Well its not all projects and accounts that have been affected with the downfall. while it is getting increasingly difficult to get new accounts and deals, the existing ones that have already been signed are going ahead as planned.
while on the one hand, i am hearing about ppl whose joining date is getting indefinitely postponed, on the other hand, im in an account which is pulling in people from the Mysore raining campus, as they need about 125 ppl for an upcoming project.

Yes, its true. Like in my account we are seeing ramp up and new faces keep flowing in. We still lack people and are in need for more.
Yes, agree we are facing problems in getting new projects but the already existing projects are growing well.
Well I'm from an ECU(also called a Horizontal unit, as we provide support to other Business Units or Verticals) of Infy and for the past few months, the recruitment scenario has been quiet. Quite a few folks are on bench right now, but they're slowly being absorbed into projects. Freshers would start trickling in around May-Jun I suppose, atleast for my unit.
Thanks buddy!! But I dont wanna disturb them..A rough idea will do..Just wanna make few plans..Thats all!!!!!
we cant not tell when your joining date will be. thats the reason why Palak gave you the address to contact. moreover, due to the slowdown of the US economy, a lot of candidates have been informed about their joining dates being postponed

I wont be able to comment on this. It would be better if you contact HR-Recruitment and ask your query directly to them. They should have thought some plans for your joining!!

Very difficult to predict man...I'm a tech trainer myself here...Usually training sessions for freshers start around May-June, July-to-Oct are the most hectic months: this is the time when most ppl join, and then a few inductions during Nov and Dec. Depends on which slot you've been put in.
Is it?? Joining dates are being postponed?? Can u pls elaborate a bit more on that?? Is there any possibility of cancellation of offer??
N thanks to all 3 of u...........
You know that US market is hit greatly by sub-prime crisis and its economy is heading down. Due to this there is a slowdown in market and companies there are reluctant in outsourcing as part of cost-cutting measures. So, Indian service sector companies like Infosys, etc are facing a tough situation. So, they are postponing the recruits and slowing down on recruitments.

Cancellation will reflect badly on company's reputation.....So, as far as I know about Infy, They won't cancel any offer....but delay a little bit more than what was initially told...If you really want to clear your doubts and make yourself mentally free.....visit the nearby infy campus, if not then call them up....An HR from Bangalore helped me with the same query of yours...u can contact him..i dropped a mail to him and he called me and discussed the issue....

I doubt cancellation but wait and watch!!!
No my dear friend. First of all,let me assure u that INFY will not cancel any offer which it had made previously. Rather they will delay the joining date or else they will call ppl in seperate groups. Now coming to the second point: Yes, IT companies are facing some problems because of US recession but not as hyped by ppl. IF that would have been the case how come all the 4 IT majors have posted huge profits for the past quarter. Companies are facing some problems and they are finding different ways to tackle with them and job cutting is not one of them in the agenda of INFY.

Hi Ujjwal,
First let me clarify nothing has been hyped here by people. It was just an explanation to why their joining has been delayed and this is the only reason.

by hyped, i don't think he means hyped by ppl out here. its ppl in general. infact i have faced a lot of questions by outsiders, who ask me what is Infy upto these days, considering the fact that they have no business!!!
Ok. I can understand. But better ask higher mgmt why us?
Because..For ppl who are waiting to join INFY,We(Infosions) are the source of information. And since higher mgmt will not come to this portal and will answer the queries posted by aspirants.it's our duty to give them whatever information we have.

Ujjwal I am not t talking abt people who come to this thread, I am talking abt people in general. And those who come here we try to help them as much as we can.
Yes there are pressures on top and botton lines and growth rate may not be as spectacular as it used to be. But folks, rest assured that there are enough contingency plans in place.
Effect on freshie joinings will be as minimal as possible.
Staggered joining is possible but there are other reasons for staggered joining apart from slowdown etc.
Infy has never gone back on a committed offer, even in 2001 when the slowdown was at its worst.
So, guys relax.. :)

PS: If there is a specific case, pass me on the candidate IDs and I can check them out for you.
