Both offers the same package.Heard Cordys mainly focusses on development, but having lack of brand name.I asked many in industry, but none of them know about it.Im being in a state of confusion to opt b/n the two.The people who are undergoing training say they feel cool there. But if i have to change the company after some years wont the brand name matter?Please help me by providing your suggestions.

obviously the brand name do matter.
and also look at the training facilities provided by both companies
if u feel the work profile is very attractive in cordys join it,or else join infy
I am in a dilemma here.
I am a fresher who recently joined Cisco as a Customer Support Engineer fixing network issues. I have an offer from Infosys too, The problem is Cisco is paying me twice of what Infy pays and it involves voice based technical support. I want to know what would be my chances 3 years from now, I have heard ppl who have experience in infy are regarded very high outside. But Cisco definitely has a better brand name if that alone is the concern.
I also want to do an MBA after 3 years or so, will my experience in Cisco count?
Please help.
with the very best performance appraisal and ratings, how much CTC/in-hand can a 3~4 yrs workex guy expect in Infosys ??? i mean if one takes the case of 2005~06 passout Btechs who joined infy right out of colg and are still continuing ???

there is nothing to worry about.it is not as tough as it is hyped
get in contact with those who are undergoing training now(u will get to know)
if u want to study before coming here
study RDBMS(relational data base management ) along with PL/SQL
c language along with file handling concepts
basics of object oriented programing concepts(in simple words core java)
these would suffice because these are the subjects which are taught in first 2 months,by the end of which u will be completely adapted to the training program

This might appear naive but can anybody tell me whether the training period in infosys is counted under work-ex by the b-schools in India?? 
As 7.5 months is hell lot of time not to be counted under work-ex..

last year some MBA grads(from IIT-Kharagpur) came to training along with us(B.tech grads
)their training is completely different from us
as far as i remember they had some 3 weeks of training in mysore,before moving to units(it might have changed now..i have no idea)
and joining dates, infy will generally let u know one month in advance before the joining date(atleast for B.tech grads)
i hope this info would be of some help to u, if not discard it

In the work experience certificate u get, the training would aslo be counted

now due to certain family reasons i cannot continue to work in infosys and is planning to leave it.
can any anyone tell me who much bond amount do i have to pay??
what procedure shud i follow for leaving the company.... shud i inform my pm or leave without telling anyone (which sm of my frnds did ).
plzzz help me out its urgent since m planning to leave within a week.

The procedure to quit is to apply through e-seperation ... you will find the link for same in webapps @ sparsh ... Bond amount which you need to pay will be informed to you by the e-seperation team ....Also, if you are working on some billable project, it is always good at one's part to inform PM so that he can find appropiate replacement for you !!
Those who will leave without intimating the company... will not be getting any authorized work ex certificate from infy and this will lead to all your time spent in infy futile.... so, it's good to leave any company you work for, by following the complete procedure!!

i have to leave the company urgently so i wont b able to serve the notice period which comes if i apply through e-separtion. also i dont want ny certificate frm infosys... does dat mean i still have to pay d bond amt

They would a court notice to ur home aftre 2/3 months claiming damage charges of some 60/70 K. I personally know two guys who have got those notices.
However they didn't pay anything till now n nothing happened.

Is it compulsory to have a 4-wheeler driving licence when joining?
The offer letter says that 'it would be to your advantage if you had a 4-W driving licence'.
A senior said that if even 1 document is missing at the time of joining then you are sent home permanently. Hence i am a bit worried.
Do reply soon since my joining is on 11th jan.

It is not compulasry to have any sort of driving licence while joining. I am about to complete 3 years here in Infy, and believe me, no one has ever asked me for my DL .
