The doctor said, "We were unable to rescue her.” I could not believe I had just lost my mother, so I simply stood there in misery. A fifteen-year-old will surely find it difficult to accept these words. The days that followed were even more difficult, with a range of emotions. Not only did I have to deal with the loss of my best friend, but my education also seemed to be at stake as I could not focus on anything.
However, I put a lot of effort for my 12th board examinations and finished first in my school, which opened up many opportunities for me. After persuading my family that I needed to leave the house to pursue my education further and learn how to live independently, I started a new life in Mumbai.
I struggled to identify my interests when I began studying for both the Company Secretary (CS) and BCom courses concurrently. Due to my experience as a company secretary, I realised that law was where I felt most at home, therefore I began studying LLB at Mumbai University. Along with that, I pursued my MA and MCom via remote learning since I have a variety of interests. However, I realised that these courses were not my cup of tea.
After some analysis, I discovered that my interest is in analytics specialisation, which led me to pursue an MBA. I finally converted GIM, which was incredibly significant for me. I knew there would be no turning back. I was asked this question more frequently than ever throughout my life: “Why MBA after studying so many other courses?” I still give the same response, saying that I did not want to settle in a place in life where I do not belong and that it is okay to make wrong choices. Some people take time to figure out life and it is okay if you are one of them as life is not a sprint but a relay.
