I wanted to know about summer internship at SBI.
What is the profile that they offer ?
What kind of work is given to summer interns ?
Stipend offered ?
Is it worth doing ?
Anyone who has done summers at SBI, please post your experience here !

Guys...
I am an electrical engg....I had left my job with a reputed manufacturing Co. last yr to prepare for MBA exams.....But it worked adversely....availability of too much extra time made me too complacent....n i m here with nuin SUBSTANTIAL in my hand....i ll still get an admit in some tier 2 colg...but thts nt me....
i still wanna give one more try.....so i decided to take a job.....whatever is offered.....luckily today i have a job with a reputed FMCG...the job is the area of supply chain management ( SAP applications)
My dream is to pursue management is marketing......however rite now its not possible for me to switch dept in this existing company nor i am willing to take a risk to let go this job to search for a new company which can offer me a marketing role....
Lets say, i do get some calls from top B schools...in tht case, i do the panelists view this case...
an electrical engg. having worked wih a core electrical co. for 1.5 yrs leaving job, takes a gap of 6 months, thn joins an FMCG to work in supply chain...n still wanna pursue marketing ???
Is this case defend-able??
Replies anticipated.....
Hi Puys
I'm CAT 11 aspirant.Desperately need to get into one of the best bschools in india. My CAT preperations are going well but the recent CAT results have disturbed me as most of d students have complained of having avg acad grades which hindered dem from converting d calls. As i have done
B.E. wid avg grades wid no work-exp.Does my avg acads hinders me 4m getting into good BSCHOOL even if i score well in CAT???????:lookround:
Hi,
I'm an IT guy working as a PM in tier 1 company and have around 10 years expereince. Recently appeared in GMAT and got 710 and planning to persue MBA either in INDIA or US. But I'm in a precarious situation now. My wife is currently doing her DDS in US and she says that If I get an MBA in INDIA, she will come back to India for my sake. First of all I'm feeling guilty doing that. Second, I'm not sure what kinds of opportunities will open up for me post MBA and whether that life will be better than what I will have here once my wife gets a job.
I know at the end of the day it is my decision but still thought of getting some opinion from others.
Thanks
SN
Pls help,

Query: Looking forward to 3 options (proirity wise):
- Career in ERP / PLM Implementation Consultant (Prob is dat though i am interested but finding it hard to get even a job interview call in the same, as only a few / rare of my seniors are in dis profile...wat to do?)
- Retail Merchandising / Buyer (Just cleared 1st round of interview call with a reputed brand, but after dat still waiting for other rounds......my exp in operations is causing a hindrance to enter here)
- Drop 1 yr and prepare again for CAT 2011 and probably aim for a supply chain profile with Operations MBA, as i am real frustrated in my current job and will anyways leave it in few days..........)
Any views guys
P.S : a lot of IT guys are here on pagalguy, so please provide some feedback on my 1st ERP ? PLM option pls pls...
Hey Guys,
I am kindof in a fix here and need some serious advice.
A little Background:
I have a USA Green Card, am preparing for CAT currently in India.
I am confused between Going to USA to do MS hasslefree after my grad (and forget the risk of losing the Green card) or doing MBA in india and risk losing the green card (dont mind it if in an IIM or some premiere b-school, which is something which cannot be predicted)
Will do whatever is best for my career.
please suggest something.
Thanks in advance.
Please Suggest something People
thanks

I am interested in building a career in the foreign exchange market in India.
Would I benefit in such a case by pursuing an MBA from the Tier 1 B-schools in India??
Or should I look into some other specialized courses related to foreign exchange?? If yes, please shed some light on such courses in India or abroad.

Overall BPO Exp: Two and half years
Hi all. After completing my class 12 I had spent 2 years in preparing for Engineering entrance exam but didnt get a good college. Then I took up a small job that was paying peanuts! But later I got an opportunity in a BPO and I moved to a different city. There I started studying again through correspondence(IGNOU) but completed my 3 years graduation course in 5 years(totally screwed up I know). I had taken a break from work for about one and half years in between as I wanted to get the graduation thing out of my way.
Now I have made up my mind to do MBA full time.
So my question is if I prepare very well then what are the exams and top colleges where I may have a fighting chance despite my track record?
Thanks in advance for your guidance.

Hi Guys!
As i reckoned its an amazing thread on career queries i figured i'll put in a doubt of mine to bounce of all you guys.
I am an mba from IInd tier college in Finance , & am currently working in risk advisory in a big 4, but i'm basically intrested in business advisory/ consulting work- i have an offer from EVS in BR of an analyst wid a 2 yr bond.. And now i'm slightly confused 'coz EVS is paying just 60% of my current pay.
Should i go ahead wid my current job or should i just chuck it 4 Business Research.?
And does BR in EVS has as much wide scope as the people there brag about... that one could join strategic consultancies & the like...
Would reallly value an insight..

I don't know the exact criteria by which they short list people for interns , but
Students with average academics , are in the top schools in the country & they are doing very very well in there internships.
Only thing that matters is how well do you work in your workplace.
All the best !
