I have a work ex of around 2.5 yrs in advertising and event management.
would be applying for cat and other related exams for the second time.
hoping for the best and keeping my fingers crossed.

i seen lot of them posting their CAT score here....which even shows that CAT 09 - 96%..but not selected for anyoff the IIM's:-(.....
now am really worried...i dont have any work experience...as well as am badly in need of some top college to do my mba....am preparing for CAT..XAT ..SNAP and all
....but will you plz let me know how much is the cut off for most off the top notched college in india....and can i really able to make up:-(....CAT 96% still not in IIM's s thats something which gives me heart attack
....i dont mind doing MBA from any of the top college anywhere in india...i scored 78% in ma graduation...so plz..plz...let me know....i heard alliance in bangalore and bhartidasa in thiruchirapalli s good...is it???

One sincere advice from my side... Dont choke yourself by setting sky high expectations from the beginning.. If it doesnt materialize , then u will feel devastated.. I am sayin based on my personal experience.. Progress step by step...
Say set a goal that today i will finish this quant problem in less than 2 mins.. and working on ur basics ur next goal..etc

Hi Friends...I am very much glad to introduce me at PG....by the way I am a 2008 passed out from annauniversity,chennai.......currently working at L&T; having around 2 years of workex......already appeared for cat 2009 with no preparation...got really depressed....
got only 74.XX per.......
anyway ....hope for cat 2010...also this time planning to take some other MBA exams like XAT,SPJain...

This is Abhijeet. I have just completed my BE from MIT, Manipal University with a modest cgpa of just above 6. I had 66% marks in 12th and 82% in 10th. I am planning to do job for at least a year or two and then go for MBA. I do know that I have to really work hard if I have to get into an elite college specially in the DI section. I have some command on English and quant. But I am really in a fix about what to do now because I am willing to do as much hard work as possible but I also realize that just doing hard work is not enough. Should I give my full concentration on CAT and various exams from now onwards or should I go for the job...?? I see getting into an elite B-School as my last chance to redeem myself and to compensate for the sins that I have committed academically in my BE years. Any guidance is appreciated.

PG is the best site for mba preparation...the posts are very helpful..
the way PG has provided a platform to the student community to gather and share information is really commendable...

QQAD is an effort of individuals on PG who are working out of there passion for quant. Many have this misconception that we get paid for providing these services. QQAD team has only 2 people and yes we have been extremely busy ever since we started QQAD this season. DI is not within our scope as of now mainly due to bandwidth issues.

Abhijeet, my suggestion is, first you secure a job for yourself and in the mean while you start preparing for CAT. Job experience will give you an extra edge over other. If you think you need more than self practice then enroll yourself to any coaching institute like IMS,TIME,CL......there are many. So keep going......

Hi everyone! I have a query..Im waitin for my graduation results.. am preparing for cat 2010 and dont want to go for masters.. is it ok if i just prepare for cat at home without going for studies/work.. will it be a negative point in my personal interview later?? i dont want any back-up option as such, just wanna know if the interview panel will see it as a waste of 1 year..

taking a drop always leaves a negative impact...so,in my opinion,search for a job.
it will give you the following advantages:-
1.MBA was initially meant for working professionals who wanted to learn the nitty - gritty of management.although now freshers can apply for all these courses,people who have prior work-ex are given preference.
2.you will get additional marks in gd-pi if you hav work-ex.
3.after your mba,the quality of your placement depends upon your college and the quality of your prior work-ex.
so just try to get a gud job ASAP.
that is my take on the issue,so take it with a pinch of salt.

hey kartikeyan..even i have applied to nse for ncfm.and m too in a fix because these people hav not sent me the study module yet.now the prob is how do i book my exam slot without even getting the module?
or is it sumthng lyk we hav to book our slot first and then these people will send the module?
though i've got their acknowledgement message that they hav received my form.
