u did not specify which IIM i am guessing would be K
here are some ways u can build your profile
1)Add NGO or extra curriclular's in it..take part in Maitree initiatives
2)Take cerifications if there are some related to your work profile..like e.g if u working in Securities project you can take NCFM
3)if you are interested in finance then try and give CFA L1 would be a huge advantage in interview stage
Does the mba colleges consider call center experience or not.

Hi,
I needed some help with my MBA plans, which is why I am here in the first place. Well, I currently work with an IT major and trying to prepare for MBA entrances, however, the situation is, inspite of being interested in an MBA in marketing, I'm not sure about good institutes that offer this program. Would appreciate if anybody could list out some of the best ones where getting out with a Marketing degree would be worth it.
Also, the entrance tests that the institutes accept for admissions.
Thanks in advance.

Hi guys
I am working in a major Oil PSU for 20 months. The job profile is not quite exciting and involves routine work(it is basically technical support to sales function).Though the volume of work is quite high but in totality it doesn't require any creative thought. Sal package - 7 lakhs
My profile is as follows:
Grad: Mech engg. - 9.4 on scale of 10
12th - 77 %- CBSE:-(
10th - 81 %- CBSE :-(
Extracurriculars- decent
Given my work profile, I can not spare more than 2-3 hrs per day for CAT.
Gave CAT last year(2010) . Got 94.3 though DI took me down @ 72
I could not get any call from any of the IIMs (probably due to low DI score). No call from NITIE
MDI -did not apply
My FMS score was 95 % ile .
Given my average score in 10th and 12th, do you think its worth going for another try on CAT this year. Can these scores be an impediment in getting call from any IIM?
Also I have learnt that the cutoffs for fellow programmes in IIMs are quite lower than that of regular PGDM( say 91-92 %ile). Is it true?
Plzz...... reply. Thanks in advance.

Hello everyone,
I need some serious career advice from you all.
I completed my graduation in june 2010(bba) and appeared for cat in nov 2010.
I couldnt get a good score and therefore couldnt make it to any of the prominent colleges.
Now i am so worried and confused as to what should be my next step.
Though i am not planning to drop another year, but even if i take up any job, it would become impossible for me to manage my studies along with work.
Secondly , should I settle for any mediocre college ???
Scores:
CAT : 82
XAT : 77
SNAP : 96
NMAT : 196

1. Do NOT settle for mediocre college. ... NOT AT ALL
2. U r correct that job will make ur main job difficult.
See ur scores are good. If u work hard and get 90+ in CAT then that
mite get u a top 30 clg. So I wud say that write all the xams once again
wid sole focus on MBA preparation. Dont think abt a job now.
Whatever u do...DO NOT take a drop for ur MBA preparation.....ifu drop out, u sole aim would be to crack CAT ( which nowadays depends more on ur 'LUCK')....As they say ' Khali dimaag shaitaan ka ghar hota hai'....a job will take some pressure off while preparing for CAT...also it provides u with a ready plan B in case u get ditched in ur entrances......
i dropped out after working for an yr with a reputed co. to prepare for CAT....not only i failed to crack it, my percentile went down in all exams compared to wht i managed along with job....
So think before u take ur step......all the best !!
.Hi friends
I am Indian, 29, Male. I am presently working in ONGC and have work experience of 7 years in Materials Management. I appeared in GMAT recently and got 700. I want to pursue 1 year MBA either in finance from ISB, IIMA, IIMB, IIMC, IIML. I need your advice for that especially whether MBA in finance will not land me in trouble.
Waiting for your replies

See..herz d situation: Iv got two job offers at hand
1> Convergys. 3.5 L during traininng which lasts a year and a "3 year bond."
Good company..Post training package is pretty cool.
2> Mphasis...3 Lakh. 2 year bond
3> BIMTECH (pgdm)
P.S Im okay with breaking my bond So d bond is not an issue.
My CAT %ile was 80..and it dipped solely coz of my quant. Ppl tell me once u join a job u wont get the time..the percentile will suck even more in ur next attempt. I think i can work up on the Quant because its not that bad. It was just this one time that it dipped so low. I convrted all my calls this year. But next year, getting a proper score and converting the calls is a mad gamble. Hence the confusion.:lookround:
Please tell me...Which option should i tke up and why. Thanks.
