Hi Nish,
First you need to understand that Infosys is a company and not your routine college, where you may come late and join. If you wish not to join on 28th of Jan, then you should request Infosys HR for postponement of your joining. Now, it will depend on the HR what later date they may offer you for joining.
If you don't join on 28th Jan and reach on 30th Jan without informing Infosys HR, you will not be allowed to join the current batch and may be sent back to your home town. Worst, you may lose the job.
If you are keen to attend the interviews for the company that you mentioned then you must inform your placement officer and also ask Infosys to extend your joining date.

send a mail to the HR of Mysore DC informing him that due to some reasons you wont be able to join on yur joining date, they will give you another joining date.. probably 15 or 30 days later...

dude74 Sayshey i got placed in infosys in december 2009 in campus recruitment .. does anyone know about the joining dates ?? when will they call us ??
Hi,
Have your received the final offer letter. If not, then wait for it. It will have all the details about your joining. December 2009 has just went. There is still sometime for you to finish your studies. Do it first. They will send you the offer once they have enough capacity to hold people to be placed in the training.
So, till then study well.
i have heard that there will be an increment for the freshers who have got placed during campus recruitement..??? and they will be getting around 3.75 instead of 3.25
is that true??

Since people are getting confused, I think that I will explain the level thing. Level indicate the hierarchy in an organisation. These levels define and describe the roles and the responsibilities of the person holding a post at a certain level.
I think this much is sufficient to have the basic understanding of what a level is at an organisation level.
edited ........!!
could not resist myself seeing the confusions related to a such a simple term " Level " used in infy ... let me elaborate
and put an end to this discussion
well, the term 'level' is just used to refer to the floor number in infy ... example : ground floor is level 0 , first floor is level 1 , third floor is level 3 etc etc...
those who said level 3 is project ... my frn, it depends from dc to dc... suppose, in my dc..project is going on at 3rd floor.. we say that level 3 is the level at which project is there ... it varies from dc to dc ... if bench people have cubicles at first floor, we say that level 1 is for bench people... it varies from dc to dc and there is no hardcore rule for this!!
coming to the post and responsibilities indicated by 'level' ... this is totally wrong info among people.... infy follows the 'band nomenclature' to indicate responsibilities of a person ... we are now, following iRace system for the same , but 'band' is the term still used for job and responsibilities...
it's a request to all for not spreading wrong info about the use of word 'level' ... :)
hope this post clears all the doubts.

That is the fact. In my post I had already said that we should not discuss the inside details of organisation and let the person join the company first. He will automatically come to know what is this all about.
I don't think Infosys mentions the details of the project in the offer or will mention the location where you have to sit in the offer. So, please stop giving the information that is useless and stop over-burdening yourself.

completely agree with you
@ freshers joining infy
your joining letter will just have date, time and venue of reporting ... join infy , enjoy training and once you get posted, you will come to know all minute details of various terminologies used for project etc ..
chill raho abhi yaar... the word 'project' , you won't find anywhere in your joining letter :)
ps : no more queries on projects will be entertained
@palak
please see that no more queries on project stuff are answered until and unless it is relevant one... and yea, thanks a lot for helping people with their queries regularly ... good job

welcome to infy dude....
answers to your queries

1. after completion of training, your package will increase depending on your performance... .. we can finish training at any of the 3 levels ( based on cgpa ).. and on this, depends our salary after training.
2. 16 weeks include weekends as well as other holidays
3. during training, for guys, inhand will vary from 14.5 - 15.5 k depending on what other paid facilities like gym etc. you subscribe for.... gals earn a bit more during training as their hostel charges are less....

Sorry dude .. no further discussion on those things will be entertained which are not relevant for freshers while joining infy.
Discussions on such things just lead to chaos and may lead to coming out of something which is internal to company. First join infy and later, we can discuss all these things officially 😃
