Institute of Actuaries of India-Actuarial Common Entrance Test (ACET)

HiWhat is minimum marks for passing ACET ? I have given test on 4th Dec
I totally agree with cj1093. Stop asking such silly questions. What is the minimum passing criteria in any competitive exam. No body can answer that beforehand. While registering for ACET what were you doing? And seriously with that level of IQ do you seriously believe to clear Actuary even if you clear ACET.

Each one of us here wants to help others. But that doesn't mean you can ask ridiculous questions.
@Blu_Dragon :- yup bro, thanks a lot..
@Blu_Dragon ridiculous and the same type of questions....some people wil b like please send the links of the materials to the email id and etc etc...wht bullshit...cant they read in the actuary website that its illegal to do so...
@cj1093 @Blu_Dragon : chill guys. I think people have got our message very well. Lets not get into the heated discussion anymore. After all, we can only express through posts. The PC keyboards are still at the hands of such people who keep on asking repetitive questions. Lets focus on better and more important things that could be coming up now :)
@Blu_Dragon : By the way how much time had you put for CT3 exam preparation this time?

Results of ACET normally come at what tym on the expected date?

Can anyone help me?

I have 5 years of experience in IT sector and 2 years in Banking sector. Will ACET exam help me or will it catch any good weight to my career. I have graduated in Maths.

Help would be expected soon,....

@RekhaACET :: I dont think it would add any weightage to ur profile . Give ACET only when u r really interested in pursuing actuarial science .
@shrikantmishr : there is no fixed time as such .
@RekhaACET : Rekha look, this course mostly comprises Statistics and Probability and also some algebra concepts and subsequently their advanced applications. Do you like such subjects? If yes, then take your chances. Go through the question papers available on UK and Indian actuaries websites. If you think you can do it, then go for it. After all you can never completely know yourself, unless you give a chance to yourself.

Thanks Guys.

I like Maths and I will pursue Actuarial Science.

hi all,
below i have written what i have understood fro the actuarial website as to how to become an actuarist
please do correct if any misconceptions
1.you apply and clear acet
2.after clearing you become the member of actuarial society
3.clear the 15 or so subjects(interested in) and then become an actuarist

have i missed something ??

thank you

@spy007 ..??
@RekhaACET Its not like it will add weight to your career..rather it is a field that is entirely different from your IT field. Imagine urself clearing 4-5 papers and applying for a job with your IT experience. Will ur experience carry weight or will ur papers carry weight for an IT job.
NO!!!
So I would suggest you to take up ACET and actuary course only after a deep thought of ur ambitions and passion. Try going through internet and various actuarial posts and blog before choosing the field because once u go for this course, u will have to donate ur leisure time to studies for at least whole CT series.
Finally, the decision is yours. Choose wisely!!!

I had known this paper very well before hand as my 6th paper and also a pass subject in statistics. I put in 1.5 months of good effort. I wasted lot of time this time. But if you are not familiar with the subject earlier it should take about 3 months for real solid preparartion taking into account that you put in 2-2.5 hrs daily and more in the weekends. But it really depends on your own capability. And do solve last 5 yrs, otherwise you are never ready for exam no matter how well you prepare.

you are ri8.
went thru the thread...strange to find some people terming others' query as 'silly'...In fact, they themselves are more senseless than the people asking such query...
Guys...can't u understand that such query are only indicative of curiosity, if at all anything?
Stop ridiculing fellow aspirant in such a manner...and if u can't undstand that such are 'curious' questions, then probably u dont have enough intellect urself to pass the course..
.
Moreover, what is the purpose of such a forum? If someone knew all the detail beforehand, should s/he come here to get it attested by such 'alec-smarts'??? The forum is just for sharing experience/assumptions/expectations etc.. and it's not expected to be like an authority to give precise info. So stop sounding 'self-proclaimed' intellectuals and start showing some respect to fellow aspirants !

whoever that person is commenting above...whtver ur supposed to ask,it should b reasonable questions ...not like chumma some idiotic questions which u term it as CURIOUS.....all the questions which is asked by UR SO CALLED FELLOW ASPIRANTS r already answered in earlier threads itself...all they need is patience to go through the threads and their doubts r cleared....chumma ask some question and then expect to get a answer asap...bullshit...even before i started with this course, i researched a lot abt it, went through earlier threads and then asked reasonable questions..and u MR ambitious chap , u got to no idea how crap it is...the forum is getting filled by stupid questions..this forum is meant to be proper discussion area...i hope u get the picture clearly..
