well what i can interpret from your question is that your are asking about crtiterias for CAT and various IT companies
Well for CAT minimum eligibilty is 50% in graduation so , so you are eligible for CAT 2010
Now coming back to IT companies , Leading IT companies do have criteria for 10th 12th and graduation
In 2007 Infosys has a criteria for 60% throughout IBM had a criteria of 70% throughout ( But these also are subjective , they have concession for some universities by + or - 5%)
similar cases would be for TCS( who prefer CS and IT engineers), Accenture, Sapient etc I dont know about the current scenario , but this was the typical scenario when i passed out
Some even have criteria that one should have zero backlogs during graduation, so its all subjective

Hey bro.
Although SIBM-Bangalore, being a new college, but it does have the Symbi brand , and location being another advantage. I would suggest ask the seniors of the college for a better perspective regarding the college.
Whether you want to do MBA this year or wait for year or two depends on you bro, If you feel you can do better next year or you would like to work and gain some valuable first hand experience of the corporate world then go ahead try later
Just ask yourself , which path you want to follow ,and follow it
All d best , hope you make the right decision for yourself

Hey bro first all , m also an aspirant , so i am giving you a point of view of an aspirant only
Bro Regarding the fees being 9 lac , these days every decent b-school has fees of 7+.
Gather some information , regarding the specialization you want to do and how is that shaping up. ask regarding the quality of faculty for the same, the industrial exposure interms of the guest lectures , summer internships, profiles being offered in that specialization during placements
Try analyze whether the courses offered at SIBM maps with your future goals , whether quality of the course matches your expectations. As an aspirant i would have done a extensive analysis , particularly it being a new institute
Try think whether a degree from this institute would be a value add for you and maps to your future plans, or you are going to crib that you didnt try another time.

See the point is that if you think you can do much better than sibm-b than you can take up a job and try for mba exams again.
Be a realistic. Are you willing to work as well as prepare hard for MBA??Do you think with the right amount of hard work you can get a much better college than this??Are you prepared to wait for 2-3 years to get into a good MBA college as koi guarantee nahin hai ki next year ho hi jaayega??
See getting into sibm-b is the easiest thing you can do at this juncture but it might not fetch good returns. And if you dont then you have to find a job, prepare again and there is always the risk of not making into a good college.
Since you seem to be a 2009 passout I will suggest go for a job prepare "very hard" for MBA exams and give your best shot.End call is obviously yours.
Hi..I hav got 2 offers Aricent(3.5lpa) & Fiserv(4.05lpa)..I hav very little time to make decision..Please guide which company is better to start career?
I have just given my final year exams (Physics(H) frm Miranda house, DU) and m waiting for my final yr results. Through campus placements i got a traineeship offer frm essar. the training is of 18 mnths in their various sectors ,then a job in any one of their sectors. I also gave cat 09 ( a pathetic percentile of 85 :-() n got admission in fms,bhu I want to give cat 10. I wanted to know what would b best for preparation, job or admission in bhu. I am totally confused, added to my woes is my parents' opposition to go to essar which involves complete relocation. please guide.

Prachi,
It is not suggested to take admission in FMS,BHU and waste a year and prepare for CAT 10.It is a complete waste of money, time and energy.Beside this, once you get into a college, your life will become really hectic.Paying proper attention to CAT 10 prepartions seems difficult.
Workex is a better option as it will provide you hands on training and a better understanding of the various processes in the industry.Exposure of such kind will surely help you in your interview after your CAT .Workex will always be counted.
But ,as you have mentioned that your training will be in different sectors and the posting will be in some other place, the option of studying while working looks bleak to me.
I will suggest you that If you are really confident about your preparations, serious about CAT and can afford a gap then concentrate on your preparations and forget about everything else.
*If you think you can study while you work then go for it but the first option is a complete 'NO'.
This is my perception.Yours can be completely different. After all ball is in your court. You have to take the decision and you know what is best for you.
Hi..I hav got 2 offers Aricent(3.5lpa) & Fiserv(4.05lpa)..I hav very little time to make decision..Please guide which company is better to start career?
Well i would say make your decision after looking through few factors
1 DOMAIN: Fiserv is finance oriented meaning mostly the clients are banks, credit unions etc On other hand Aricent is communication software oriented , so most of the clients will be from telecom sector
So choose which suits your interests better
2 Relocation: Look at the relocation part , also whether you are comfortable with it or not
3 Quality of Work: Check which technology you are going to work in both companies, and also does it map to your interests
4 Type of Projects: Check whether the projects are mantainence and support or developement; as i am of the opinion development projects does help a person grow more
5 Onsite Opportunities and Client level interaction: This is also very important regarding overall development and better understanding of the domain you will work in.
6 Appraisal policies: Regarding performance linked incentives like promotion and renumeration. As growth is the most important factor while working in a company .Also check your current salary , regarding how much is variable component of your current package , lesser the better it is
My name is Sugandha, recently m working as a trainee in an Organization, but its a small organization...m not at all satisfied the work m doing. I have completed my B.tech(IT) in 2008 and got placed from campus recruitment but due to recession didn't get call. My 1.5 years just wasted, waiting for my call. I then tried for MBA and gave CAT and MAT. CAT score was ok but not good, MAT score is 656. Got calls from Amity, Alliance, ramaiah and others.
I am working since January and have experience of 6 months. I am confused whether to look out for other jobs or to pursue MBA, as my family members are not in favor of MBA now though they never show.

any full time paid work ex after graduation is counted in all the MBA colleges. As for "relevant" work ex most of the junta in best b schools of India dont have it. Work hard for your CAT.Thats the only thing which matters.Obviously if you get a better job then go there but dont worry much about it.
Ace the written and do fine in interview.Thats all.

Sugandha, you have to decide whether you want to pursue an MBA or not.If the answer is 'yes' then you should ask yourself 'Can you wait for a year and try for CAT or any other Enterance exam.
If the answer is 'yes' you should stick to what you are doing /switch to some other job(since u said u r not satisfied with ur work)/quit the job and prepare for the exams sincerely(incase you can afford dat,I presume u do not have any liabilities otherwise this option is not viable)
Now if your really want to pursue your MBA and can't wait then the above mentioned MAT colleges are decent enuff to give a try.
Now incase you do not want to pursue an MBA then I will suggest you to quit your job and look for better opportunities.Thumb rule: If the company is not paying you well and/or you do not have liabilities and/or you are not happy/satisfied with your work then you should always look out for better opportunities.

As such HR is a vast topic and am sure it will be covered well in your lectures but still if you want to have an overview then go through the following.
1.Trade Unions 2.HR Initiatives in IT 3.Strategic,Situational and Sectorial HR 4.Employee Retention/Attrition 5.Exit Interviews 6.Organizational Behaviour 7.Brand Building 8.Operational Aspect of an Organization 9.Labour Laws 10.Principles of People Management
