Today in the morning i called up Infy Bangalore but i couldn't get the appropriate reply as no HR was present at office. Tomorrow i vil mostly call up again.

Hi Bharat, I am trying to call Infosys Bangalore from past two hours but for my effort i have got an extension number to leave my message. But i am not able to understand the concept as after i am making a call and dialling the extension number the phone is ringing for some time and then a meassage is been heard saying that " if u have got some message, leave in the mail box or some personal or some thing and something and is asking me to press some keys and all.
can u please guide me in making a call as to leave the message where?
actually i would like to speak with hr directly, not to leave any message and wait for the reply latter.
as it's the same thing which is happening with my mails too...

The story is same. The system is asking me to leave the message in the box.
finally after trying for long time my call was forwaded to a female hr and she took my reference number and said that she would call me back but it's one hour past now and i haven't received any. we are not provided comps in our hostel rooms, and we are not allowed to get any Lappies too.
u cant get CD's to GEC, yes u can get them inside campus by declaring them. so that means u dont have any chance of trying our CD's in any comps in Mysore

It's 6 days past now and there has been no reply from infy through mail or phone, what should i do now?
Bharath if possible can u look in to the matter regarding the change in the post name after selection and is there any differnce shown, i mean some of the candidates are kept as Jr software engineers and some other in assistant sft Eng. Even in that some i am the only one.
I want to know only one thing is any difference shown? it's a request....

ppl are rejected for various reasons
1) if after joining they find out that u had written the infy test withing 9 months from writting ur first test
2) if they see that the marks u had submitted while attending the interview is more than the marks u have actually scored, and u fail to clear the cut off
3) if u dont have all the needed certificates with u.
4) if u dont clear the exams that they conduct as part of the training
take care of all the above 4 points and u dont have to worry of being rejected

hey Bharath, a good news today i received the mail regarding the query that sent to infy. And in reply it was mentioned that: u might have received the letter by now if not then u can collect it directly from infy on the date of joining.
I would like to get my reservation done for Mysore, in prior to the date of joining(8th) which day(date) would be a better option for me to get my reservation done?

if 8th is on a Monday, then u can join on either the Saturday or Sunday before it.

that shld be specified in ur offer letter.
i think i remember u telling me, that ur post is Asst Software engineer. that means u wld be 95% in development.
the reason why i have kept the margin of 5% is that, infy has a new Business unit called IVS. its all about testing. so after training if ur put into IVS, then ur work wld be more of testing related and less of development.
but other than that, ur post wont be changed from what has been mentioned in ur offer letter

Back after a long time.
Pertaining to the question, I would like to disagree. Infy hires Bsc grads for testing as an Asst Software Engineer. This way they are generating employment opportunities for BSc grads and also taking care of BEs and BTechs anguish for testing by not putting them in testing.
I don't understand why these engg. don't like testing though they would waste themselves doing a maintenance project for their life. Testing is also interesting and more interesting then making some changes to an already existing piece of code.
so u mean to say that Assistant Software engineer post it self is all about Testing in Infy.
Can u give me an exact picture about the turns and stops that we will have, if we have to choose in between Testing and Development. i mean the opportunites in future and the studies that we can go into etc.,

What ever may be the case i am considering my self lucky to begin my career with infy. Whether i would be placed in testing or in development side i am not bothered. As i believe that infy would give me the right post and placement with regard to my hard work.

Testing has tremendous future in IT. Every software needs to be tested before it is released, so It will always require testers and good testers will always be in demand.
I don't think that testing is that bad, rather it is great. You should be creative and destructive enough to find flaws in product so before it is rolled out it is Bug Free.
One thing more. Companies like Oracle, Adobe etc pay a fortune to really good testers. You can also move on to be a Quality Advisor. To add to this most of the people(not all) who switch from Infosys and the likes are recruited as QA and testers in companies like Adobe and all irrespective of whether they were in development, testing or maintenance.
