I have a joining date of mid august 2011 where I start off as a fresher. The CAT form asks for the number of months of work ex til 31 aug 2011 if I have read the guidelines crrctly. So what would be my work ex in such a case?
And secondly, IIM-A jus changed its AR formula and i reduced from 21 to 18(xcluding wrk ex), how adversely would it affect my chances?
Answer to second question first. Is this AR formula that you are talking about in your hand? No, then why are you unnecessary taking tension for something that you can not change or do something about. Prepare well for CAT and score good marks and hope for the best!!
For experience, it would be 0.5 months which would count as zero!!
my mother want to pursue MBA or PGDM but the main problem is that it must be in hindi language as she is not comfortable with English it should be via distance learning and cheap if anyone know such program please reply thanks in advance
Worked as a Software Devep. Trainee for 1.6 years with 3.00 p.a., since company had the bond period of 2 years and as i could not continue with the work, left the job in the middle and had to pay the compensation of 1.5L .
Hoping that i could get through MBA entrance, but sadly coudn't get the above avg collg. Gave Mh-cet twice(including 2011) but tough luck!. Losing my 1.5 years jobless.
Now, at present im 25 with just 1.6 years of exp, that too as a trainee, Moreover, with no great acads.
Seek help in followings questions -
Should i give up hopes of CAT, SNAP, MHCET etc?
Is my age bad factor for future ?
With such profile will I land up with a decent collg ?

Contact Makhanlal Chaturvedi Rashtriya Patrakarita Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal. I think they conduct PGDM in Hindi medium. I think Banaras Hindu University also launched or was about to launch a two year MBA program in Hindi medium.

Relax buddy. First of all you need to analyse all your performances and find out why you were not able to perform well enough to get a college of your liking. There is no need to panic. Your parents, etc. are there to panic (if they do so). Just cool yourself and try to figure out what are you doing wrong. Ask others opinion and analyse again.
At 25, you are very young. 1.6 yrs experience is the advantage that you have. You can definitely think to crack good colleges. But thinking alone will not be sufficient. You will have to learn from your mistakes. It is better to make new mistakes, but do not repeat the old ones. Because in that case you have not progressed.
If you are not sure about anything, then the best thing would be to start doing a job. And work towards your MBA-goal along with it. At least you will feel secure.

I second @Palak Mathur,
I think you should apply for colleges like FORE, LBSIM, and SYMBIOSIS colleges(not top ones). Thsese might not be top of the league but are reputed enough. They accept scores on lower side also. Dont just dream it do it, and yes Job + MBA prep option would be more secure option.
hello all, i did my mba in the year 2010 from a below average college in HR specialisation.i had a job offer through my college placement but i refused to join it as i didnt want to do a job that time and instead i enroll in for pg in one of my subjects of graduation after that. But now i am fed up with studies and want to do a job.i have registered in the various job seeking sites like naukri.com,timesjob.com and get decent calls from different companies to give interviews.obviously the calls i get are not so from good companies bt the ones i haven't heard the name before.i have heard tht few among those who call comes out to be fake ones too.guys what i just want is to get a job in a decent company which though doesn't have a big name but has a good no. of staff working in it and also has a decent reputation.so i just want you to guide me how to distinguish the good ones from all so that i can give its interview as i will have to travel to some other places to give its interview cause i stay in a small town. plz help!!
Hi Puys I am Arun .I have searched in the internet for a proper answer to my query. But did not get any first hand answer . Well I graduated in year 2000 with Commerce and got a job as an PO in a PSU Bank. Yes, I have over 10 years experience. Now after a decade of graduation suddenly I realize that these days good jobs / promotions / postings get passed over me due to my lack of an MBA degree which is very painful. So far I have appeared two times in CAT but very casually and my percentiles were over 85 in both times. This time I am damn serious about the exam. But before putting down a rigorous routine of preparations for CAT I want to know the reality of the age factor in MBA ( I am 32 years old ).I want to know from those guys who have already scored and got into IIMS / IITs or the top 20 MBA institutes. What are my chances that If I really score over 99 percentile in CAT and even get a GD/PI call that I may actually get to study in a TOP college and will not be rejected based on my age .Well theoritically IIMs/ IITs dont have an upper age limit, BUT what is the practical scenario based on the actual student profile of the PGP batches? .MY question is based on the student profile can you guys ( already in the top 20 institutes )tell me that actually how many of the students match nearly my age profile .PGP students please respond . Your feedback means a lot to me guys. Thanks again Arun

Umm, i need someone to clear me about the eligibility criteria mentioned by various companies ( or even B Schools for that matter )
When they say aggregate of 60% what does it mean ? Does it mean that scores of (1st sem + 2nd sem + ... 8th sem)/8 should be more than 60 ? or does it mean that the score in each semester should be more than 60% ?
I'm a bit worried cuz due to some personal problems i could score just 58% in my 2nd sem. My scores in other semesters are above 75. Please help ? 😞
