Does anyone know the fee structure at NITIE. Does this 1.3 lakh we pay in the first installment include the full fees of the first year?

I remember seeing the fee structure on the IMPACT website (under the ROI calculator), but that link seems to have disappeared.

I could not locate the fees on the website or in the NITIE brochure!

2. I am planning to take an educational loan. Is it better to get it in my home town?
3. If I take a loan from a bank there, will there be any advantage?

I had not brought the character certificate and i had filled an undertaking.....seniors please confirm whether we need to produce the character certificate within 15 days from the date of announcement of results, that is 20/3/08 or within 15 days from the date when we fill the fees and get admitted @ NITIE??

Once more many congrats to all who made it to one of the IVY Leagues..!!

Now let me clarify certain points:

1. Regarding Fee: The Fees of Rs. 130,500/- is for entire first year. The next installment will have to be paid by you in your 2nd year, that is sometime in July 2009. Note that, it includes your Tution Fee/Exam/Library Fee/Hostel Accommodation and excludes Mess Charges/Laptops/Books. I will put the detailed structure as soon as I get it from the college.

2. Regarding Education Loan: We are in negotiation with certain banks that are close to our Campus. We will divulge all the information once something concrete happens. However, if you wish to get it from home its your choice. As for our batch, almost the whole batch barring 1 or 2, has taken it from here only.
Note that, In case you decide to go for a loan, then right now you would have to pay the fee from your side. Once you join the college, the fee you paid will be reimbursed to you by the bank on producing the fee-receipt.

3. Regarding a Rough Idea of Total Expenses during your 2 years stay: It should be within the range of Rs. 4 Lacs/- The breakup of this is roughly like this:
College Tution Fee: Approx Rs. 260,000/-
Mess Charges: Approx Rs. 50,000/-
Laptop: Approx Rs. 50,000/-
Miscellaneous (includes Books and Blazers if you want one): Rs. 40,000/-

4. Regarding Character Certificate: Those who had to sign an undertaking for either character certificate or for any other certificate, they have to compulsorily submit it within 15 days of coming to the campus, that is, within 15 days of starting of classes.

5. Regarding Laptops: We are again in negotiations (for Bulk Deal) with some of the leading manufacturers for the best possible configurations at the most affordable of the prices. Once the picture gets clearer we will be communicating to you all the details.

Rs.1.3L is de entire fees for the first yr! Rest wud be your expenses on food and stuff :)
2nd yr fee wud also be arnd the same figure (minus the caution deposit part)

A candidate who does not join the programme after paying the tution fee and has intimated the institute of his/her decision of not joining and if this information is received in writing by the institute before commencement of the course and if the vacant seat is filled by the waitlisted candidate then the tution fee will be refunded along with the institute Caution Money Deposit, the HOstel Caution Money Deposit and the Mess Caution Money Deposit as per GOI rules.
