All the best to all of us folks waiting for the results!!!
Hi All, First of all a big thank you to all who posted the interview experiences. There are many like me who benefited from your efforts! Now its time to post mine :- I had my interview on 22 November. Location :- Bangalore Time :- 9 AM Reached the venue , Windsor Manor hotel , at 8.15 AM. Met 4 candidates there. We were chatting till around 8.45 AM , when we were called inside. We were given one topic each to write essay about and I was given the topic "Conflict". Guys , some details here. Essay word limit is approximately 100 words . A pre printed sheet is given with a space to write the our application details and then a box below to write the essay. I started writing the essay at around 8.50 AM and by 9 AM , the interviewer called me , when I was only half way through ! The interviewer being a friendly person gave me around 5 mins more to finish. Well as you would have guessed , the essay was written in a haste and so I dont think it was the best I could do. Then started the interview . There was one person in the panel at the start and one more person joined later. Here are the questions :- 1. About my travel as mentioned in essay. 2. About differences between team leader and team player. 3. Example of a good leader but bad team player. 4. About my leadership experiences. 5. Real life experiences of managing my teams aspiration 6. How would I handle a situation of team - The prof. gave one situation. 7. Any questions to us Duration : - 20 -25 mins. My Profile :- Work Experience :- 5 Years in IT GMAT :- 730 Academics :- Class 10 - 91 % Class 12 - 82 % Engg - 74 % My extra curricular activities and other parameters , I believe , cannot be judged by me as good , bad , medium etc since they are very relative ,so not posting the same. Please let me know if you need any further details / assistance.
Had my interview last week. I think I screwed it up royally.
Questions were pretty much the standard ones. But the interview panel did not seem to be impressed with any of the answers that I gave them. (Or probably they were trying to do a stress interview)
However, I believe I've managed to keep my cool n handle the situation. My interview went on for around 40 minutes, with the last 3 minutes for my questions. (By far the longest interview duration that I've come across.) Still, I've lost all hopes in ISB now. Just preparing myself mentally for a reject by dec. :(
Does any one have a clue about the interview panel acting dissatisfied n still evaluating something else n eventually selecting the candidate. Just trying to find some consolation from the debacle.
As expected, the interview revolved around my essays..few minutes spent on my business actvities and how it all started..I have been managing a BPO with 170 employees for the past 2 years and have clients from US and UK ! Before this I worked in IT for 3.5 yrs !! Later the panel switched on to my extra curricular activities..an exhaustive list !! Was given a business case study in the end...I think didnt do too well with it !!! Am not in a position to judge how I fared in the interview..Only time would tell !!

Log into Yahoo groups once every hour, check for updates on Pagalguy every 30 mins... every SMS makes your heart skip a beat ... just to make sure you dont miss 'the' mail you even read the mails in the spam folder... you cant concentrate on work anymore... you keep checking the calendar... why are there so many days in a week ? Your fingers are itching to dailup the adcom folks and see if they can give you a sneak preview of the results.... Why cant the ISB folks put us out of our collective misery... Tell us please : 'Ispaar ya uspaar..' NO NO.. Uspaar only !!!
Welcome to the big wait....??:
Nope, interviews are not over yet, they are still going on in Hyderabad and also the international (Telephonic) interviews are supposed to be on till the 30th of Nov. Assuming that the adcom will require a week to collate all the results, the earliest we can expect our fate to be revealed will be around the 8th of December....

That was the best first PG post ever. Now is the time when nothing can distract you, even smoking hot babes π

Perfectly captured the mood dude. I think I am going a step further and googling all possible ISB blogs trying to absorb all the ISB gyan. My wife is getting bored of me because I am stuck in ISB blogs or PG looking for ISB updates and searching ISB videos on youtube. I know it will peak out somewhere and I will regain the balance.

"read the mails in spam folder"... that is so me !
first post on the forum and you have banged the nail on the head π
Well, 11 more days to go till the 8th of Dec. Here are some things to do to keep yourself occupied till then...
Google-up all ISB blogs and videos for ISB 'Trailers' (Neevol's idea). Check out eZone, Chroma etc. and shortlist on which laptop you want to buy. Start convincing your significant other that even though you might be surrounded by cool dudettes and dudes at ISB for a year, you will still continue to love her/him ;-) Sort out the contents of your closet and seperate the rags you want to take to ISB.(Guys, see if you have enough intact undies to last a week at ISB without a visit to the laundry. Also, you may need to stock-up on your 'lucky' colors too! ) Add up the balances in all your accounts to see how much you have and how much you need to beg/borrow/steal. (Reminds me, need to add up the coins that my wife has been saving up in the kitchen) Practice scenarios on how and when you will say 'thank you' or maybe 'futhre vu' to your boss.:bad-word: A round of spring cleaning around the house to get rid of things you dont need doesnt hurt either. Stop and offer prayers at every big and small temple or roadside shrine you come across (Who knows which of 7crore Gods/Godesses in the hindu pantheon have an inside track into the adcom :-) If you have enough leaves, take a week off and escape to a place where there is no internet. Close your eyes and imagine yourself at the ISB orientation session. Talk to your dog about how good ISB is and how much you want to go there... Because by now no one else will want to talk to you...
By the way, If you have trouble falling asleep at night, watch Saawariya. 30 mins of the movie is enough to knock you unconcious. Worked for me!
Dec 8th!!! thats reallly late yaar :( i dunno if i can survive till then.... i ve already lost the basic motivation/will power to work i was hoping that isb ll start giving admits from dec 1st atleast :satisfie:
anyway all the best to allll....hope all of us make it
Here are few more things that you people can do during this wait-period:
a) Sit in one corner, stare thru things and rewind thru those 20-30 minutes of your interview. Almost everytime you will curse yourself for not telling that one thing that would have blown the interviewer off his feet.
b) Start searching for all ISB blogs, chats and what-nots in google. You will know you have overdone this when you know for sure what the 11th page of the search is going to look like. Also, since the colour of the link changes once you have visited it, you may have to remove all history files so that the search looks like a brand new search(this is one way to cheat urself π ).
c) Go to Orkut and check out all ISB communities. Try to find somebody whose profile matches your profile. Feel good. Smile.
d) Practice makes one perfect. Create a dummy email account. Send ISB reject mails from this account to your primary email account. Open these mails with a smile. Act like a sponge. Suck in all the tension.
e) Last but not the least. Take ur car. Drive 50 miles from your city to some rural area. Enter a dense forest. And then.............................SHOUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT. CRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY. WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
Let me clarify, I just stumbled into this thread in PG. I am just an R2 applicant. My wait is for an interview call still. While I have your attention, what do you think are my chances of getting an interview call? Following is my profile:
