i am in mysore now pursuing my generic training, i have completed two modules CHSSC and PT and to my surprise i have failed in both in my first attempt, CHSSC with 2 marks and PT with a big margin.
i dont know where it's going wrong, i have prepared very hard for both the exams but even then i am not able to pass the exams, i am feared about the future..........
give me some suggestion..........
Hmm.. chill dude, don't panic, even though its very important that you clear easy modules like CHSSC and AOA, you can very well make up for the loss in marks by scoring well in modules that have more weightage (SQL concepts) also, you need to clear 65% of the modules in a stream. in generic there are 8 modules, so you need to clear 5, to be eligible for the compre.
once u read from ur book always remember to try and solve previous papers at least once, almost 60% of the questions are repeated and the new ones are made on the same line. thats all the preparation you will need.
remember, INFY IS NOT THE END OF THE ROAD, THERE IS LIFE BEYOND IT TOO...

Hey sham, Adding to what Bharat has said, I know people who had failed in tests, re-tests, both compres and reached the stage of interviews and have come back and done well after going LIVE. So, don't panic. Analyse where you have gone wrong and give your best shot. And everything will be alright. Dont get distracted by Mysore Campus' ambience.
I gave the written test for infy on 07/10/2007 in Chennai(Michael's Academy). The HR round was on the next day(08/10/2007). HR round was pretty cool. The two HRs' who interviewed me told you will be getting a mail about the result within one month's time. But the real worry was waiting for us later. After all the formailites, we were told they will mail us about the result after 3-4 months. Some were even told that they will be intimated after 6 month's time. Can anyone advice me on this current scenario??. Has anyone experienced the same thing, if yes when were you intimated abt the results?? Pls advice.

i was told about my selection after 6 days, and it might take longer for some. so u might have to wait, but at the same time, dont sit idle, try for other openings in case ur out of college and wanting to get into a job

Hi Roger,
There is nothing to worry about this. It normally takes few days to few weeks for the results to come. Infosys sends rejection letters to the candidates and till that comes your chances are even. Anyways you can contact Infosys HR. You can find the address and telephone number in one of my posts in this thread.

Hi... Bharath... I would like to know what are the chances of our getting selected for company sponsored MBA/MS say after 2 years at Infosys.. I am the moderator of Infosys 2008 community on orkut and this question has been asked to me... From my side i want to ask what is the bond period after we complete the sponsored course...
Thx a lot Bharath and Palak. Appreciate ur help!!... But Palak will the HR answer me patiently, wont it make any hassles as far as the selection is concerned?? Just heard that if we call the HR's to know abt the results, it'll jeopardise the individual's selection, they might reject him/her coz of that action. Not sure whether this holds true. But just wanna confirm before i eventually take a leap.

Roger, you can call up the HR and it would have no affect on your selection. So relax. Moreover, i have the answer to your query- whatever time you've been told, please wait for that duration becoz these timelines were given to you as per some decisions by the company. All you need to do is just wait and you'll get the results. Your calling the HR won't hasten the announcement of results:)
I gave my Infosys interview 7 days ago in New Delhi , but I still havent been intimated about the result - whether Iv been selected or rejected . At the interview venue we were told that results would be emailed to us in 4-5 days but the tension is killing me . Should I call up the HR and enquire or is this a common trend ?

Thanx in anticipation
they generally give the results withing a weeks time. it can also take upto a month for it to be out. so u have to be patient, at the same time, keep trying for other openings or in case ur trying for MBA, then prepare for entrance exams of other colleges and ur GD/PI.

Till now i had five modules in which i have cleared four and i fluncked in PF, now i have got the hope that i can clear 5 out of 8 but i am tensed up regarding Compre as many of the FT batch who have completed earlier are saying that Compre is going to be tough and if we flunck in both ie., compre and re-compre we will be driven out of the company. I want some advice to prepare for the Compre........

compre has 2 section, the hands on and perception. hands on will include one program from C and one question from Oracle. since u said u flunked in PF, remember to put extra effort in C. the general rule is to maximize ur score in Hands on. though they are very strict with evaluation, a few basic guidelines followed ensures that u can score maximum. preparation of templates for functions, preparation of a menu driven program extra will help as in the exam u will just have to copy paste and make minor changes. u will also have to keep in mind commenting rules and coding standard. but all said and done, its the easiest to score. i got 49.25/50 in my generic hands on and that helped me a lot
perception is just like ur module test, but u have -ve marks here. so if ur unsure of an answer, leave it alone. sometimes perception is easy and at times it is tough so the uncertainty part can trouble a lot
Hi,all I am reading with interest all the post,my Generic training ends on 20 Dec(Long cycle batch)I have no clue what and where will be my next schedule??? Can some body enlighten me,please. Thanks Parsik

Bharath
Bharath we have got the negative marking concept even in our module exams that we are under going now which is making it tough for many to get there..........
at present i am undergoing RDBMS module which i feel is lot more about theory and a little bit of query's- easy if we put in the effort, Bharath i needed one advice regarding compre i.e., it's only aroung 20 days left now and we have 1 day for preperation for the compre after UNIX concept, so how good will it be to start the preperation for compre right from now??
i even wanted to kow the details regarding the perception test that we are going to have in the compre exam i.e, will the questions be asked all around from the all modules that we had or any selected one's??? i mean a brief description about compre......

the questions in compre will be from all the modules. infact there is a decided percentage of questions from each concept. that will give you an idea as to which module is important and so on. but its always good to give equal importance to all modules. sometimes we get easy questions from modules that have very little weightage and tough questions from important modules. so if you leave any chapter unattended, you might land in trouble.
and yeah, it is always good if u start preparation at the earliest. if u ask me "can i start preparation from tomorrow for an exam thats 20 days away?", i wld say, start right now!!!
