekends the most. Join some mock series..
And if this year..still u didn't get a gud bskul,then aim for cat 2011..
Don't leave your job, your 7 months of labour will go in vain..use your work experience

2. As per this question is concerned,i think if you love Hr go for it!
Even freshers get it..and excel in it..
