Inception - The Annual Cultural, Music and Food Fest

of Goa Institute of Management hosted a spectacular event ‘Open Mic’, where talents came to life on stage. There was joy, applause and wonder as the atmosphere filled with enchanting musical performances, amazing dances and riveting acts. The stage came alive with passion and the world was introduced to the interests, creativity and skills of GIM’s multi-talented students.

Participating in this delightful and inclusive event was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for the students. The palpable sense of unity and positivity that permeated the occasion left an indelible mark on each student, shaping their perspectives and enriching their personal and academic journeys.

Samarthan - The Corporate Social Responsibility Club of Goa Institute of Management, organised ‘Daan Utsav’ to extended the commitment of nurturing not only future leaders but also a sustainable future for all. During Daan Utsav, GIM students took the institution’s CSR commitments to a new level by conducting a sapling plantation drive in Municipality park, Panjim.

Under the sun’s warmth, saplings were planted, promoting the values of giving back and environmental responsibility. The event emphasised that CSR goes beyond the classroom, starting with small actions that create a significant impact.

The event made the participants rejoice in the spirit of generosity and embrace sustainability as key aspect of their overall growth. This ensured a holistic approach to their development, complementing their management curriculum.

In an exhilarating adaptation of Cricket, Prayas - The Sports Club of Goa Institute of Management organised a game of Gully Cricket.

This fiercely competitive version of the beloved sport of cricket served as a vibrant reflection of the spirit and enthusiasm of the students. Beyond sixes and fours, gully cricket brought people together, fostering a sense of community.

The game induced the crowd with a strong energy and brought upon a multitude of reactions from them. It served as a platform for students to unwind, promoting camaraderie and sportsmanship that left everyone satisfied and in high spirits.

Immersed in the vibrant tunes of heritage, the campus of Goa Institute of Management resonated with cultural fervour during the ‘Bengali Bhoj’, a spectacular celebration orchestrated by RaZzMaTaZz - The Cultural Club of GIM in collaboration with the Health Club. The atmosphere was electrified by the tremendous enthusiasm of the students, the graceful Dhunuchi dance, and the soul-stirring melodies of traditional songs. The fusion of these elements created a tapestry of joy, capturing the essence of Durga Puja.

Enveloped in the captivating aroma of togetherness, attendees reveled in the euphoria of the festivities. As the evening unfolded, a delectable dinner featuring a medley of Indian delights brought the celebration to a delicious close, leaving everyone with cherished memories of a night filled with tradition and culinary delights.

Garba Night, organised by RaZzMaTaZz - The Cultural and Heritage Club of Goa Institute of Management, was a vivid celebration of Navratri’s lively spirit.

In a recent accolade for the Goa Institute of Management, the institution’s PGDM - Big Data Analytics (BDA) programme has clinched the prestigious third position in the Analytics India Magazine’s esteemed ranking of AIM Top Ranked PG Data Science Programs (Full Time On-Campus) 2023 in India.

The House of Cards event at Goa Institute of Management organised by Mecca - The Marketing Club of GIM, was a multifaceted competition that not only tested participants’ marketing knowledge but also incorporated engaging game simulated real-world business scenarios.

With games reminiscent of a real life market, participants engaged in strategic buying and selling activities, mirroring the complexities of market transactions. This unique blend of theoretical knowledge and practical application added an exciting and immersive element to the event.

On this 62nd Goa Liberation Day, Goa Institute of Management remembers the sacrifices of the Indian armed forces who liberated Goa from Portuguese rule after 450 years. Operation Vijay, the military operation that led to Goa’s freedom, serves as a reminder of the Indian Army’s fortitude and the unwavering spirit of the Goan people.

To honor the courage of the armed forces, The Indian National Flag was hoisted at Goa Institute of Management by Dr Ajit Parulekar, Director, GIM. During the event, he emphasised the significance of a commitment to preserving Goa’s rich cultural heritage and underscored the importance of Liberation Day for Goan community.

GIM reaffirms its commitment to preserving the foundation of its culture on this historic day as the country recognises the bravery of the freedom fighters who fought for the liberation of Goa.

The Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Conclave, organised by Goa Institute of Management in collaboration with Global Compact Network, India, and Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, hosted a gathering of corporate minds and industry leaders who indulged in the theme of ‘Lead, Act, and Report on Environment, Social, and Governance: Dialogue for a Sustainable Future.’

Industry leaders shared their insights, collectively emphasising why ESG considerations are crucial for the long-term success of any business.

The focus fell on the pressing need for businesses to adopt eco-friendly practices with discussions ranging from reducing carbon footprints to implementing sustainable supply chain management. As a cornerstone of sustainable business practices, panel talks centered on transparency, ethical decision-making, and responsible leadership.

Fueled by the passion and dedication of basketball, Prayas - The Sports Club of Goa Institute of Management, organised PlayOff, an exhilarating basketball series pitting PGP-1 against PGP-2. Demonstrating impeccable game strategy, PGP-1 showcased their A-game, clinching a resounding 2-0 triumph over PGP-2 in the PlayOff series at GIM.

PlayOff 1.0 set the tone as PGP-1 showcased their skills, outshining PGP-2 with precise passes and clutch shots. The court became a battleground, but PGP-1 emerged victorious, leaving the crowd on their feet. PlayOff 2.0 was a continuation of the saga, with PGP-1 refusing to back down. The resilience on display was unmatched as they sealed the series with another remarkable win.

Amidst the echoes of a hard-fought clash, the final whistle marked not just a game’s end but the birth of enduring sportsmanship. In that shared moment of triumph, PlayOff concluded with a radiant glow of hope and affirmation, uniting GIM community and players in joyous celebration.



The Jumanji event held at the Goa Institute of Management was a captivating competition meticulously organised by Invicta, GIM’s Operations and Consulting Club. A multi-level challenge that put participants through various games which tested their coordination, problem-solving skills, and teamwork.

Divided into three levels, the competition began with ‘Mazze,’ where one team member, blindfolded, relied on guidance from the others to navigate through a maze. The second level involved arranging cans in specific patterns within a limited time frame, testing participants’ strategic thinking. Lastly, teams engaged in a water-splashing challenge to eliminate opponents until the last standing team emerged victorious.

Beyond the sheer enjoyment of the event, students were confronted with team management challenges that assessed their grasp of team dynamics. The amalgamation of physical challenges and strategic tasks contributed to the overall success of the Jumanji event, providing participants with an exceptional and unforgettable experience.



The recently concluded Goa Business Connect, organised by the Goa Institute of Management in collaboration with the Global Saraswat Chamber of Commerce, proved to be a significant catalyst for fostering entrepreneurial spirit in Goa. Themed around ‘Indic-preneurs: Gazelles at the Grassroots,’ the event aimed to accentuate entrepreneurship while adapting quintessential Indian ethos and values.

Mecca - The Marketing Club of Goa Institute of Management (GIM) recently hosted an exciting event ‘Byomkesh for Brands’, a unique blend of detective work and marketing knowledge. Inspired by the famous detective Byomkesh Bakshi, participants were challenged to solve a murder mystery through clues drawn from the world of branding. These clues ranged from brand names to jingles, adding a creative twist that demanded both analytical and marketing skills.

Participants worked through various puzzles, relying on their understanding of brand strategies and their ability to connect seemingly unrelated marketing elements. The event tested not only their knowledge of branding but also their critical thinking and problem-solving abilities in an engaging and interactive setting.

‘Byomkesh for Brands’ proved to be an enriching experience, combining the thrill of a mystery with practical insights into marketing. It fostered teamwork, enhanced participants’ brand recall, and showcased the innovative approach GIM takes towards experiential learning.

Celebrating Bengal’s rich traditions, the event featured iconic performances such as Dhunuchi dance, Sindur Khela accompanied by music, dance and other cultutal performances that reflected the cultural significance of the occasion.

In addition to the performances, attendees enjoyed a specially curated dinner featuring traditional Bengali dishes, which added an authentic touch to the celebration. The event offered a platform for students to experience and appreciate diverse cultural traditions in a shared space, making the Bengali Bhoj a cherished event on campus.
