NITIE - 2008 -2010 Results Out!!!

Hi,

I am right now working and thinking of putting in my papers.

Now i have a bond with my company for two years of ONE LAC.

If i resign , i will only get the WORK EX certificate after paying one lac.

I would like to know whether the companies coming for recruitment ask for work ex certificate or Salary slip of last month and joining letter will do?

Please shed light on this issue as it is of high importance.

Thanks

Sherfur

Hey Sherfur,

Though the companies coming for placements do not look at any of your certificates, you need to have all the certificates including experience certificate with you, that you are going to mention in your CV either during your summers or during your finals. The reasons being:

1. The college officials will be verifying this on Day 1 of your reporting to the institute.

2. Once the IM 15 comes in and start preparing for its Summers (That is sometime in September/October this year), the placement cell would have to ensure that no one from the batch is quoting or writing some wrong facts in their CVs. This is just for the well being of the batch.

3. The companies that visit the campus, they trust us. We have built this trust from past so many years. We in the current batch need to be doubly sure of all the facts that we put forward to them. So you and your batch would have to be in the future..!!

Only an experience certificate in hard copy can verify that you have worked for sometime in some company. Don't take me wrong but words will not be enough.

Cheers,

hey my first convert of the season.....

My heartiest thanks to Team-Impact which helped us patiently right through....

Congrats to all who converted :)

Some questions, merit list people got around 1 month to submit the fees.
As waiting list will start by 18 April, will we also get 1 month or less time ?

Will joining date be around 20-22 June only as last year ( important to see when to put papers w.r.t. notice period)

I will be very thankfull if anyone can put some rough timeplan of nitie course such that modules, summers, exams

Wat u said is true but a lot of us face the same problem of paying a lakh while breaking the bond to get a certificate. I can get a bonafied certificate with a date some where in MAY which would state that I work in my company.
Will tat do along wit a pay slip of June??? I guess thr will be a lot of ppl in the senior batch who faced the same problem..PLZ HELP!!!!
Also the que of Laterals come in...How many months work x is required to be considered as a Lateral...Most of us would complete 2 years by mid June
..Would tat qualify us as a lateral!!!!
A candidate who does not join the programme after paying the tution fee and has intimated the institute of his/her decision of not joining and if this information is received in writing by the institute before commencement of the course and if the vacant seat is filled by the waitlisted candidate then the tution fee will be refunded along with the institute Caution Money Deposit, the HOstel Caution Money Deposit and the Mess Caution Money Deposit as per GOI rules.

For the above line in bold what if nitie didn't release a wl say after two rounds though before the commencement of course and i decide to vacate seat afterwards, how's it going to affect refund becoz i cannot ensure whether my seat is being alloted to someone else.......Had it been under my control i would have happily alloted it to othr aspirents....

A candidate who has completed 21 months of full-time paid work experience would be considered a lateral and wud be eligible to sit for the LRP. I dont think the bonafide wud do bcoz it does not state that u ve obliged to all the duties assigned to u by ur organisation - which is a prime clause in most relieving letters.
Lemme check if there is someone in our batch who was in a similar situation as urs in the previous year. I ll keep u updated.

thanks a lot and ya It would be a big big favour if u could give some idea on tis....cse otrwise I will have to end up paying 1 lakh!!!!!!

Hey Amit,

The waitlisted people will get sufficient time to deposit their fee... Already you know your result so you are prepared for the move... Half the job is done... isn't it... ?!

The joining date as of now is 20th of June. Normally, it's last but one Friday of June. However the official communication will be sent to you by the college.

Your first mod starts from the day of reporting. Each mod is roughly of 3 months each. The 1st Mod starts with "Groove", the induction program at NITIE and ends with 1st Mod Final Exams beginning Mid of September. Soon after that the second mod begins... where in you go for your Summer Placements, and later on Prerana happens. Then you have your 2nd Mod final exams, sometime in Mid of December... Guess this much enough for this year... Rest once you join the college... But yeah be pretty sure... its gonna real challenging and busy phase of your life and you will enjoy each moment of these... :)

Hello Arpit,

Your friend can surely get a lappy for himself/herself. There is absolutely no problem at all. The advantage you get in a bulk deal is that of service (which is a very important part of a deal like this) as the dealer has to be always on his/her toes.

Dear Vivek,

See, one thing you need to understand is that no other certificate like bona fide can replace your Work Ex Certificate. Even a payslip won't mention that you are no more an employee of that particular company. Another thing is that, if you don't carry a proper Work Ex certificate... it may later on create some problems once you want to switch over from one company to another. All these companies are very particular about your work experience once you join them. As for the amount of Rs. 1 Lacs to be paid... guess you have to make a call on that... The point I want to make is its rather better to be on the safer side now than to play a gamble for your whole life later on... You may sail through the two years of your stay in NITIE (which to me seems really difficult) but you might just face some problems in your work life sooner or later.

Still, when the college opens tomorrow, I will inquire about this and get back to you...

Hi xam_mania,

Be rest assured, NITIE won't harass you, should such a situation arise :)

Hello seniors,
When can we expect the official communication from NITIE by snail mail (read post)? I have told my PM that I would put in my papers once I receive it (though my name is in the first list already).

Or is it OK if I can resign tomorrow based on what is put up on the website?

Thanks in advance,
Nagendra

Hi I have a final convert in NITIE and would take this opportunity to thank all the puys and the seniors at NITIE for helping us through our journey. I wanted to know more about the final placement scenario at NITIE. I know the avg is 11.84 this year with a highest of 21. But a more detailed analysis would be helpful, like how many ppl got a 20+ package etc. Also i heard that NITIE calculates the avg on tha basis of the initial offers and not the final revised offers. But isnt this that all institutes do or is it unique to NITIE. Would the seniors please give us an idea about the final revised avg, highest package, the avg for laterals, avg for freshers etc. I am interested in finance, so would like to know the process to get the specialisation...is it merit based or anybody interested can take it up? Also what kind of profiles are offered for the finance domain in the final placements? Lot of question for a single post...but coudnt help asking. Hope you ppl understand the curiosity.
