Hi.. if ur very much interested in career in finance i would suggest u to go for CFA it will give u strong background in finance.now u have to decide if u want to do CFA from US CFA(Real one ) or indian CFA(duplicate).i would suggest you to go for US CFA.

or if ur interested in capital markets u can do certification from NSE which will give u idea of indian markets.

please someone reply to my query above

I am a Student of Civil Engineering and I have always been interested in pursuing an MBA, especially in Marketing. But, I have never studied Accounting, Economics , Banking / HR Mgmnt before. A bit surprised y hv u bn suggested CFA USA !!
Tho u r not in a very rewarding profile but still its "operations"
and not some relationship manager role after MBA Finance.

FRM will be best for u ... confusion shud hv bn between FRM
and PRM....and not the ones u mentioned.

Once u complete ur FRM ... u may try for better profiles
like Treasury , FOREX and Risk Mgmt. in ur present bank ... Then ur banking xperience will pay u .

CFA will mean very hard work for atleast 1.5 yrs along wid ur job...
...and then start from Zero again in profiles u hv mentioned after 1.5 yrs.

NCFM will mean addition of lines in ur CV and nothing more than that
i am from india and just wanted to know how hard is MBA,Masters in Management,Masters in Finance and Masters in International Business?

How many hours of lecture usually? How many do i have to self study at home(just an estimate) i know it depends on person to person but still just an estimate.

Will i be able to enjoy simultaneously like parties clubbing n all?

Can you please put the above mentioned courses in order according to the toughness? Thanks a lot

Sorry for being blunt but its a poor question to say the least.

It is a student who decides how hard his MBA is.Simplifying further...

A) Yes .. u can party , do clubbing and various kinds of similar activities ...now say if u party day and nite ... and study one day before to pass the exams .. u get the degree sans knowledge .. and it will be knowledge which is more likely to fetch u a good job rather than marks.

B) OR .. u study day and nite .. prepare well for ur exams .. clear all ur fundas ... occasionally enjoy wid frnds . Now obviously u are more likely to shine in ur work sphere. .... SO u will be the judge of how long to party and do clubbing.

Classes are generally till 4-5 pm .
Try to do self study for 3 hrs daily.

Hi puys,

I am nageswararao, B.Tech ECE 2008 passed out.
SSC 89.5%
HSC 95.4%
B.Tech 83%
GATE rank of 337 in my 3rd year of B.Tech and again appeared in GATE 2011 without much preparation and secured 1400 rank. Now I am preparing for MBA entrance exams 2011 for the first time.

I am having total work ex of 30 months in IT/Telecom sectors. Presently employed in BSNL as a JTO.

I am not having any job satisfaction even though it is a secure and ultra cool job. Reasons are

1) Staying away from home (I always love to stay with my parents and look after them)

2) I want to do some thing on my own (entrepreneurship) where I can do whatever I want with full freedom and control... at the same time I should contribute to the society (social entrepreneurship). I want to lead a challenging life and much satisfied life than life long plain life.

3) I am not feeling happy to remain with bachelor degree. I desperately want to do master degree. I think over M.Tech and MBA but my mind is always surrounded by business thoughts so MBA is coming out as the option

As My home town is a rural place, the only option to stay with parents and to do my social contribution is academic career.

Actually on doing some R&D; I found MA social entrepreneurship and IRMA PGRM are the courses of interest which exactly suits my needs. But after MASE from TISS am I eligible to teach in MBA or BBM colleges. Whether this course open good avenues in academic career. I know the main aim of the course is not the job but creating own enterprise. I need some steady income through some cool job(obviously teaching) and parallely i want to run my own business. As I am recently married this is a kind of risk management against uncertain outcomes of business.

In short I want to be a much demanded lecturer and a successful entrepreneur in my own place. Areas of business interest is "Health, Education and Agriculture". Please give your valuable suggestions to help achieve my goals.

MBA or MSF or MIB or MiM??
Hi i am Raghav from India in my BCA 3rd year..i am very confused as can be seen by the title
I am getting Cardiff Uni for MBA as i have no work experience
I am Strathclyde for Masters in International Business
I havent given a GMAT but i think i'll get above 650

That gives me a good chance of getting into City Uni Cass in Masters in Management or Masters in Finance

Now i want to know what should i go for?
What between Stratclyde MIB and MBA Cardiff?
What kinda course is the MIB? is it tough for me as i have done BCA?
What about Masters in Management from Strathclyde or if i get into Cass
what type of course is Mim? and also please tell me about Masters in Finance?

what kinda courses are these? they require hard work? regular daily study for how many hours estimate?
which course has the best value when it comes to jobs? which course and uni among these gives me the best chance of employment? what is the average salary for all these?

U r askin very specific questions and I dont think that anyone will be able to answer apart from alumni of Hult Schhol.

AND ... y cant u study on ur own asfter ur MBA classes  ??

One gets the impression that ur main aim is to enjoy life in England for 2-3 yrs rather than slogging it out in ur studies

I feel CFA USA will be a better choice in ur case.
But even if at 30 u can write CAT and go for regular MBA then it will be great. I mean at 30 + , personal things start gaining more importance.
PM me for further discussion.

Hi Puys !
I need to start with preparations for the job interviews ( Consulting, Operations) . It would be of great help if someone can suggest me a repository of basic questions that are being asked in the interviews on the subjects like Accounting, Corporate Finance and specially in interviews of companies like Deloitte , etc.

Any help in this regard would be of great help.

Regards

Guys,

What would be your advise from the long term career perspective, xerox or capgemini? Though i understand that both have different services but from a long term career prospect which one would u advise to go for. Salary wise I am getting more from xerox and its going to be a front ending role while capgemini presales is a back end job.

Please post ur replies asap.

Thanks.
