Hi,all
I am reading with interest all the post,my Generic training ends on 20 Dec(Long cycle batch)I have no clue what and where will be my next schedule???
Can some body enlighten me,please.

normally in the final few days of the compree training, they come out with batch allotment for the straem specific training and after that it would be a matter of few more days when u will be grilled again for the stream training.

well i might be shifted from finacle to enterprise solutions due to attendace shortage (wtf)

is it true that ES training is only in hyderabad

is ES better or worse than Finacle

and most important , do they have hostels for trainees in hyd or in other dcs like mysore

yes they do have hostels
but whether it wld be alloted to you depends on your luck

ES training for all my friends has been in Hyderabad, it cld be shifted, company policies are always unpredictable

ES is better or worse? well i don't know, maybe ES is better.

but trust me, all these things don't matter much once u get involved in your work. there are very good Verticals where ppl do horrible jobs, and so called boring verticals where ppl do interesting jobs. so its all on how u take it

Sharad will the batch allotment continue in Mysore or shifted to another Dev.centre(city)will there be hostel facilities in new Dev centre.

The stream specific training continues in Mysore only.
Only people getting ES will be shifted to Hyderabad.

there is a hostel in hyd also, but its of less capacity. So depends on ur luck.

the stream specific training will continue at the same DC where u had ur generic training.
yes, rooms wud be given definitely if u had one allotted to u while in generic.!

Hey guys !

I have received Joining date of Infosys for 24th DEC 07 . But I'm having a doubt about whether they will throw me out in verification or accept me .

The problem is ... though I have got my degree (provisional degree) after acquiring the prerequisite number of credits , I have 3 arrears left ( or 3 backlog ). I did not take the marks of these subjects into consideration while calculating my Btech aggregate percentage for my Infosys application . My percentage came out as 69.3 %. But considering the arrears the percentage falls down to 68.2 % .

Now should I mail the Infosys people regarding this or is it too late . Would it be a waste for me to go to Mysore on the reporting date ?

while u calculate your percentage, you can only take into consideration the marks u got in first attempt. so in that case 68.2 would be your actual percentage and not 69.3

what is the minimum cut off for your university? infy maintains various cutoffs for various universities. for VTU it was 65%, for Maharashtra university it was 60% and for Delhi university it was 70%. so depending on ur cut off, u decide if you will be thrown out or not. if u think you don't qualify, then its better to mail them rather than waste time going there and then be sent home

Bharath, it's only eight more days to go for Compre and i am preparing for it......

well for the NE (Bsc) batch- to which i belong to is said to have no salary compensation with respect to the CGPA, that's not bothering me much as my CGPA currently is around 3.8 before compre. well i am interested to know the other litigations that come in to picture with respect to the CGPA like any change in the post desigination or posting place or any thing like that.......

nope.
though there is a rumor that a person who has very good CGPA will be posted to a new DC, where there is demand for growth(of the DC), i've never seen any trend that substitutes the claim

how good is the infosys certification program ; can u take a few exams during ur training period also or is it only for people in production

Nah..one can't take certifications while s/he is training! one can definitely take both infy internal certifications as well as external domain certifications like LOMA( dese exams are industry specific) when one is in production..these al certis are counted in appraisal.

Bharath i have cleared the Generic Compre with an overall GPA above 4 and now i am in Chandigarh for my stream training, i couldn't inform u regarding this as there as no net access permission for us till today and most of the days we spent in the journey to Chandigarh and etc.,

our main stream training is going to begin from monday and i am going to have the training on java intially and then move on to oracle, it's being informed that we have to clear atleast one to avoid the termination and i am looking forward to improve my CGPA.
i am interested in knowing the information regarding the ES training and regarding the Stream training and the percentage we need to maintain and the way to approach it.

Hi Amaresh ...... finacle training is just for 4 mnths and not for 1 yr man ...have been in finacle for the last 2,5 yrs and heard no such thing 😛 .... so just chill

hey!!i will join infy this yr as a fresher..(2008 batch)..i have heard that there's a certificate bond or somethin of that sort at infy..so,assuming that i will join infy in july 2008,will i be able to join IIM'S next yr,that is,can i appear in CAT 2008??the process will start on june 2009 at IIM's n by then my bond period of 1 yr wont end..........so,will i be able to join IIM'S??

can i make myself clear??

you are really thinking way too beyond. you've got 3 iim calls, and you're thinking of taking CAT again next year. convert them buddy, think of these later. converting I,K and L is much easier than converting A,B and C. work hard and see ur self through.

yes Infosys does have a 1 year bond, so assuming that u have joined in July 2008, the bond will end in July 2009. classes in IIM's start in June, so by the time u join, ur bond would not have expired, so if they want they can charge u with separation fees. having said that, infosys is not so very strict with the bond. i know so many of my batch mates who during training have left the company in 3 months, and Infy did not trouble them. if in case u had any specific question u can certainly post them here.

thanks a lot for d information.......ya,i will definitely try to enter one of d iim's this yr,but u neva know........so,just thought of making future plans........actually,i got recruited by ibm also,but i prefer infy in all ways except d bond thing.......

so,u r saying that bond thing is not a big issue,even if it is,its only bout money,right??n not my certificates n all.......i can afford to pay some money but cant afford to lose my certificates..........

U need to submit the photocopy of your certificates at the time of joining. once submitted, the photocopy would be compared against the original and the original certificates would be returned to you.

infosys as a company is worried about people quitting infosys and joining another competitor. the company is actually not worried about people quitting for higher studies. so in case u show that u have an admit from IIM, and thats the reason for u to quit, i don't think they would stop you from leaving. even if they do, u will just have to pay some amount (Which can be upto a lakh) and leave. they wont keep ur certificates at any cost.

having said that, they have not asked a single rupee from my friends who quit within a period of 2 months, to join JBIMS
