Is a white shirt with tie n black trousers acceptable for a PI??? No need for blazer???
It should be fine. At the end of the day if a person is decently dressed (not necessarily in full formal attire) for an occasion & exudes great self-confidence, then there should be no issue at all even if blazer is not worn. I hope this helps you.
well you mean can I write work ex from jan 10??... i have mentioned that we have not registered our company but we have letter of appreciation from our client firm is that okay??

i took a some break for cat prep --->may 2009 to dec 2009 then we a group of six friends made a product based on my last sem project in engineering --->jan 10 to oct 10 Again job in a software company --->Nov 10 to present..
Well my partners joined MNCs for some financial security reasons
Now my question is what should I write in experience?? i mean should i include my entrepreneurial experience because we dint do any registration of our company but we have their letters of appreciation of our client firms
I am thankful if anyone can suggest me what should i write in experience in next cat or any other exam..
Hi Puys,
i'll be thankful if other puys say their opinion on my above problem...
though veracious_vik gave me his opinion but...I want more opinions..
Many colleges accept the copies of joining letter/promotion letters (if any) and last pay slip as exp. proof. You have to check it out with the specific college you are interested in though.
Hi Thanx for the reply I have one more query that if after MBA, I apply for a job would they require a relieving certificate then ??? What if I show'em the same pay slips and joining letter?? What channel should I follow for best outcome while I leave the company?? What are the possible difficulties I m likely to face if I do not produce Exp certificate.??
i'll be thankful if other puys can say their opinion on my above problem...
You should surely mention your experience as a entrepreneur, because it might be useful during the interview stage as well. Do ensure that you will have to justify well why you quit that and joined the MNC.

okay...
so do you mean that i can write the experience based on the appreciation letters from our client firms??because that's only thing i have as of now..and it was the web Based service product so they are still running in our clients' firms and the service not totally shut down however I and my friends are handling it along with our job..
and I am PMing this Question now a days to Many Experienced Puys..there are two main replies from puys
1)yes you can write about it 2)no you can not write about it in the early stage but you can explain it in the interview..
That's why i am more confused..I mean how can I figure out the fact?
puyss i neeed to find the summer training in finance.how to approach the companies?i mean i dont have any prior experience or knowledge of finance but i'll be opting for finance as my specialisation in 3rd sem but before that 2 months summer training is compulsory so how should i find one?
I'm a B.tech student currently in my 3rd year, and am planning to give CAT this year. (I started thinking of giving it fairly recently). I'm from Hyderabad.
Here is my acad profile:
10th: 90%
12th: 73%
B.Tech: 68-70% (Assuming I do well in the coming two sems)
(I'm a NON-IITian)
Do I stand a chance of making it to say... IIM-A or B given that I score well enough in the actual CAT exam?
And finally is it a more viable option to join an IIM WITH work experience rather than without? (Considering the recent trend in the IIM's in which freshers with no work experience are slowly being "elbowed" out of placements each year)
What is the pay-off one gets if one pursues an MBA from any of the IIM's immediately after graduation, in the long run? What are the placement opportunities for a fresher compared to someone with work experience?
Thank you in advance for any kind of suggestions or ideas...
hey one of my frnd got his placement in accenture dis feb along wid me, we first got the letter of intent to placement and recently got offer letter.
but now he is changing his name, so how can he inform the company? will he get another offer letter? and is joining letter different from offer letter??

Surely you have a chance to be selected in the top IIMs. The criteria for giving interview calls has surely been tilted towards academic profile in the past 2-3 years or so but still, you will have chance provided you get a high CAT score.
Regarding placements with no work ex, there are some companies which actually prefer freshers or people with less work ex. And yes, there will be some roles where experienced people will be preferred too. I would suggest you to be not worried by this. Instead, work towards getting a high CAT score and getting into a premier institute.
10th - 86.2 (CBSE) 12th - 88(CBSE) Grad - Bsc stats ( 61 ) Delhi university
I was wondering if my acads are good enough for selection in all 11 IIM's. How much should one score in grad to have a decent change in all IIMs given the fact that Delhi Univ doesn't grant scores above 65-70% easily.
Do IIMs count the toughness of exam/scoring tendencies per univs while calling people or is it just the normalization scheme which is blindly followed?
One more thing, Most of the IIMs are counting people who're doing Bsc (H) statistics in the "engg group". Why are we not considered in Science background?

When he joins the company he will go through an "induction" process wherein he would be required to fill in many more documents and all his original certificates mark sheets etc. would be examined. He can produce his original document that shows he has changed his name at that time. For now the only thing he can do is drop a mail though they are unlikely to reply. But just to be on the safer side.
