Yup waiting for results.....like big_dreams said.....hope lives on .....good luck to all us guys

Well said guys...
This wait is just too much!!
Had my interview on the 12th and the results are expected on 15th Dec. Thats more than a month!!!
Have absolutely no enthu for work, but my boss is constantly on my back, asking me to complete my task :wow:

I have already applied for leave from the 15th Dec to 1st Jan!!
It will be either to celebrate or to sit and drown my sorrows till the
new year, depending on the ISB results ??:

BFY while we wait for the D-Day, few questions for you
(1) Last year, was the R1 result declared before the due date or what ?
(2) Can we expect the results on weekends also (8th/15th Dec) - Is ISB AdCom open ?
(3) I presume that Results will be sent through sms/email. Will the unfortunate one's also get the REJECTION sms/email (or they have to go to website to check their Result) ** Just beginning to get Nervous - As they say Empty Mind is a Devil's Workshop **
(4) Some time back IIMB disclosed their Selection Criterion where-in Interview was carrying just 20% weightage (and rest was CAT score,X/XII score, Work-Ex, profile etc.) - Does ISB also follow a similar criterion (at least on a high-level) or Performance in Interview is everything which matters here.

Thanks
dmvars(710/7.5 yrs IT xp - Awaiting R1 result)

Does anyone have a script for finding out the num of times the refresh button/F5 has been hit per minute?
cz im damn sure tat one of us (me :satisfie:) wud get the guiness book entry for that...thot of making some bucks in the whole process of waiting

I'm not an authority here. But there should be certain broad criteria but it is not bracketized or compartmentalized like 20% on A, 30% on B etc.

Thanks for posting the dates, shago. Can you pl. post the link as well? I was not able to find the dates on ISB website.

Folks any idea by when they let you know if you have been shortlisted for interview? and how flexible they are with the dates. Going by above dates, it is likely to clash with my vacation plans.

Hi, the interview dates are linked to this page: (click on the interview dates - cycle 2)
ISB - Online Application Portal

The site says that candidates shortlisted for interview will be intimated a week before their interview schedule. For R1 candidates, the adcom sent the SMS/eMail around a month after the R1 application cut off, i.e.. the week of 15th October. (Which happens to be around 10 days before the start of the earliest R1 interviews from 25th Oct in Pune & Chennai).

Regarding the flexibility of iview dates, if shortlisted, you may want to revert to the adcom requesting for an alternate date. I did see other candidates posting similar concerns, not sure if they got their dates changed. So, wait for the SMS/eMail and check with the adcom. As you are based out of the US; even if your iview schedule is changed, it will probably be within the 21st-30th Jan international iviews window. (Unless you are allowed to opt for a personal interview in any other city)

But IMHO, unless you have no other alternative, better stick to the iview schedule as given by ISB since they may have taken your profile into consideration and set up the original interview with an adcom panel that will be in a better position to evaluate your candidature.

Thanks for the detailed response, "expedite". Our vacation plans fall right in the middle of the interview dates for international candidates. So, we do have couple of days before and after.

Given that international candidates have phone interviews, do you know if these phone interviews are conducted by someone in the same country/state/city or are they conducted India?

Once again, thanks for your response.

Hi, from the FAQs section on the ISB applications portal :

"3) What will be the mode of my interview if I am overseas at the time of interview?
You will be interviewed over telephone. You have to call the telephone number given in the interview mail sent to you."

From what I understand (based on the experiences posted by other international candidates), the interviews are conducted from India, i.e. you will be given a +91 phone number to call-in for your interview. - Would request 'BornForYou' (who is a current ISB student) or any R1 international interviewee to validate this.

Even if you are on vacation at the time of your interview and the adcom is unable to reschedule, you should be able to take an hour off, lock yourself into a hotel room/phone booth and call into the number. Wait for the call and reach out to the adcom to see how best they can accomodate your request.

Thanks again expedite for this info. You are right; I just checked this entire thread and one has to call a +91 number. ISB is also flexible wrt the dates. In the worst case, I can call them up from my vacation spot, provided I'm not in flight at that time! :-)

Muchos Gracias! And Best Luck with your admission to ISB.

Hi,
I am starting my preparation for ISB. Please share your experience on how to start the preparation.

Hi, From your "starting my preparation for ISB" I assume that you are not an applicant this year and are aiming for 2009-10 academic year... so probably GMAT prep related threads should be your best bet. (If you have not yet taken your GMAT)

Since this thread is usually frequented by folks who have completed their interviews or are waiting for a call this year, you can probably post your request on the 'Aiming for ISB' thread in this forum at this link : http://www.pagalguy.com/discussions/aiming-for-isb-25015252

Thanks Buddy & best of luck to All of you .

Yes, the ISB is quite flexible with international candidates.
I had got a mail from them on 18th of Oct and the telephonic interview was scheduled on 2nd Nov. However, the timing was a problem for me , so I requested them to reschedule it in a time window I had provided. The ISB folks agreed to it asap and I finally had my telephonic interview (Yes it is a India number which the candidate has to call. To be more specific it is a HYD number) on the 12th of Nov at a time more convinient to me. :)

You are perfectly correct. ISB also understands that sometimes applicants get posted to different locations due to professional reasons. So applicants can inform ISB when such a thing happens and interview locations/mode can be suitably worked out.

For all the R1 candidates who are waiting for the results to be announced.... just a little something to stare at, to kill time, till the clock ticks over to the 15th of Dec 07 :

Hey...
Is this some sadistic attempt mocking at our restlessness??
Nice idea but believe me.. this is the last thing you would like to see when you are waiting for the results..

Hi BFU,

Do the ones not selected for the interview in R2 also get a email...or only the ones selected get an email....
