if you got placed during ur 7th sem then most probably u will get a letter of confirmation a couple of months after u completed ur engineering. which means u shld be getting ur date of join about 1 month from now. but always, its better to call the infy guys to get a clear picture of whats going on.
Can you tell me how long did it take for infosys to complete the background check for you.
I have no clue when they r going to get back to me, for the past 3-4 weeks it seems the background check is going on
well Niya, background check is something that they do with every candidate to make sure the details he/she has provided is right. if the size of batch recruited is large then the process might take some time.
in case of candidates recruited from India, the check happens once the candidate joins the campus. but i believe in ur case, the check will happen before u are sent to India, for obvious reasons.

yeah, that will be great cause anyways after joining u will have to sign a bond. and that will not let u quit the company for the next 1 year. so keep pushing the dates.

Be patient man. You are still in 6th sem and have been placed, so work hard with your studies and prepare for CAT and family of exams to get into a good B-school.
I am a science graduate and have completed my M.B.A from Symbiosis thru Distance Education.. I am Four and Half years of experience in Banking Industry and in addition to that for the past 6 months am working with I-Flex as a Functional Consultant. I was onsite for the past 3 months.. Now i would like try my chances in Infy.. So can u people tell me what r my chances of getting into Infy?? Would Infy recognise my M.B.A because i have done it in Correspondence.
no:neutral::neutral: i have been placed last year when i was in 6th sem....now i have passed out......and yet to get a joining...its been 2 months i am sitting at home and putting on weight..........no reply yet from infy....infact i had no plans for taking cat....was happy with infy placement...until infy gave dhoka.......

Actually Sri, if u didn't know, Infy is opening up a new campus in Mangalore and its an SEZ, they want to put lots of freshers in that campus and thus are in a recruiting spree.
i cant do much to help you out in Bangalore, u might have to send ur resume to Infy and then wait for their response.
Infy is a company with a lot of freshers. it spends a lot in training them and then posting them to various locations. you on the other hand is someone who is experienced, so from Infy point of view, a valuable resource. Thus, if ur resume is convincing enough, im sure u will get a call soon.

But academically he has somewhere around 52 - 53% right from his school till his M.B.A. Will this be a road block if he tries to join Infy?? Any Idea on this??

yes, u can do that. infact as a lateral, u can request the location of preference for u.
as for ur friend, i don't think it will be a road block. infy is particular with percentage for freshers, cause thats the only way they can judge the competency. if ur friend has work ex then that wld speak for itself.
Campus connect is an Infy initiative to train recruited candidates at College itself. Infy identifies some lectures from the corresponding college and gives them the curriculum. The candidates are trained on it, and then they have to appear for tests. the site that is present is for these campus connect students to access some information.
unless u are registers under this college campus connect, you cant access the site. i have told this to you before and i am telling you again, use these few days to do things u love. you will be busy during training.

Yes indeed many of my seniors have also advised me and to my friends to spend the time infront of training for enjoyment as we would rarely get it during training by heart.
And i am following the same thing to the most extent.
Bharath i would consider my self to be in the safer side if i brush up or get some knowledge of some topics before i get my head in to the training period.
i am interested to know the procedure of the training period in detail and the topics that mainly infy training constitutes, and the topics that i need to brush up in the mean time of serious enjoyment.

i believe i have told this to u once.
the entire course is divided into 2 parts. the generic and the stream the generic deals with basic concepts like SQL, oops, C, analysis of algorithms, client server concepts etc. and stream depends on which stream u are put into
there are 4 streams. Open system, Java, .Net and mainframes. each stream will have a different set of modules.
in every module, be stream or generic, there will be a test at the end, based on which u will be graded. after all modules are done u will have a compre. the compre is just like module tests except that they have -ve marks.
u have to clear minimum number of modules to be able to appear for the compre and if u flunk the compre u will have 1 re-attempt. thats basically it
