Wanted to understand a procedure to calculate the average speed :
Example :
Speed while going : 60
speed while returning : 100
Step 1 : take the ratio of speeds => 3:5
Step 2: Divide the difference of speeds by sum of ratio => 40/(3+5) = 5
Step 3 : Average speed => 60 + 3(5) = 75
I couldn't understand this method.Can someone please explain me.
Thanks in advance.

Two commandos A and B are equidistant from a target and the three are in a straight line. Another commando C stands equidistant from A and B such that the distance between him and either A or B is the same as the distance between A and B. What is the ratio of the distance between C and the target to the distance between B and the target?
