I don't think so ...... the CTC in a banking company or say bank is calculated in a different manner while in any other company CTC directly related to the take home salary but in banking industry they add many more things which do not add up in your take home salary but they still count ..... like house lease rent..... in federal bank i think they pay around 10-12k / month for lease rent which is not available in any of the private companies(non-banking) it won't show in your salary but bank still count this while calculating CTC same is with the bonus/ex-gratia paid by banks there are many more examples. I know many people who gt placed through B-School placements in BOB,UCO bank and trust me no one is getting 45k take home salary so in my opinion your brother will draw around 25-26k take home salary plus perks.

Is working as Bank PO during Probation Period also counted as work exp ? I saw in adv. of RBI Grade B officer that "For experience, probationary period will not be reckoned" .

First of all congratulations on your grand success now moving to your question its all about individual choices in my opinion both banks have their own pros and cons. Both are kerala based bank where SBT is leader in PSB and federal in private sector so first difference you should think about is wether to choose public sector or private sector since SBT is going to merge in SBI sooner or later which can be huge in terms of exposure , brand value and facilities on the other hand federal bank which is a leading old generation pvt sector bank offer some really great perks and facilities to his employees which is not available in many PSBs. 2nd point to think about is SBT is largely based in KErala and southern states so you should be ready to move down there and you don;t have much options but federal bank has pan india presence so there are more options in case of posting. Last but not the least is being all the facility is almost same in both the banks with SBT having a slight edge , it will take atleast 3-4 years to become an officer but as you say you have an offer to join as a PO in federal bank so monetarily it will be huge if you see 4 years salary + savings ...... so you have to decide which path you should take ...... All the best with your decision.
