I am going to avail sabbatical leave from my office(My company doesn't have any issue if I sit in placement resign later.) Will it affect my selection if I sit in college placement?
Usually companies don't allow to be on sabbatical for pursuing MBA, and then quit once your MBA is over and allow to sit for placements at the college. They'll usually make you sign some bond.
But in your case, since you say, the company doesnt have any problem, then if you produce a written proof of that from the company then I don't think it will be a problem for you to sit in final placements. As I said, to be sure and also to show at the B-school, do take this in written from the HR or concerned authority at the company, that they don't have any problem.

My question is what other docs can suffice or rather compensate the work ex certificate requirement by the instis. The thing is that bond doesnt have much value but obviously if i demand for a work ex certi before leaving they wud ask for a compensation and i m in no mood to giv'em any. Please guys suggest me some way out so that i can make possible arrangements(JUGAAD) from now itself.

again the answer varies from college to college or compnay to company ,
Some college allow to show work -ex(and also as proof of work -ex while joining) with last 3 mnths payslips and joining letter
But majority of colleges need a reliving letter /experience certificate as well..
same goes with companies ....
I wud advise you to pay the compensation if possible as it is always better to have legitimate proof of work-ex in longer term

There is NO way.Its early days in ur career so I wud suggest dont take a chance. U will find ppl suggesting u not to pay and show ur payslips to prove that u worked. But then nothing can work in place of a proper work ex certif. As far as jugaad goes, u urself hv to find a way to get a work ex certif. widout paying. Patao ur HR.

being on bench is the best time to prepare for cat...just realise the fact that life in a project in IT company can be tough with 10-12 hours of working ,with 87% you realy need to work hard and for that stay on bench as much as possible and study(if you are serious for MBA, i assume that is why you are posting)

According to this years cutoffs, you'l need 99.6+ for calls from IIM C and IIM Ranchi. N then justify your acads in the interview

You will receive a call from only C and Ranchi on the basis of your cat score , A , B ,L , I , K look difficult
I am working in a major Oil PSU for 20 months. The job profile is not quite exciting and involves routine work(it is basically technical support to sales function).Though the volume of work is quite high but in totality it doesn't require any creative thought. Sal package - 7 lakhs

Grad: Mech engg. - 9.4 on scale of 10 12th - 77 %- CBSE:-( 10th - 81 %- CBSE :-(

Given my work profile, I can not spare more than 2-3 hrs per day for CAT. Gave CAT last year(2010) . Got 94.3 though DI took me down @ 72
I could not get any call from any of the IIMs (probably due to low DI score). No call from NITIE MDI -did not apply My FMS score was 95 % ile .
Given my average score in 10th and 12th, do you think its worth going for another try on CAT this year. Can these scores be an impediment in getting call from any IIM?
Also I have learnt that the cutoffs for fellow programmes in IIMs are quite lower than that of regular PGDM( say 91-92 %ile). Is it true?

(done mining engg. from vnit nagpur 80+ in acads with very good xtra curricular.) in underground coal mines don't like the job profile & it's very hectic job , it's almost impossible to prepare for CAT from this place got 91 %le in cat 2010 & because of all this and due to some other reasons I want to shift to finance or banking sector, giving bank po exams also , is it justified to go to banking sector ,I'm mining engineer want to do mba from IIM's only or is this shifting is going to hamper my next year chances? want your suggestion. At the same time bank where I got selected want my certificates in its custody for 3 yrs. I'm sure that I'll get it back when resign but main thing is that is this scrutiny of documents happens before gd pi or not ? because at that time it will be surely unavailable with me.

You will need all doccuments at the time of GDPI of any IIM. Its mandatory. You must shift to a field that you like. Dont worry too much about implications in the technical sense. If you like it, go for it. N you'l be good at it

i am working in an IT giant for past 15 months and my salary is around 3.4 lpa now i have an offer from another big mnc with salary around 6lpa. now my dilemma is 1)next year most probably i will get into b school through xat/cat/fms. now switching company will have a nagative impact post mba placement or not. 2) will there be any differnce regarding my salary post mba (in case of 3.4 and 6) what i mean is that do recruitment team look for last job pay slip and decide accordingly. 3)shall i join new company or carry on with present job.
I need some help , regarding NCFM certifications , if not NCFM then any other certifications to differentiate my profile, i could not pursue CFA because of economic constraints, so would like to know about any specific certification which could help me improve my profile

If you feel the profile is better , go ahead with your job, see only thing you need to check is whether you would have to relocate , can you manage your new work responsibilities and CAT preparation

No pay slips are not checked , your work ex certificates are checked during final placements , look at MBA as an avenue for switching into a new career path , which you cant gain from your current work ex or the new job
