It depends upon you...if you think you can go for better b-school, join tcs. otherwise if you dont like it work, you can join mba

Go for MBA iff you get an admit in imt-g otherwise join tcs.
Its my opinion though. You can seek others' opinion as well.

i think u shud go for IMTG, if u think u can get 99+ nxt year, go for TCS and add work-ex

I have work ex of 6 years in an IT MNC, have a GMAT of 730, good extra curricular, decent leadership, good acads prior to engg and average Eng acads.
I am looking for a good program, locally or internationally which accepts GMAT score, and have good placements and which costs less than 25-30 lakhs.
I know ISB, SP Jain Dubai,Nanyang,NUS are some options. Any other colleges you can suggest?

Been in a lot of dilemma for past few weeks.Need some good advice.This post's going to be a long one.
My CAT 2010 score :
QA - 92.xx
VA - 97.xx
DI - 21.xx(Can't believe this.Haven't got below 80.xx in any mocks)
And similar was the story in all other exams - FMS,NMAT,XLRI.I couldn't clear cut-offs and bag any calls.So the season was over.
I'm now in the 8th semester of my engineering.I have a decent job (5.5lpa) with a leading private power sector company in India.
That for the background.Now my problem :-
Before joining my job,I have atleast 4 months with nothing to do.Totally free four months.Should I start preparing for CAT 2011 now itself? Because my biggest fear is that once I join the job in September,I'll have loads of work to do, and no time for that last lap of hard work that is very very important,and that because of this,my preparation of 4 months will also go waste. Should I or Should I Not?
(Can't believe this.Haven't got below 80.xx in any mocks)Do prepare for cat but also have fun/entertainment alongwith it...Once ur in a job there would be paucity of TIME...read books, visit ur relatives, far off frenz etc..
CAT is all about an attitude as also prep..try to develop that !!!

I have got 94%ile In XAT-11 with verbal-88,QA-96,AR-70 :banghead:.I havent applied for XIMB and SP JAIN:banghead: and many other good institues.presently i am working in mahindra as Asst manager with 2 years experience and pak of 5laks.
right now i am left with 2 options welingkar mumbai and loyola(LIBA) chennai .kindly suggest me whether these coll are good and if quit my job right now and join in any one of these colleges can i get a good pacakage after 2 years.

i have done my graduation B.com(hons) from delhi university regular college just passed out in 2010. . but as a matter of fact my percentage is a major barrier for me. .
BECAUSE ITS JUST 47.29 . . . . . (in my 1st and 2nd year i just studied only 6 hours before exam from 12am to 6am thats the main reason my carelessness my let go attitude my foolishness and no words)
now i m standing at a point where i am totally confused about what should i do now. .
its really very irritating bcoz i know its all my fault. . but please help me out
please guide me now

Whats gone is gone, the future is still to take shape, just calm down stop blaming urself and jst get things on track. As for MBA, just one tip, are you in for it surely or u jst wanna do it to cover ur past. If you are good then thr is no darth of good colleges, but just prepare hard and go for the kill, be realistic abt thing and u will achieve them.
As for CFA, visit thr website and u will get all the info.
hi, I m 32yrs having worked for abt 6 yrs in sales profile life insurance sector mostly n in banking too.I did my comp. Engg, B,e, abt 10yrs back and due to recession that time, i took opportunity in banking sales without much thought if sales wuld give me the right career path.i went on working in different roles,job hopps in life insurance and in between again banking since i was not getting much satisfaction.presently i hav quit sales after working in life insurance sector due to the downsizing.i hav taken up distance learning mba and now i m in a dilemma of what specialization I take up in subjects frm icfai.I m doing 3 year degree course and options of specialization given are: finance/banking/investments/IT/international mgt/operations/general managmt/insurance/HR.pls advice what i choose since i been never comfortable doing target oriented sales but during work experience learnt that i was gud at operational work and building relationship.at this stage, wuld this mba just add on to my cv as a degree or wuld i get a job in relevant field of specialzation,please advice as I dnt want to choose a wrong line again.IT is no more of interest to me.what job shuld I look for as mostly jobs are sales oriented and this time i hav to look more towards getting stable job without hopping anymore and gradualy grow.I know one thing that i can do any desk work except sales.

ur acads are decent and you shouldnt have much problems in making the cut to an of the institues, just work har and score well in your enterance exams.......

After long search I found this thread for clarifications of mental doubt.Well I am 2010 passed ELEC N COMM. engineer.Joined IBM IN 2010 july.
Have already appeared for CAT twice in 2009(final yr of grad) and in 2010 with least or u can say no prep as I was completely busy wid trainings in company n all and secured 70 nd 75% resp.
Now when I am seriously thinking of preparing for CAT I m stuck wid a big dillema
Reason being my 68.9% in grad.I have 84% in 10th and 83% in 12th.
Just wanted to know from seniors that watever the current criteria IIMs r following, wid bit modifications or d same ones, will I be ever able to get into any of the IIMs???
It actually sounds funny that without prep such a silly question for admission, but this question is makin me confused that shud I start my prep or just leave it and think about something else.
You can get into any biggie barring a few, your over all acads are good.
Most institutes are nowadays moving towards a composite score kind of a system, wherein you will score well overall provided you score well in the enterance exams.
Study hard and smart......
