Can you please throw some light as to when can we get some kind of written confirmation from NITIE regarding our admission confirmation. I have not received any and i am currently facing the biggest problem of losing the money that i have submitted for IMT (G). I am in a big dilemma right now. I stand to lose quite a lot on either side. Could you please help me?

Hey Amit,
There's no ATM inside the campus... We are pushing for it... And in all probability we will get one installed (by SBI) before we leave the campus next year... 😉
But, in case if you have an account in SBI, then the SBI branch is inside the campus... and typically it takes 2-5 minutes to get your money from this branch as the crowd is not too big... :)

Its mentioned in the brochure (Though not the exact date)... Please refer to it..! Do note that last date for the Last Wait List is till 25th of May...

You can call up the college for the confirmation. If they are confirming over the phone, then you can take their words... (And if you are joining IM, then as per my calculations you should easily be in)
They are in the process of sending emails to all the confirmed people... Also, you will get the receipt of the fee you paid, once you join the college...
Also, what is the venue, date & timing details for Impressions' 2008 held @ Bangalore ?
For Impressions '08 @ Bangalore, do get in touch with Pankaj, who is in charge of the meet over there... His number you can find out in the invite... :)

About the refund: I had couriered the cancellation request to NITIE on the 2nd of May, and called them up today to ask them about the progress so far. They've replied that they've processed the refund, and that I should expect it in a day or two. I'll post here once I receive it.

Have been pretty occupied with job relieving things for past few days and so could not participate in the activities here though was watching all that was happening.
I have also got through waitlist. I was waitlisted @ 2 for ITM-3.
I had been to NITIE today just to re-confirm. The officials in Admissions office were really very cordial and helpful. They offered me a tea while they were getting required documents.
Finally a big relief came..He handed me over a admission confirmation letter.
He said that these letters are sent to all who have confirmed their admissions after waiting list clearances. So people waiting for confirmationschill, the letter is on its way and as seniors have mentioned you can withdraw your admissions from other institutesbut do this only after confirming it yourself on phone with admissions office.
We would be given the payment receipts on the day of reporting.
They were avoiding about disclosing the number of clearances from waitlist and rightly so.
So I am sorry I can not help on this.

For folks waiting for refund: I've just received a cheque in my name for fees refund. They have deducted Rs. 1000/- as cancellation and processing charges as per GoI rules, and refunded the remaining amount.

I am Waitlisted 85 at IIM-L , and if at all the WL there moves so much, it will be sometime in mid-June. If this happens and the complete WL of NITIE gets converted before that then , even if I leave the seat it will not be occupied by anyone and I shall stand to lose all my fees. so Is such a thing possible that the whole WL is converted and no new WL is released? The WL at IIM-L moved till 85 last year and the latest movements were in mid June so I reckon there will at least be someone who must have left NITIE. So could anyone tell me what had happened in that case? No ways I am going to cancel my admission at NITIE lest IIM-L gets converted but the answers to these questions shall clear the picture for someone who might be in the striking distance of any other IIM . So please reply.

I ll be landing in mumbai on 18th, with my dad. Does nitie provide acco facility for my dad too till college starts (on payment basis in a guest house or something)? or are there good hotels nearby to help? Could seniors suggest?

I attended the impressions meet in mumbai yesterday and it was fantastic.
Got a chance to meet a couple of seniors (amit and anshul) and a couple of my would be batchmates (ramanathan and ajit). It was more of an informal outing and was a lot of fun. The seniors gave us an insight into wat to expect at Nitie (also about the various commitees and forums) and helped clear the doubts that any one of us had... I really enjoyed myself and the pav bhaji and ice cream treat was the icing on the cake.. . I think this was a great initiative and kudos to seniors.They rock man.
HEY PPL...... i was wait listed for PGDIM in wl2 # 32....... i just called NITIE for d confirmation they told me dat i m selected ....so people below me in WL can be assure of their addmission....u can also confirm d same by callng dem....... ant ways rite now i m really feelng at d top of dis world....hvng convert d best call i had.....

the director n HR of the company i was working in refused to give a character certi....n i cannot get the certi from my engg. college as it very far away frm my place of residence....however, i managed to get a character certi on the company's letterhead from a senior software engineer under whom i did all my projects... is this sufficient???

Yes , your dad can stay in NITIE guest house or MDP hostel. That would be the best and cheapest option for you.
In terms of good hotels.. there is hotel renaissance and hotel residence nearby

Hey can you elaborate a bit on this. I have called up authorities and they have said that receipt will only be available when we reach Nitie. Was your name in the Wait list or the first list? A bit more of information will be appreciated:cheerio:

I talked to one of the members of Team Impact reg the same.
He told that a certificate by a gazetted officer will also work fine in case we dnt have any other option to get it.
