Hi guys wanted some info on work-ex certificate from company. I am currently working as managerial trainee, for the past 8 months, in a big brand FMCG company. I will be quitting in a couple of months. I would want to take a work-ex certi when i quit. I would like to know what is written in a work ex certi. Is it just for how long the employee has worked in the company, or does the boss write any personal comment? Actually my performance has been pretty average due to the non-compatibility of the job and i dont want any unsavory comment on my work-ex certi. Also, how long does it take to get a certi? Thanks

dude it depends on wot r ur preferences w.r.t MBA and how far can u stretch urself wen it cums 2 preparing for MBA xams(n cracking it)....aftr u hv done rilli well in MBA xams,u cn choose da coll dat suits urself da best:cheerio:

Hi viveknitw...my advice to you would be to not to panic at this moment.
2010 season is now over. Don't think too much about it. You have a decent job right now. So weigh in the pros & cons of quitting the job for preparing for CAT. I can understand the hectic schedules of your work but the pressure to perform in CAT would be tremendous when you quit. The self-confidence can take a hit if you do not score well in Mocks. Also seeing your college mates earning handsomely at the same time while you are at home earning nothing will dent your self-confidence as well quite seriously. Your parents would definitely love you always but just think about their feelings also. They would also find it difficult to answer questions about your decision to quit & study.
All said & done..I am not at all discouraging you to not to quit & prepare. I only suggest you to think about all the factors carefully, discuss openly with your parents. If they back you & you also back yourself to go the distance in CAT 2011 then go ahead & quit your job to prepare.

if you will be asked what were you doing this 1 year then what?
it will give negative impression.

think of which colleges can admit you up you are not 100%iler
as well as why not join harvard or wharton?
hey if you really get into iim's its good i am very serious try to bell the CAT or after 3 years years beat the Gmat.

Lot of experienced puys will offer you good suggestions if your question is clear.If you are not getting answers, please don't spam the thread by repeating the question.
Just introspect as to why you want do an MBA and shortlist colleges which suit your interests and will propel you in to a higher package (if that is the sole reason for doing an MBA
)Many students of various B-Schools are available on PG.Get in touch with them through their respective B-School threads and PM them to get a detailed picture of their campus and placements

I am in utter confusion should i go for IBS or not..I have heard that IBS hyderabad is a gud college..so what abt IBS gurgaon..??
do a complete research abt the job profile they offer .. if u think u can survive in that condition with out any hiccups , u can go ahead with your switch .. i dont find anything against this decision if you are potent enough

looking at your past academic records, i would suggest you better try CAT once again, with full preparation, a 50%ile does not justify your capability,
IBS hyd. is a good college, with huge batch strengths, and IBS gurgaon, i would suggest IBS, gurg. only if you are very desperate for a MBA this year

it depends on the company policy, some do add a write up about your performance, but if you have not done something terribly bad, they do not write about it,
you may apply for one, if they write any remark, and you like it, you may use it, or even the joining letters and the salary slips would do

i think u shud not go for any ibs colleges except hyd,if u are desperate.now just think of your grads and find a job i am also trying for a job

ICFAI hyd is good even gurgaon is good i guess.basically thru icfai there are 3-4 colleges which are reputed which u shd try...other puys pls suggest...
u can try exploring the icfai thread on pg as well..
if nothing works out go for job and continue with cat prep and job..

for iims process quitting and preparing is considered in bad light....avoid this option.try getting job in less hectic co..
well first before taking any decison , we have to see what options u have
if cat is the only option u have, then why r u thinking there is no point in thinking
if u have any other opiton, and want to give cat a shot then also there is no point of thinking
the bottomline is , there may be things which might have ruined u r past but there can be nthin done about it, as u cannot change it, so there is no point crying over spilled milk, what we can do is now how to minimize the loss and that is by striving hard in every field we r choosing,
secondly dont curse yourself by remembering something u didi wrong in past, it happens with everybody, u can say to panel that everybody commits mistake, but the key is to learn with them and move on. I would like to quote some examples here
1. My college junior , who didi his btech with almost 5 backs made it to iim a
2. Another my friend got 56 in 12th and made it to iim c
3. Live example prem sir , who got 56 in btech and made it to iim c
so, i wont say it will be easy but it is not impossible, and firstly make u r mind mentally toguh, life will thro more bigger challenges then cat,there is no point being emotoinaly weak as it will not help here.
Dont loose hope, try giving u r best shot, there r colleges like iim c who dnt care about u r acads and belive me xlri also dont care much , the collges which care like iim b, iim s and spjimr will not call you in the first place, but if u leave them apart iift and mdi give strict score based cals so dot worry and start preparing, and dont regret and dont look bak , just learn fromt he misatkes
in the end i would like to quote
