Regarding the Seats, nothing can be said as of now.. just keep ur fingers crossed:sarcasm:

We are having our Module exams, so there might be a delay in answering your queries.. pls bear with us for the time being

And yeah.. You will be on the Management Batch of 2010 Bandwagon if the list is cleared..
no differentiation between PGDIM/PGDITM/PGDISEM..

Hi,

Students with 20 months or more are considered laterals. They are placed through a different process (LRP). People with less than 20 months are considered freshers and they go through a separate process (CRP). There is no significant difference betweeen 7 and 9 months. But then during interviews you could be asked questions on whatever you have done for 7 or 9 months. So even 7 months of work ex does count :razz:

You can submit the character certificate along with other documents at the time of joining.

!. My parents fall under that percentage of population who still dont file there IT returnsso I cant get those mandatory Last 3 IT returns.

2. No one in my house is having a PAN card except me.

So, getting a loan is practically out of question for me.

Ok here goes your answer:
1. NITIE announces the average salary based on the actual offers. Strictly no manipulations/speculations in those figures. As and when the salary package is revised by a Company, it is reflected in the Placement figures. What you saw during the presentation was the actual offer based on the placements that happened way back in January first week itself.

2. Once the revised packages are announced, my personal feeling is that the average is bound to cross a sum of Rs. 13 Lacs.

could someone expand on this...
i think what we would like to know is the relative standing of NiTiE in terms of placements compared to other B-Schools

what about previous the figures put on the website?
are they an average of the initial offers as well or do u guys wait for the final offer to be made...and then update your website?

"what about other B-Schools like SJMSOM which has reported a 13+ average...even though they are rated way below Nitie...does that mean that they averaged their final offers?"

i am quoting this from pagalguy's own report on B-School placements!

The ISP Candidate results are not out yet. They are in the final stages of verificaton with the Academic section. You should be getting a mail soon about the results.

Its really really nice to see such enthusiasm... 😃
Ok.. here goes ur answer...
First some general facts:
1. There's no differentiation by a company in terms of package being offered for the same kind of profile, to students of two different B-Schools, given these B-Schools are in the top league.

2. Sometimes a profile takes priority over package whereby a person leaves a profile with a 7 figure salary to join a firm for a profile with a 6 figure salary.

3. At NITIE, only that salary is taken into consideration, against which a job offer has been accepted. For example, if I have two offers with a package X and Y, and if X > Y, and if I choose the profile which offers me the package of Y, then Y will be taken into consideration while computing the average. This is not so with many other B-Schools, reports of which have time and again been published in media and on PG. There's news of computing average
a) By taking the higher package (even though that offer was not accepted)
b) By combining all the offers and not the ones which are actually accepted
c) By combining the international and domestic offers together
Trust me none of these happen at NITIE.

4. The final placement reports is yet to be published in the media. And it should be out anytime soon. I won't be able to comment on any other B-School, but what I can say about NITIE is, no calculation is done without having an official communication from the companies.

5. As for our standing amongst other B-Schools of the same stature in terms of placements... I am sure you people would be having some contacts (as in friends) in some of these B-Schools. Try contacting them, and try getting to know the status over there in terms of final placements. You will yourself find that NITIE is no where lagging in terms of placements packages. I am asking you to do this because I am not an authorized person to comment on other B-School Placements, and rightly so.

Now to your specific queries :)
1. As for previous figures on the website, those figures are the final ones.
2. There's nothing called "the general standard for any B-School...the Initial average or the Final one". These details are revealed to the media, as a press release only.

3. As for final average to be available officially, we have to wait for some more time, for the reasons stated above.

4. As for website updation with the placement figures, the same point as number 3 applies... :)
