hi i currently got selected as AO in UIIC in 2013 batch and there are also chance of mine getting selectd as bank po through IBPs so i wanted to know which is better bank po or AO in uiic?????
I am a PO trying to become a AO. 😞
Choose PO if you are ambitious, want to be busy all time and enjoy the glamour of being in bank job. Prefer AO if you want to have good work life balance and dont care about how attractive your designation and the place where you work will be for others.
Hi, I am 28 yrs old and an MBA from a reputed college. I have a total of 3years of experience of which 2 years as Business Analyst (service Industry: prone to layoffs and recession) in healthcare and Pharma sector. Currently I am working as Business analyst in a Big Pharma MNC in Hyderabad. Due parents' wish I had applied for IBPS bank PO exam and got selected in syndicate bank. I am currently drawing a salary of 5.5 lac per annum from my current organisation, with Rs 38000 p.m as take home pay. Now everybody including my parents are advising me to go for BANK PO job as it offers security, but I am in a big big dilemma. Not at all able to decide what to do...and I have a very less time to think upon. I need some guidance from any expert individual who can help me in this time. My email is [email protected]. Contact: 7738585985 . I as such dont like bank job but on the other hand I am not much aware of what actully bank job profile would be, May be it would be good and my disliking for it may not be right without knowing it. Please I need urgent guidance from some expert
Warning of ICICI Bank PO prog:
1) Hefty loan amount which you'll need to repay with 15% interest if you leave.(approx 3.5 lacs or more)
2) They will keep your marksheets(10,12 and grad) so that you couldn;t apply anywhere and as a loan security.
3) Your salary after 12 months of training will be approx 19000 p.m. only after EMI and other deductions which is the salary of a clerical grade person in PSBs.
4) work profile will not necessarily be of a manager, rather you'll be required to go door to door for selling saving accounts, life insurance.
5) Listen to rash language of your boss if you could not sell any product for a day.
6) working hours will be 11 to 12 hours
7) Bondage to work at least 5 years or pay lacs of money.
Friends, ICICI Bank is a private entity made for earning profit. This programme is also a product of this bank being sold to jobseekers. This programme is having multitude of profits for the bank. They get employees who work for less payment(bcoz of EMI deduction) and they can't leave the job too as they'll need to pay a hefty sum which a middle class person can't afford. If somehow the employee even leave the job, s/he will need to repay the loan @ 15% interest....again a profit for bank.
This loan scheme is better than a fixed bond which most companies execute with new recruits. This is a strategy of this bank to stop its ever increasing attrition rate.
The only good part of this course is your 9 months training in Bangalore.
Pls be free to ask queries.....I don't want others to suffer becoz of this programme. This prog has made me suffer and today I am jobless at 26 age.....only n only becoz of this prog.
However, I don't want to discourage the aspirants as what happened with me might not happen to others. You can visit ICICI's Bank branch and observe and talk to employees there. You can join this course if no other option is available as job is essential. But make an informed decision.
Reply to ask your doubts.
after reading some post ..i hav become really apprehensive and cynical whether i shud go for po job or not :/

In a few months I shall complete three years at the service of my bank.
In this short period I have worked in three states and a union territory, Yay!!!

Are there any advantages of having an MBA or Post Grad Degree once someone becomes a Bank PO?
I get similar queries time and again in my inbox, so I am posting this piece here:
#TCS #SBI #UPSC #SocialSciences #IT
Puy: Hello Winner_iima. I have read some of your posts and been greatly influenced by your approach to the career. I have query and hope you can guide me. I work with TCS for last 3yrs. Not at all enjoy the work. Got selected as SBI PO now. Will be writing UPSC mains as well, the for 2nd time this yr. Age 25. I am excited about working with SBI. Reason is opportunity to serve our own people. But I have one ambition.-- I want to go for higher education in Social Sciences.. because I love to study Sociology/labour and want to pursue it from very good college (like TISS or foreign university)Q - will I get opportunity in SBI to go ahead for such education later after say 2-3 yr of experience? I hope you would find time to respond me. I would be honored by your reply. Thank you.
Me: Dear Puy, its indeed a pleasure to know that you liked my post.
Mission UPSC:
In TCS you will be in a city life, no matter how much your job sucks, life and lifestyle after office can be according to your wish. You may also bump upon a good peer group to study together. Books, Magazines, internet, electricity and other such necessities will always be at your disposal. If you don't cook, you can always make arrangements. In a nutshell, for an exam as rigorous as UPSC, I feel its better to stick to TCS from preparation point of view.
Mission further studies in labour/sociology:
With reference to my earlier posts, I can say SBI will give you lot of exposure regarding people. depending on your posting, you will get to learn different things. A rural stint would take you closer to the actual India. You may or may not get all the time and comfort to prepare for an exam, but it will definitely add flavor to your life, give you satisfaction and also look good on your CV than a shitty US/UK project. 😁 But then in a bank, posting is very crucial for what you experience.
It was my observation. Hope it helps. The final call should be yours after taking an in-depth assessment of your situation.
Puy: Your information is really helpful. I have decided to quit TCS. I would join SBI. Thanks a lot Sir.
