hello, i am in the final year of engineering and i was recruited by TCS in this years campus placement. i needed some information as to when the training will begin and i will actually start workin.. the thing is that i took my CAT this year and i did not fare very well.. so i wanted to plan out my preparation for this years CAT (2006). anyone with the info, please reply..
Me to in final year of enginnering and placed in TCS.According to the info i have ur medical takes place in jan-feb and ur date of joining will depend on when TCS has scheduled their batches for ILP most probably it is aug-sept. Go easy with CAT-06 intiallly and pick up the momentum gradually. ATB to u.:neutral:
Me passing out in another 3 months - placed in TCS on campus - ILP usually starts in the month of July or even June - actually its your choice - u can join wenever u want - that is what will be mentioned in the joining letter - and more preference will be given if u join at the earliest
I am with TCS for last 2 yrs and all I can tell you people is that dont worry for the syllabus that TCS provides you with your joining letter......Dont read the books or other stuffs they ask u to........The ILP will take care of all that is needed.........I wud like to bring following things to ppl joining TCS @ ILP:
1) These 2 months will be the best days of ur life @ TCS 2) Don't read the 4-5 books they prescribe...better don't buy them also...they are of no use. 3) Get to know in which languahe the project is to be done ans learn a bit of the language...we had it in Java and I didnt knew J of Java........ 4) Pay attention to the classes of s/w engg subjects in the ILP as they will be useful in the mid term and end term tests...... 5) The mid Term test marks will be used to allocate ranks to u based on which your preference for posting after ILP will be decided....so put your max for mid term ONLY. 6) Dont get depressed if u get rating of 2 after the ILP as its a default kinda rating. Ppl get confirmed at 4-5 after rating of 2 at ILP....I have also seen a ILP topper getting confirmed at rating of 2 7) Address the faculty at ILP by their name and avoid 'sir' and 'madam' for God's sake. Do carry attested copies of the certificates they need. 9) For Birth certificate, dont panic if u dont get a birth cetificate....an affidavit will do. 10) Try to be the CRs of the sections of your respective sections to have a greater fun
To Anuj i m from NIT Kurukshetra,our medical is on 8,9th of feb. yes, we r having an on-campus training .i.e.TCS training at the college itself.Our comp. deptt. teachers r teaching us the basics of s/w engg. which include "how to handle s/w projects"(no languages like C++ or java),and we r havin case studies,presentations all tht.nothing like exciting....
hey peepz.......m from IET-DAVV(Indore) & all up for TCS-2006........we had our medical in Jan n rite now pre-ILP training of d subject S/w engineering is goin on in the campus..........we'r being taught by our own faculty members and the span of this training is Jan'06 - Mar'06 with weekly 2 sessions of 2.5 hrs each........ we'r also required to make Projects n Presentations of SRS ,ERD, DFD, Design etc......its fun 4 we elex ppl.........dunno abt CS guys, they have already read this subject in thr course
Well ILP Pune this year was a lot of fun for the people there !!! But not for boyfriends of girls who went there. My girlfriend was in ILP Pune during October 2005 till mid December 2005 ... and there she found a new guy !!! well most of the guys there moved around her like puppies !!! they were called " Madame and her Poodles" and stuff ...so if ure a girl goin there it wud b nice tellin ur bf to leave u before u go ..else hell wud break lose on him too .. 😃 So have a good time !! Hi I got selected in TCS in campus this year. I wanted to know if there are some essential things that are expected to know when you join TCS. Also we have not got our medical dates yet any one from Gujarat who got selected in this year's campus recruitment and got the medical dates? I wanted to know more about the midterms taken during the ILP and the course that they include in it
heard that those who are undergoing ILPand those who just finished their ILP did not get the preference of posting... is that true??

You would be alloted to the place of your choice depending upon the marks you get in the Mid Term Exam.... I did my ILP 1.5 yrs back in Coimbatore and at that time the MATC (the resource allocation team of TCS ) came out with a list of vacancies at different TCS branches... n we were asked to name top 3 choices ... according to our marks we got our postings .... also note that as a fresher u will have no say in the choice of projects...
but after all said and done ... trust me ILP will be the most satisfying time you will ever have in TCS ... good luck and have a gr8 time ...
