let me elaborate and put an end to this discussion
well, the term 'level' is just used to refer to the floor number in infy ... example : ground floor is level 0 , first floor is level 1 , third floor is level 3 etc etc...
those who said level 3 is project ... my frn, it depends from dc to dc... suppose, in my dc..project is going on at 3rd floor.. we say that level 3 is the level at which project is there ... it varies from dc to dc ... if bench people have cubicles at first floor, we say that level 1 is for bench people... it varies from dc to dc and there is no hardcore rule for this!!
coming to the post and responsibilities indicated by 'level' ... this is totally wrong info among people.... infy follows the 'band nomenclature' to indicate responsibilities of a person ... we are now, following iRace system for the same , but 'band' is the term still used for job and responsibilities...
it's a request to all for not spreading wrong info about the use of word 'level' ... :)

@Vision Bhai :this time i feel u have got it wrongits true earlier we are having bands but as u say they are now replaced by levelslevel:3 this is the entry level for a system engineer(fresher)with experience u will be shifting to levels 4 ,5 .....so the level ,which is given in the offer letters corresponds to this

I had appeared for Infosys interview at mumbai on 23rd Jan for experience professional. I cleared the first technical round and I have been asked to wait for HR round. Then HR came and told me that she would get back to me in 8-10 days. It's 10 days now but I have not heard anything from them. Could you tell me what is the procedure and now when will I hear from them?

Hi dude,it might be true that client projects are called level 3(i am from E&R; dept,so no idea abt that)but this doubt started with with new joinees in the company being offered a level3 on joining...which is the starting level for freshers(earlier it use to be band B for B.tech/BE joinees)so even though what u are saying might be true,it doesn't fit the context
Hi See in my case my interview was on 22nd Dec,2007 and the results were declared the same day....but i got my offer letter in mid Feb 2008.As far as the procedure is concerned it is perfectly normal that they may extend even beyond 15 days before declaring the result....you will receive your offer letter in around march or so and joining would most probably be from june to aug....However u will get a months time before ur joining date to do all ur preparations..... and dont worry I am sure u will be in.All the best.

First of all this is the thread to discuss issues related to Infosys and not for discussing questions, interview questions, etc. So, please PM someone or find a thread for the same.
Don't bother about these interview questions. All the questions in the interview are not to be answered correctly or rather they don't have the correct answer. These questions are to test your integrity and how you handle weird situations. So, think with an open mind and answer. There is no fixed answer to such questions. For eg You may answer the question that you came across in terms of hierarchy or you may say by hard and sincere work. These are just an examples. You can answer anything you think is correct; just be calm and composed.

call letter takes few months to reach us 😃 .... as far as working environment is concerned , its good ( infy has been awarded no.1 employer of the country ) so you can be assured of best working environment when compared to other companies..... apart from this, living experience at mysore is not less than living in heaven
Coming to working experience ... it is something subjective which will vary from person to person.. .so, its good not to discuss it ! There are many who are very happy with their experience and also , there are many who are not at all happy.
Still , i would say don't come with too many expectations... because, however good any company be, it can never be 100% upto your expectations.... but, one thing is for sure... to start a career as an IT Professional , Infy is best coz you can learn a lot here in technical as well as soft skills part!
Just try to get placed in some other company, If possible. Infy is good only in PR and maintaning good image in media and public. When NRN and Nandan were at helm, there were every reasons to join this compnay, but now this company is managed by morons who don't have any clue how to manage 1 laks employees.
I'm working with Infy for past 5 years and believe me guys till 2007 it was place to work but from then it has only gone downwards...I'm also planning to exit from this god forsaken place...I can't post you the link of Infy internal HRD blog, but you will be shocked to see the number of employees miffed and suffocated by company's nonsensical policies. I sometime wonder what made me to stay in this company for such a long time, reason is I always got a fabulous and intellectual team to work with...but now every one is so frustrated and many of my good friends have decided to bid adieu...
Don't get fooled by all these so called survey which ranked Infy as the best place to work for, above companies like google and MS...do some research, talk to ppl before you join here...always better to take informed decision

Welcome to the world of IT.Infosys is a wonderful IT firm to get into after graduation. So cheers, you hit the right place, bang on.Now,Let me brief you on life at infosys.
Training: Mysore : Training, as people say is not really hectic.If you are an obedient listener, a 9-5 class room session and a 1 hour revision would be more than sufficient to get a really good CGPA.(I am an example :D). You will enjoy a lot during your training days.The accommodation, group fun , and loads of other things.You may even end up finding a life partner, you neva know !! :cheers:
Production: When you are out of training,out in the world of IT development and production support then the real picture shows up.With due respect to VisionIIM-ACL, I completely disagree with him on terming Infosys as " THE BEST EMPLOYER of the year".It should not be even in the top 10 :|.One must trust their employees n should neva monitor them.This ain't school, where kids are monitored on what they do and where they go. and as VisionIIM-ACL quoted " I would not speak more on this".facilities and Infrastructure are international standard. No IT firm offers you betta facilities than infosys. Gym, Sports , Games, foreign Languages, dance, everything and anything and the list is endless ........
Final Word: Join Infosys, if you are a fatcha!! else , Enjoy your training days, you will meet people who will be with you for a lifetime.Not sure of the Production days as i had some bad experiences.
P.S: what eva the IT firm is , IT sucks bigtime.Use your brain else where if you have a choice.If you dont enjoy it :D P.S.S :Life is short, live life KING size !!! bhai, i am no one to term infy as number 1 ... following link says it ( could not find the link to exact survey .. it was conducted by a company in associatio with business today ).. and if you are aware, this survey's result has been there at sparsh as well as banners in DCs were put up as celebration for this.
One must trust their employees n should neva monitor them.This ain't school, where kids are monitored on what they do and where they go.
bhai, without monitoring how can a company whether small/big can work !!! We all want to become managers... do we expect from ourselves to not at all monitor the working of team under us ? No !! .. so, this is the thing which every company does!

It is so true...Trust me guys...What he said is true like anything. Only if you dont have any option..join this company....HRD blog....Man...2500 post within 3 days....NRN and NANDAN days were golden days of infosys and i vouch for it because i am in here from past 4.5 yr...and i can feel it all around the campus.
And this BT ranking is nothing but a crap and Money game....

Cant agree more, Infy is THE Company to start with ..so any factha can go ahead and join Infy as i mentioned in the earlier post.
p.s : I personally feel Infy will be awarded again this year for "BEST POLICIES".We get a mail every other day mentioning a new darn policy !!

i was also shocked to see the ratings.. infact, i was unaware of it... panel in IIFT gdpi told me about this :wow:

ibm is a great place to work in.. but, it has high rate of giving pink slips... they are also known for recruiting at the time of requirements and then showing pink slip when employee is not in proj for quite a sometime. My frns there told me about this :|
