hi

answers to ur queries are as follows:

1. There is little possibility of getting home town posting. If u r very lucky then only u may get ohome posting.

2. Salary wud be around rs 28000 as u r basic wud be rs 14,500.

3. Work profile of bankpo job is very risky.....lots of monetary risk involve and if any mistake happen then no will hear and u have to pay money too.....lots of customer dealing and it is toughest part of bank loan job as today's competition has make custom king! So in short u may be treated a badly by them......working hrs are very long with little compensation and sometimes Sunday is also working..... Most of the banks have vacancies in rural India....so u can think how the life can be....

and who says job is secure in bank post job?????

Work pressure is so high.....Stress level is great and if u commit any mistake which is quite possible then that day ur job is no more secure........and these days, there is big possibility of frauds then again ur job is not secure...

I also left It job for bankpo with the feel that I will never regret my decision but I might really repenting my decision.....

I will suggest u to stick to IT world as u may get more chances of going abroad in future and in IT there is technical risk involve.....not monetary and accept IT trend of pink slips....If someday u have to face that situation then u will get other Job too.....and instead of searching so called secure jobs...Make ur future financially sound by taking right medicaid policy, term insurance plans and right investment decisions...

hope so my this post will help u to take right decision and after this bank post job I have to begin my new journey in a new career again....as new blood does not feel to stuck in such type of jobs.

Is there any policy that bound initial two year as bank po service should b in small town and villages ?..

My concern is that the banks these days r providing link up MBA via manipal university and then they recruit them as po,,i guess bank wont put these po in villages and small towns after such program..
wht are the chances that a candidate being allotted with developed city(nt sayng metro city) ..

Hi all,

I got the offer of employment in ubi as a PO in Ahmedabad and I am currently serving the notice period in my current organization (Tech Mahindra as a Sr. Manual Tester)

Here is the situation:

When I left college in 2010, I loathed both IT and Bank Job and wanted to get admission in one of the elite Management institutions then get a high paying job no matter in what field (wrong approach but that's the way things are)

Gave the MBA exams in 2010 didn't get selected anywhere and finally got a job in tech mahindra Hyderabad. Didn't like it at first but got adjusted to it in 2 years and 7 months. Gave CAT twice after getting the job, scored 96 and 94 in 2011 and 2012 respectively and then gave up (Why? Because average profiles don't get shortlisted even if you manage to score 99)

Accidentally cleared the bank PO exam (gave it in June 2012) and have got this opportunity. I have already put down the papers in my current organization and 31 October 2013 is my last working day.

Here are the problems that I face:

CURRENT JOB PROFILE & ORGANIZATION: As a manual UAT tester, I have no technical expertise at all. What we do is what any other person can do and nothing special. I don't mind doing it but the issue is the dearth of jobs that have prevailed since December 2012. I have managed to secure only 4 calls in 10 months and they too want immediate joining at unreasonably low salary. I spent the last 2 years of my life studying my a** off for the CAT exam and never looked as IT as a career for myself and so never did any specialization. But now that I have accepted it (partially); I have to leave.
The organization on the other hand has also become untenable and leaving it has become a necessity. Since the completion of merger with Satyam, we have been bombarded with employee un-friendly policies; so switching the job in the current situation is a must and PO has offered a way.

CONCERNS ABOUT PO LIFE: My uncle works in OBC and have always told me NEVER to join a bank job. Too much tension involved and you would be thrown anywhere anytime. Family will be disturbed every 3 years and of-course the postings will not always be in good places. From what I have been advised by him and other reviews that I have read elsewhere, the job as a PO and the banking career further ahead is in no way the "sarkari naukari" that we think it is and I know I will hate it. The job is not secure, as many others have pointed out several times and transfers will be as issue throughout the life.

My parents want me to join the bank job since they think of it as a government job like any other and have no idea about the situation in IT or in Banks. I, on the other hand, don't want to join but I have absolutely no choice at all. As mentioned before, leaving the current organization is a necessity.

I am going through the second worse phase of my life and it is like having to chose between two equally bad situations. IT life is good for youngsters but we can't spend the whole life in it due to the cut-throat competition and unbelievable work pressure (at least that has been the case in my short IT career) and a PO job is also no easy one plus you will be working on weekends with 12 hr days (9:30 AM to 9:30 PM)

Quite a confused person..... ain't I?😐

hi puys...any idea about where markrting officiers are placed after qualifying so exam.. i mean zonal offices or head offices...or else..mgmgmg plz reply...

@praneethreddy5

I cn bet tht IT job is lot better than a Bank PO on any day. Am one victim who suffered a lot being a bank po and recently escaped. Dont do any such mistakes lik leaving an IT job for Bank po.

But uptill what age can you do IT job 40 - 47 not beyond that right . . .bank job u can do uptill sixty that too with job security. . .

Also there are no increaments in IT too these days and there are always thousands of competitors ready to replace your position so you have to be on your toes always and thats why there are lots of heart attach cases, Blood Pressure cases in IT, even we have to work on week ends and minimum 10 hours its always and sometimes it may goes upto 14 hours a day. There is always a sword on your head . . . In a way govt. employees are more healthy and more secured in terms of job.
