life in Infy can get a little rigorous during training.
the bowling alley, the swimming pool, the multiplex, wonderful hostel rooms, so many wonderful friends, jungle dhaba, Punjabi dhaba, Iceberg, and yeah little bit of studies will wreck ur time management.
so for the time being, take a break, and enjoy doing nothing. for once ur in Mysore, that will be one thing you will miss dearly.

and because u have asked, let me tell you.
On the 2nd day after joining, an ICICI guy wld walk into ur classroom and bore you with marketing stuff. and then bore you even more by asking you to fill a form, its different thing that i was sitting next to a babe, and she kept asking me this and that, what an opportunity!!!
now, that form is actually an account opening form.
they also hand out a Debit card that very moment, though it takes a good 10 days to be activated.
so Infy takes care of things, what did ya expect, no account so no salary?

Got thru as Associate consultant (Band C) at Hyd...will be joining in late nov, but have a couple of trivial queries though....the joining kit mentions a 4 wheeler license too...now is that mandatory?(I hope not!:wow:)
....and as for the bank account, i have a citibank account (since i work there currently), so hope its not compulsory to have all salaried accounts in icici!

As a part of the joining formalities, u will most likely be given an opportunity to open an ICICI savings bank account. you cld enquire them at that stage about using ur CITIBANK account as ur salary account.
but then again, whats the big deal in opening another savings account, unless you already have lots of accounts, that u forget ur bank names :D

if u leave the company u may have to pay back
1 50% of the salary
2 recruitment cost around 15000
3 the money for using computer terminal 250 per hour (wtf)
cant rem it exactly but could seniors enlighten about how much exactly do we have to pay back if we leave after say 4 month or 6 months or an year. if u take into accout computer terminal its 25000 per month for a computer atleast . i can buy one new pc per month with that much

i had one of my batch mates who left some 2 months after he joined.
though he said he has to pay some amount to Infy, i don't think he ultimately paid anything, though i have no concrete proof of this.
on an average, i believe if you are asked to pay, u might have to shell out atleast 50K, and if it is for an IIM, then how does it matter?
one of my friend spent some 75 grand on a flight ticket from US to attend the interviews of IIM's, and he ultimately got into IIMA

the test pattern is objective type, and you will have one test for every module completed.
the course is divided into 2 streams with about 7-8 modules in each stream. there is a minimum number of modules u need to clear to be eligible to take the stream exam, also called compre.
the compre is similar to the module tests, except that u have negative marking.

arrey nahin yaar, point is i already have a huge home loan against my Citibank account....will be a pain transferring the money from icici to Citi each month (MBA has taught me enough laziness u know)

i believe you shld be able to ask Infy to consider ur Citibank account as the Salary account.
else, u can give a standing instruction to ICICI bank guys to auto transfer money into ur Citibank account every month beginning

Also mentioned that accomodation details will be informed prior to three days of our joining. If i have to look for staying out side in some hostel, even then i need money.

Money wld be needed all thru the first month of ur stay, and unfortunately other than ICICI we don't have any other ATM's on campus. so you might have to get some cash along with you.
as for the hostels, we had accommodation for all the 5 months, so i have not much idea about the procedure. anyways, i don't think u have any doubt regarding it.

i told u many times, relax, seldom are things as important as they seem to you initially.
if i have got ur question right, then there are so many ways to ensure that u don't starve in the initial month. did u realize that there are other banks in Mysore too. all you need to do is take which ever ATM card u have and head to the city.
you may even borrow money from some friends and then repay him later.

Campus connect is an Infy initiative to train recruited candidates at College itself. Infy identifies some lectures from the corresponding college and gives them the curriculum. The candidates are trained on it, and then they have to appear for tests. the site that is present is for these campus connect students to access some information.

I cleared the interview for Infy-US and HR had contacted me for references and background check information. It's been 3 weeks and the HR says the background check, references and internal approval are still going on.
Any idea how long does it take for the completion of these processes by Infy in US.
