hi

my name is Sunny kumar aditya
i am a final year computer science student at CUSAT .
going to try my luk at cat this year
hope to do sm damage [ CAt]

Hi everyone! I have a query..
Im waitin for my graduation results.. am preparing for cat 2010 and dont want to go for masters.. is it ok if i just prepare for cat at home without going for studies/work.. will it be a negative point in my personal interview later?? i dont want any back-up option as such, just wanna know if the interview panel will see it as a waste of 1 year..

Please help !!

Hi bro, although you would ve an advantage in getting calls from some of the IIMs (this time, it was IIMI, IIML and IIMK) if u have experience, but if u r very sure of getting a call from any of the IIMs without experiencem then it won't be much of a problem. Yes, they will definitely ask u the reason for taking a break and not going for work, but if u introspect properly and if you are able to justify it to the panelists (talking about it to some people in Mock inetrviews and even informal interviews/discussions), it's not going to harm you.
All the above hold good provided u r not going by protectionists theory (having a job for decurity and all that), if u r determined to do and u work on it, u will definitely achieve it. All the very best.

Hi Sreedhar,
Good to know tha you are excited. This is the right time to start off (because you have enough time to prepare, but do not delay further). Do refer to "Quant for CAT 2010" thread and follow it religiously. For LR and DI, practice 5 sets of DI on Saturday and 5 sets of LR on Sunday; It's only then that you will know which are the tough sets, which are the easy ones, which shouldn;t be attempted at a cost of lot of time wasted which could've otherwise been used to solve other Quant/Verbal questions, which are the easy questions in a relatively very tough DI set and all that (the understanding of all this will save a lot of time and you will be in a better state to judge it at the time of exam which you would otherwise be unaware of despite natural aptitude). Also, purhase a good book of GMAT for preparing for the grammar related questions in verbal section. Also, let me know how comfortable u r at RCs and general reading, I will reply to u regarding that depending on ur competency. CAT has got more to do with solving what u know best and deciding which one to leave very quickly than with pure intelligence. Hope I was of some help to you.

Hi This is Lokesh,

Basically from eng back ground.

Currently working for an IT firm as a Softwr developer .I have been a developer for 30 months.

Now my ambition is to get into a top B school this year.

I have a lot of queries regarding MBA stuff..

To start with

I am looking into possibility of resigning and completly devoting myself into preparations for CAT 2010.

Now is it a right move.

Will it cause any hurdles in the PIS after clearing the written exams .

Seniors who have already faced such situations kindly help me out.

hi everyone,

I am Ashay. I am persuing my BE at MIT Manipal in the sixth semester Mechanical stream. I have started my CAT preparation few months back.
I am still in two minds whether to do my MBA immediately after my BE or work for two years and then do an MBA. I would like to receive suggestions that would help me take this important decision.

THANKS,
ASHAY

As long as you want to do MBA in India, work experience is not a parameter. Although if u have work ex, u may be rewarded a little, but you can do well without it as well.

Hi Vasavi,
Good to know that you are open to both kinds of learnings. What you can do is, start accessing the threads available at pagalguy.com/forum and start working diligently, the beauty of most of these threads is that they are not like other threads where you get bored after reading for some time, you will see people being active participants in these threads all through the day. Following these threads will give you lots of knowledge and pointers to all your grey areas, you can also contribute to these discussions whenver you feel like doing. Happy learning, I am sure all the puys would be more than helpful.

hi sunny. wll u be preparing from cochin? i was lookin 4 study partners frm Trivandrum. As far as inflicting some damage on CAT goes, i believe a combined assault works better.
