Time and work
@viewpt said:Q: 6^99+ 8^99 div by 49, R???
[2(8!)-21(6!)] = 16*7! - 3*7! = 13*7! --> 1
[14(7!)+14(13!)] = 7! + 13(7!) + 14(12)(11)(10)(9)(8)(13)(7!) --> 2
I guess 2 is dividend and 1 is divisor ..
In that case , second and third term in 2 is perfectly divisible by 1
so 7! remains :mg:

Find the remainder when 55^104^297 divided by 17 ??
See, here the time taken by the group to complete the work is M hours.
so, the work done in 1 hour is 1/M.
Now, the original group works for 8 hours. So, the work done in this 8 hours is 8 * 1/M = 8/M.
After, 8 hours the no. of person in the group is reduced to half of the original strength. This group would require 2M hours to complete the job. So, the work done by this group in 1 hour is 1/2M.
This group also works for 8 hours. the work done by this group is 8 * 1/2M = 8/2M
Similarly, we can continue and the final equation wiil be
8/M + 8/2M + 8/4M + 8/8M + 8/16M = 1
Solving it, we will get
M = 31/2
