there are 5 parameters A,B,C,D,E on which MBA coaching insti being evaluated,
there are 100 coaching insti.
each insti atleast fulfils one criteria.

Parameter .................................. A B C D E
No f insti fullfiling the parameter.....33 26 39 34 19

find max & min.
No f insti which may fulfil
a)exactly one criteria,
b)exactly two,
c)exactly three ,
d)exactly 4
e)exactly 5.

Nice attempt ATDH.

There is an error that i have highlighted above as underlined. Basically it should be either f(x) = f(x+4) or f(x)+f(x+4) = 1. So you do not need to pursue further :)

Here is my solution:
[f(x+2)- 1/2]^2 = 1/4 - [f(x) - 1/2]^2
putting x=x+2
[f(x+4)- 1/2]^2 = 1/4 - 1/4 +[f(x) - 1/2]^2 = [f(x) - 1/2]^2 => f(x+4) = f(x)

Hence option b is the correct choice.

Yes....not too difficult to do so in fact! Consider this:

When an article is sold for 703 loss incured is 25% less than the profit earned on selling it at rs 836. What is the SP of the article when it earns a profit of 20%.

Loss in 1st case is 25% less i.e. 3/4 of profit in 2nd case. Think of them as 3x and 4x.
Difference is 836 - 702 = 133. Make it into 7 parts = 19 each, so 3 parts is 57 (the loss) and 4 parts is 76 (the profit). So CP is 703 + 57 = 760 and hence final SP is 760 + 76*2 =912.
