Hi.

Any TCS veterans or other ppl who have undergone TCS medical test please reply. I know that TCS checks for colour blindness. What I would like to know is whether they also gives stress on the power of eye like their is some upper eye power limit etc. I am asking this because I have a high eye power and it is also peculiar: -4.5 for left eye and 0 (yes, you've read that right) for right eye. The peculiarity is due to an accident I suffered when I was a child.

To all those who are in this discussion ..am currently working in TCS hyderabad..just completed 1yr 3months..got confirmed on July1st...
it was just 1yr i've been here ...but learnt a lot....now the lot i mean is not some software skill....that u'll learn anyway...again its upto you...but what i mean is..you see wide variety of people...some very good.. some worst than psycho...atleast i've seen both...you'll learn how to tackle with people... the current project am working is treated as "Hell "...ppl loath for coming to his project....but i made best use of this place... and i'v seen ppl discussing about Medical Examination...dont worry these ppl's limits are too extreme..i guess only a guy with AIDS or SARS will get rejected...and regarding the designations..u startoff with ASE-T after one year ASE.then after 3 yrs u'll become ITA..and i dont know exactly after how many yrs...but the next level is Associate Consultant...and there will be Consultant...Senior COnsultant..and after that even am not aware..but what ever..growth in TCS i feel is bit slow...but when it comes to job security they are the best...no one can beat them...its literally govt...even the whole IT crashes they wont leave you....and one ..simple strategy...it works out in most of the IT companies..just work for 2-3 yrs..change the job...and then after 2yrs again come back..the level goes by 1 or 2 when compared to staying there only for 6yrs...

I got recruited by tcs offcampus drive on 24th July held at delhi.And I got my offer letter on 26th sep.and get medical done on 3rd october.Now after that i have been waiting for any joinng info. from TCS but have received none so ever.When one of my friend called TCS Bombay to know about the status of the joining than they told him that our joining has not been finalized yet and will take another month and joining will be most probably in december,january.

I dont understand one thing that why they need so much of time for giving us the joining dates.Can anybody who is presently working in TCS throw some light as what is they do for which they need 5 to 6 months.

A little help will be highly appreciated.

Yes I am also waiting for that info.
I got selected on 3-4 sep. drive at ahemdabad. So one week after you. I don't know about joining. Any Person working in TCS can help and throw light on this matter.
By the way Is anyone got joining date who were selected in Bhopal or Mumbai Off-campus? If yes than reply to this post.

I am working with TCS mumbai.
It is not new for New Joines to wait for the joining latter .......it happened many times as TCS is recruting in huge numbers now a days.....the time they took is due to the scheduling the training(ILP) batch.....
Only solution is call them and ask them when it will be.....
And still then just chill or hunt for some other opportunities....

i m from Anand too and was selected in Nirma- off campus. i have rcvd the offer letter. and i hope u must have rcvd the same too, by now. but its been above a week and they havent notified with the medical check-up related letter. have u rcvd the same ???

You are talking about joining letter then it will come in some days as they told when i called at mumbai office, by the way can you tell me from which college you have done BE?

hey guys , got selected in tcs offcampus in chennai in july , i yet have to receive the letter of joining whereas my friend of the same batch has got an email stating his joining date.... is it tht our batches are different or r the ppl randomly selected . any 1 help plz

also if some1 cud tell me wut the "gross salary" wud be n is it increased after the training period??? any hidden deductions from the salary???? like they did to my friend in honeywell>>>>>the sal is 6000 during training period out of which 2000 is cut for something

n the results of the medical test where displayed the next day at the hospita for us(apollo-chennai)

I wud like to know, after you replied them with ur acceptance, how many days/months did they take after which you rcvd ur letter for the medical check-up ?? .........and from where have u ben selected - which centre ??

My ILP starts on 28th dec at Bhubaneshwar(I am a fresher-EEE branch). I have heard that nowadays TCS is asking ppl(who r not in any project) to go home rather than sit on bench..(But u get paid)How far is this true?any idea..Also TCS has recruited a large number of ppl this year ..So wats the funda ? when u dont have projects y hire ppl n fire them later ?Guys in Chennai and Mumbai office, wats the scene like?
I have recd an offer from Infy too and have been asked to join them on 21st nov at Mysore.So I will have to choose bet these two cos. Earlier I had decided not to join Infy coz I not the kind of person who can slog till 1 in the night and then return to office the next day at 6 in the morning..I am not that hard working and intelligent (read I have a pea-sized intellect)so my chances of getting thrown out are very high :).!!!
So if u guys at TCS can gimme a clear picture abt the scenario there(at TCS) right now it will be of great help..
Pls advice as to which offer I should take up..wrt to the kind of remuneration, the growth curve in these two cos.etc etc..

We got the medical letter on the same day as of the offer letter and had medical just after one week of that.Now the whole problem is that there is no way to know the medical result.we were told that whoever will not be found fit will get a call from tcs otherwise you will get the joining letters,but after one and half month of medical we havent received any intimation whatsoever from TCS.Anywayz i wish that this long wait soon comes to an end.

Can you tell me when you got selected? and where?

So that we can have idea that how much time they will take.

Also After selection and medical test in how much time you got joining letter?

One more thing as i am from EC (Non IT branch) what they expect from us ? Java or anything such they have mentioned in that letter?
