I have got offers from techmahindra and capgemini. Package offered by both the companies is almost same. In capgemini i'll be working on .net and in techmahindra it would be java. Please tell me which one would be better.

I ll say join Capgemini. A better brand name and recognition than TechM. Plus there are good onsite opportunities as well in Capgemini. Both technologies u mentioned are equally good so I don't think that's a reason to worry.

Thnx a lot...actually the thing dat is attracting me towards techm is dat dey are posting me in delhi where i will be able to prepare well for mba also...so i wanted to know if it'll be a mistake choosing techm over capgemini...

Dude, your condition is similar to many others too. Dont get bogged down with your past performance. You cannot change your acads, so its best to concentrate on getting a good percentile in CAT, rather than worrying about the past.

True, most IIMs give a high weightage to past acads, but there are quite a few decent bschools which do not give much importance to acads, such as IIM C, R, etc. So prepare well, and give it your best shot. All the best.
hi puys,
i am in big confusion now....
i am b.com graduate(waiting for result)
10th:78%
12th:76%
1st year:43%
2nd year:55%
3rd year:expecting above 65%(main subject is accounting & finance)
i started preparing for CAT-2011.

i got a offer from GODREJ CO. for account and finance department.
1 year training and training at ahmedabad(in my state) the salary is 11000.and after 1 year they post me in my state at ahmedabad and salary will increase.

but,the main thing is that they will not post me in my city.so,i have to leave my city where i joined already CAT coaching classes and paid already 25k.
and if i join GODREJ than they will not provide me accommodation so my expense will be around 5k out of 11k salary.so,i get around 6k.:-(

No, It won't be. If u think by joining TechM, u can concentrate on ur CAT study then go ahead. I dont see any harm in that.

I ll say join the company as it will help to improve ur profile by adding work ex. And the company is also gud. You can get a transfer from the current city of coaching institute to the city u r joining ur job. I don't think it should be a prob.

Guys,
Need some suggestions:
I graduated last year, B.Com Accounts honours. worked 3 months in a event management firm and then left it to study for cat.
not a great result- 80%tile.
devastated and depressed, I picked myself and went ahead for the GDPIs of few colleges i had.
m on waitlist and no chance of conversion.
just back from NIBM, pune GDPI-my last hope and it wasnt good. m sure m not gonna make it.

now m lost and have no idea what to do next.
i really dont want to settle for a tier 2 MBA colg, but the pressure from family is immense. i feel ashamed of myself right now.

i wasted 1 year doing nothing.
please guys, tell me what to do next.

Hi folks, am in a major dilemma

10th - 84%
12th - 59%
Diploma in EC - 79%
Btech in EC - 70%

Passed out in 2010. Hate s/w to the core, infact technology for that matter. Unfortunately, had to spend six long years in doing what i absolutely hate. Relating academic score to the level of interest is stupidity. I tried to give my best as i have a tendency to be sincere in whatever i take up.

Now, the problem is, i work as an intern in a very good R&D; embedded communication software company. I have no clue if i'll be absorbed.

After spending six long years should i find another job in s/w or should i go for MBA.

Again, i am aware of the fact that atleast 2 years of work-ex proves to be beneficial but s/w!!!! Noooooo.

Horribly frustrated.

I've got into an IIM (2013 batch). What are the chances of getting an onsite placement?

- Are they only reserved for top CGPA students, basically slot-0 offers?
- Why do offshore placements dominate more at all IIMs, by a large proportion?
- Which is a good company to join if I'm targeting naturalization in the USA?

(Couldn't give a rat's as.s about the work I do: Basically I'm looking for complete security in terms of maintaining a stay in the USA for 5+ years.)

To be honest, these days, you need at least 8-10 years for a green card. My brother, an IIT-R grad, did his M.S. from a top college (Georgia Tech) but it still took him 10 years to get a green card. Another friend of his took 11.

What? Their gov website states that people who've stayed 5 complete years are eligible for naturalization, aka eligible for a green card!

How does it stretch to 10 or 11 years?

The problem is that there are far too many Indians and Chinese already in the queue. They have certain number of green cards for each country every year. Since there are so many Indian and Chinese immigrants, it takes a lot of time for the backlog to clear.

Really, its almost like being on IIM-A waitlist

One of my brother's friends who married his Ecuadorian girlfriend of 8 years assumed Ecuadorian citizenship. He then got his green card in 3 months because there are so few Ecuadorian immigrants

Oh my God, my fiance is Indian! And I don't even want to know how many Indians are in the queue, because it's obvious that the number is obnoxiously large!

My dreams of living in a developed country are shattered!!! Goodbye my dear Corvette, Country Home and the ThanksGiving Turkey.

On a more serious note: Now that my aim-in-life is crushed, should I suicide?

Hey puys
Here's my dilemma. I am working in a company and I have signed a 3 yr bond with them. Its already 8 months gone and by the time I wud give my attempts this year it would be around 16 months or so work ex aggregated. Now if I leave the company before 36 months bond tenure, prior to getting an admission, I certainly wont be getting any work-ex certificate. My question is what other docs can suffice or rather compensate the work ex certificate requirement by the instis. The thing is that bond doesnt have much value but obviously if i demand for a work ex certi before leaving they wud ask for a compensation and i m in no mood to giv'em any. Please guys suggest me some way out so that i can make possible arrangements(JUGAAD) from now itself.
