@jaspunit said:@bigtimeloser how?total distance = 2n-1 * Dthen?
total distance = 100 + 4*2*100 = 900 km
distance covered by A = 8/20*900 = 360 km
dist. by B = 12/20*900 = 540 km ??
@mani0303 said:It's 2835 ie (4^2 - 3^2)*(8^2 - 7^2)*(14^2 - 13^2) = 7*15*27 = 2835
bhai thoda explain karo - what is this formula ??
@mani0303 said:hey,- good to see you old fellaLet's say a = (2^x1)(5^y1)(11^z1) and b = (2^x2)(5^y2)(11^z2) the pair x1 and x2 can take 4 different values including 0 - so the possible pairs = 16,but we should exclude pairs that don't have 3Hence,4^2 - 3^2 and similarly for other 2
Sir x1 and X2 can take value pairs (3,0),(1,2),(2,1),(0,3) How possile pairs =16?
also how are you getting pairs which dont have 3?? please thoda explain kijiye ..

@Subhashdec2 said:let a=2^x1*5^y1*11^z1b=2^x2*5^y2*11^z2either of x1 and x2 have to be 3let x1=3x2 will have 4 choices 0-3x2=3x1 will have 4 choices 0-34+4-1(both equal to 3 counted twice)=7aise hee baki ke saath karle
but x1+x2 =3 ? according to your explanation when x1=3 and x2=1 then it exceeds 3 (i.e. 4) but 2 can have max power of 3. how ?????????????

@jaspunit : the timings at which they start is not same. hence you need to add extra 12 kms that A has travelled till 7:30. then for the remaining 88 kms you need to divide in the ratio 3:2. and after that 800 kms would be divided in the ratio 3:2
Did anyone understand the concept of a TF QOD?
What will be the unit digit of quotient of
{10^40000/(10^400+40)})
@jaspunit said:@furious_chap is it like,10^(40000-440) = 10^39560
I didn't get what you are asking.
The question was to find the unit's digit of the quotient of the expression {10^40000/(10^400+40)})
For how many positive integers b
@vasanth1 said:For how many positive integers b
2???
Equation on RHS has 2 negative and 1 positive root...since b is positive
and equation on LHS has 2 roots 0 and -c.
If c is negative or positive they will intersect at 2 points...

Unit digit of quotient will be 0.
Check these two links for explanation
"n is an integer value for all the value of a and b"
what does this expression mean?

bhai chinese remainder theorem lagayi hai...
25^889/99
E(99)=60 so rem(25^60)^14/99=1
left with 25^59/99
applying chinese theorem here
1)25^59/9 rem(25^59)/9=4 so r1=4
2)25^59/11 rem(25^59)/11=4 so r2=4
and also ax+by=1 ,
here a=9 b=11 so we get x=5 ,y=-4
putting all these values in eq.
ar2x+br1y
we get 180-176=4

"xy^2 +x^2y" will always be even, right?
@veertamizhan Yes sir..!
Lets take cases.
1. x=odd y=odd thn, o+o=even
2.x=odd y=even thn odd*even=even
so clearly we get EVEn, as far as integers are concerned.
Thanks
