I guess you are the best person to answer this query.
If you are a fresher, its always advisable to earn some work ex before applying for an MBA. In this case, Infosys is indeed a good company to work in, and you can surely go ahead with it.
College comparison is not allowed in PG. However you can PM senior members to ask for advice/specific queries regarding particular Bschools. Am assuming you are ready to take up any one of those 3 Bschools.
If you are interested in directly doing an MBA, or you want to change your domain/any other reason, then you can go ahead. But make sure to set your priorities right.
For example if you are not interested in I.T., you may not like working in an I.T. company. Similarly I would say its better to go for an MBA only if you have a genuine interest in business.
All the best.
hello! I am a science graduate (zoology ;)) from HANSRAJ COLLEGE and have completed my graduation this year itself. So i wanted to ask that where can i work keeping a zoology background in my mind (no options in this field)...like some kind of internship or something in some banks or insurance cos. ( i have heard ING VYSYA, BHARTI AXA and likes offer such internships... any idea about that!)

Hello sir.I am also a fresher(engineering,3rd semester) with average academics(10th - 70.4% , 12th - 61.7%) and no extracurriculars.Thinking of joining a coaching for CAT in 5th semester. What are the chances that even after clearing top institutes exams(CAT , XAT etc.) with decent percentile I'll receive a call? How my bachelor degree will affect it?Any advice and recommendations for me?

If you can, then please check out some of the previous pages of this thread. You will find queries similar to the ones asked by you, and their answers. However in a nut-shell, I would say that you have plenty of time left to prepare for CAT, so start participating in extra-curriculars, and do not neglect your engineering in any case.
Remember that its not that easy to clear top institute exams/get a good percentile, you need to put in some dedicated effort. Dont underestimate the entrance exam. Selection criteria differs for different Bschools. Some like IIM-bangalore and IIM-Shillong give high weightage to acads, others like SP Jain stress on overall profile. So it depends on the institute, whether or not you get a call.
I meant that you cannot compare any Bschools in Pagalguy. Ie, you cannot say that Institute A is better than B because of so-so, and so on. Doing so is against PG rules.
All the best.

There are lots of top instis which will call you on the basis of your written score viz IIFT, FMS, IIM C, MDI and loads of other. All you have to do is to give your best shot in whatever is in your hands. Everything else will follow. Two years back(in my third sem) I was in the same boast as you are in now. I didn't care of my past and did my best. I am expecting good season this year.
I guess you didn't decipher the acronym properly. It just means that comparing colleges on PaGaLGuy is not allowed.

as rightly pointed out by fellow puys take inputs from alum/students of these bschools to figure out regarding the best streams and placements of these campuses...
also depending on ur performance in various exams and ur prev academic bckground u could gauge ur potential of competing for the best bschools (in case u plan to take mba exams in future)...

Well...It depends on lot of things.....If ur really getting good college ...don't listen to anyone...Go and take admission....."I can do better next time" is very vague statement.....sometimes u do ..sometimes u may land up nowhere....Fact is 40 percent of freshers are there in IIMs....
Mba degree is for life time....It will be highest degree in your career. So take your call....Being in infy and preparing for CAT next year will depend on only one thing..The project ur put into...If its hectic ..forget preparation...If its Okayish.u will be able to prepare...Its luck....I will suggest u to find a company where working hours are fixed....like 9-6 or 9-8 and u get 2 days off on weekends.....Infy timings are not fixed...sometimes they call u at weekends...Especially when ur in shift..it might take a toll on u..
So ask urself wat u want to do....We can just suggest u...Final decison must be urs....
P.S: Waise the lines written in bold will be my next step if i don't get gud colleges(Fore,LBSIM excluded) this year...I'm working in a TOP IT company.Name witheld 😛

Do a thorough research before taking any certification. Make sure that it aligns towards your goals.

If you like working for NGO go for it. It will have 2 benefits:
1. You will have a very different profile from the people applying to CAT and other exams (which helps in a big way).
2. You will get enough time to prepare for CAT because the work load will not be that demanding in the corporate sector.
I hope it helps
Hi Everyone
Need some advice , i am a first year student at IMI , and i am interested in taking up finance as my specialization
I wanted to know about a few career options in this field , given that i have 30months of work ex in IT(Infosys), so its total career switch
I have planned for CFA next year not sure whether to give in june or december, i wanted to know whether there are any other certifications i can attain to improve my portfolio, atleast to differentiate it from others
I also have plans for Fellowship or an executive MBA from any good foreign university ,to get some international exposure and i am planning to do it 4-5 years from now , so is this option viable and will this step add value to my career
Looking forward to some advice :)
Thanks in advance
