6. let no. of students failed in both the subjects = x
failed in chem = 45*600/100 - x = 270 - x
failed in phy = 35*600/100 - x = 210 - x
passed in both = 40*600/100 = 240
failed in both = 210 - x + x + 270 - x + 240 = 600---> x = 120...so option d not ?
7. let total no. of students be = 100x
passed in I = 70x
passed in II = 50x
passed in both = 500
failed in both = 20x
70x - 500 + 500 + 50x - 500 + 20x = 100x
40x = 500
x = 12.5
total no. of students = 100*12.5 = 1250 ?..so option d ?

I+II+III = 100 --- (1)
I+2II+3III = 210 --- (2)
(1)*3 - (2)
2I+II = 90
for max I, II=0...hence max I = 45....
for min I, II=max but
(2) - (1)
II+2III = 110
for max III, II=0...hence max III = 55...
for min III, II = max but
ya confirm to mera khud nhi hai, tbhi m hre.
my take
c) wud be same max - 45, min - 0
d) max - 60, min - 10 again

let CP = x
(x-703)/x = .75(836-x)/x
x-703 = 627-0.75x
1.75x = 1330
x = 760...
for 20% profit -> 1.2*760 = 912...

912 ?
cp - 703 = 75/100*(836 - cp)
cp = 760
sp = 760*120/100 = 912

5 ?
1/x - 1/6/1/6 = 20/100
x = 5
@vbhvgupta said:A bought toffee at 6 for a rupee. how many for a rupee he shd sell to gain 20%.
CP = 1/6
(1/x-1/6)/(1/6) = 0.2
x=5
hence at 5 a rupee...
