@swapnil0768
You can do actuary, if yoy pass the ACET. You just need to have english as a plus 2 subject. But you are extremely right in saying that companies give preference to math/stat/economics degree holders. So there will be problem in finding jobs INITIALLY.

But if you can somehow get a first job in actuary field or say finance field it can be done away with. Needless to mention your CV would look very strong as you keep on passing papers. My suggestion to you to get into investment job and then specialize in actuary( investment ) field. Take CFA as well and then force your way in Actuarial Investment. This is my own target as well. The syllabus of CFA is nothing in dept as compared to actuary. So if you have cleared CT3, CT7, CT8, CT1 and CT2 you are already BAAP of CFA. There is nothing more to read. You just need to have passport and clear all three CFA levels

If you are confident in maths go for it but for your case think actuary as a long term plan. Needeless to mention that investment is highest paid sector in Insurance after Actuary. And if you are CFA+ Actuary(Investment), your salary will definitely have 7 significant zero's. Go for it bro.
@Blu_Dragon hey bro r u pursuing FRM too?
@swapnil0768 As you said you are not from maths background then it may not be easy for you.
before deciding your career as an actuary try reading ACET STAT and FAC. If you are comfortable with the material then only proceed.
@volintine not now but will give in Dec 2013. And not FRM but CFA. Will think about FRM later. By december my plan is clear 3 CT series paper.

Happy Diwali to everyone guys (though we have exam in few days now both for ACET takers and those who have passed ACET )

@Blu_Dragon happy diwali to yo.Best of luck for your exams.
