i attended infosys interview in march and got selected ....... at that time they told us a salary of 2.7lkhs...can anybody help me out with the latest infosys salary for freshers joining in 2008 as because i am again selected in tcs which is paying 3.2lkhs ...but i want to join infosys.

I heard that Infosys test pattern for Off Campus has been changed. Is it true? Can u guide on Infy test pattern and if any new sample papers availble will be great help.
I gave Infosys test on 3rd april 2007 and am selected...The test pattern was:
1st paper-Reasoning 30 que in 40 min.
2nd paper-English 40 que in 30 min.
But dont worry too much about it...CAT pattern keeps changing every year and they dont even reveal it b4 test...So just know that it wont affect your marks if you are good enough..

wat is the career in Infy .........How much an employee get increment in 1 year ??? There has been mentioned several job bands from F to A1.........Wat all stands for????? Right now they r going to pay me around 15,000 per month but I want to know that when I can touch this figure to aroud 30,000 per month.....They r not disclosing working hours........Will we have to work there more that's why they r not divulging regular working hours.....Wat is the usual working hours there????Any shifts
1) career in Infy is good, there a lot of parameters that go into deciding upon the career of an individual. and what suits you might not necessarily suit me. there might be a lot of ppl who dont like it, a lot of ppl who love it. but in the end, thats individual decision
2) job bands are what u get when u move up the corporate structure. A1 is the lowest A2 is the next, and engineers join in B, from there its C,D,E and F. F is the level of an Delivery manager or DM
3) to reach 30,000 u need atleast 2 years, cause u are joining as A2 band. B band guys can reach in 1 year. btw, salary is a very complicated question to explain dude. even i dont understand it completly.
4) company has a requirement that an employee has to put 8.75 hours of work. thats it. isnt that cool. it does not make a difference if u come at 12 and work till 10PM or at 6AM and work till 3PM. though sometimes when ur in a project ur PM might request you to come at 9AM everyday, which if u disobey, might show up in ur appraisal. then again, work is project related. if u have more work, then u might have to slog.
5) no shifts, but if ur project demands u to sit late, u might have to. then again, thats not shift work.
these are small issues dude. chill............ur world has not come crumbling down. everyone has these questions when they join.

Yes very true, its really complicated in here. your gross may look good. but there are various variable components which can make a diffrerence.

hey chill dude,
im a mechanical engineer too, and i was so bad at programming that i cld hardly code a simple logic in C programming.
partly it was cause i never concentrated on the programming classes we had while i was in college, and partly cause i never thought i wld need it in future.
well ur right in knowing that the training is tough, but its not impossible, as mechanical engineers we need to work hard, maybe put in much more effort that what needs to be put.
but then again, its all on how u manage ur time, party hard, but when ur studying don't waste time.
i shouldn't be saying this, but since all the computers in one class is connected to a network, u can play any multilayer games inside, but keep that to a limit.
its definitely possible,
if ur thinking of what concepts to know, then knowing a liottle bit of C programming, SQL concepts and if possible C++ concepts will be great

just to bring some hope, one of my friend who got terminated during training, is in Lehman brothers and another one is in SAP Labs. so its not the end of the world.
u can do a course on C,C++ and SQL fundamentals, thats the first thing they teach and also something using which u can build upon to learn any programming language.
btw, ur in the jun 25th batch right?
u must be in Mysore now, what course are u talking about??
As far as i know, infy does not kick ppl once they complete training. so job security is definitely good.

He also told me that the bond infraction penalty is 2 lakh Rs...........Is this right?????

I am currently undergoing training at Infosys. Believe me its not tough at all. I am from biotech background and knew almost zilch about programming but I could do pretty well in the first 3 module tests conducted. The educators keep telling us that ours is a very lucky batch because a lot of the topics which were thought to earlier batches have been removed for our batch. I think the course is simpler than what it was for u Bharat.

Sure enough thats what we do, play cs and nfs. Just concentrate for the 3 hrs between 9 and 12 on the lecture and the life is there to enjoy at Infosys Mysore

i dont think u can jump to development, although a lot of ppl stick to testing as they claim, testing provides them a wholesome knowledge on the domain they are working in.

hai bharath would like to correct u tht u get 4 leaves credited as earned leaves evry Quarter and the last Q its 3, so a total of 15 EL... :)
yup... so guys joining Infy Mys...njoy... its a experience of a life time...
also those aspiring for MBA can request the HR to postpone their date of joining... after the CAT...........coz once to get into training n all wont get time to study at all... also no certainty wwhere u will get posted n where u r gonna take the exam..
So Infy has always ask ppl aspiring for CAT to postpone there joining... rather than join n breaking the Contract (thts wat the HR says 😃 - they dont wanna call it bond) though i have known quite a few ppl from my batch leaving infy b4 1yr n njoying life in bliss in other cos n Mngmt instt...
