Guys, those who have not received the "shortlist email", please log into your application portal and check whether you have been shortlisted or not. I was shortlisted on Saturday but didn't receive the email. Only when I checked the application portal did I come to know about it. I wrote to the Adcom and they sent me a copy of the email today.
Its very important that you get a copy of the email as it contains a link which you MUST click to accept the interview invitation.
I had bombed my YLP interviews. I now hope to retake the GMAT (for other schools) and reapply in EEO Cycle-2. Will I be treated differently? Would I be required to submit whole essays again, or would they only ask for the 'what has changed in the past six months/ how have you improved' essay? Will I have an option in that?
My GMAT score was 710.
I'm a final year student. Non engineer from a premier institute. Good co-curriculars, leadership positions, social work experience. GPA- 7.5.
Can someone please suggest what should be my next step?
Question to the consultants primarily... If one has a pre-mba annual salary that is already higher than that received by the average isb graduate post mba, does his her application get seen as a little unfavourable? As it may be better off giving the interview to someone who stands to gain a lot more roi out of an mba?
At this point, I'll even take a rejection. Turns out I'm not very good at patiently waiting. Anyone else having similar thoughts? Or is it just ol' pessimistic me? 😞
Can anyone help me in understanding what kind of profile would be needed for getting into ISB even after clearing GMAT with the needed score? I have a work experience of 4.3 years. What does ISB look for in their candidates?
There are broadly 4 key parameters on which you might be judged during an interview: Teamwork abilities, leadership, analytical skills and communication skills.
Behavioural questions give you a chance to drive the interview in the direction you want. For example, in the beginning, you would be asked to give your introduction and you can end the introduction with something that can be a great conversation starter or some achievement about which you want to talk about. Something like "And lastly, with my previous employer I executed XYZ project under tight deadlines, something I am really proud of". This gives a bait to the interview to ask more about the project and then you can fit in a leadership/teamwork story.
Infact, it is easier than thought to drive the interview the way you want. Generally candidates end up saying statements that they are not sure of and they are asked cross questions , leading to stress. So besides preparing for regular interview format, understand that you can drive the interview too. All the best!
Are interviews in Hyderabad still going on? Are people still getting invited to interviews in Hyderabad? or is the concentration only on Delhi and Mumbai now?
