i dont know if it is appropriate to ask my query here but i m really confused and someone might help....
i have offers from infosys and tech mahindra...
i m not sure to join which of them...
infosys has a gud brand name, good training facilities but it is like an ocean and a fresher there would be like a tiny droplet...
on the other hand techm is a small but growing company and can provide good growth options...
puys, what do you say ??? which will be the better option ??
ctc of both is almost same....

generally the results are out by this time
1 month is the max they will take to select you

there have been instances where a person is selected and then the training notice is sent some 2 months later. but the selection itself is not kept waiting for this long.

some very silly and trivial queries regarding training , do oblige

1) do i need to carry my bedding or would it be providedI( i guess it would be provided)

2) how far away from mysore city is mydc ( dont really intend to go and enjoy the city life just asking cos i would be giving cat test series on weekends)

3)how much time does it take to reach mysore from bangalore ( which is more convenient bus or train)

4) what are the odds of me getting placed to a city of my choice after the 3 and a half months

5) what is the evaluation system like , do the top performers get some certificates and incentives

6) what are the chances of getting a better offer after the classrooom training of 3 and a half months from somewhere else

7) what exactly is this one year bond , is it that we are just not given a relieving certificate or we wont get our provident fund etc if we break the bond

you must have seen that ur gross is 18,000/-
this includes a TPI(Training Program Incentive) of some 2250/- which is paid at the end of training.
so during training ur gross is 15500/-

out of this 1500/- is deducted as hostel feel, so ur gross is 14000/-
tax deduction, PF, etc will give u at max 12000/- on hand.

Income details is something i have still not understood clearly in Infosys, and is one of the favourite subject that ppl have to talk inside campus.

anyway, if u have any question about what TPI is u can shoot it here

P.S- i realized this later on, but the figure i quoted of 18000/- is the amount we got when we had training. it has been revised recently,
though the deductions remain the same.
so u can do the calculation

people say the training at mysore is very hectic an all and also that
the rejection rate is high! how far is it true.


and i am very serious about doing an mba from a good indian
b-school.will i able to prepare for cat 2007 besides my training at mysore

pleaseee i need some advice on this!!

oh, thats good and bad. though i wont complain one little bit if the hostel fees is increased even to 2000 bucks, the rooms are royal. too much for a fresher who is just out of college to be hosted at.

training is busy, its all on u if u wish to make it hectic or a breeze.
basically if ur from any other branch other than comp sc or IS, they put u on long term batch, and once there u just need to learn some 7-8 diff programming language on a period of 4 months. thats something like 2 weeks per language.

definitely possible, but not if u fool around. which most likely u will cause the campus is awesome. a very dedicated person will find training easy
its not that rejection rate is high, its that infy does not think twice in kicking out someone who does not deserve a place in the company

no ways........keep ur MBA books packed for later use
during production yes, u can study
the diff being that, while on training u have some homework to do at ur rooms.
its not the same while ur in production

Although you have asked this question to bharath, but i am answering for myself. I have been working with infy for over 3 years. Regarding the happy part - well yes and no. It actually depends on many factors. The biggest factor in your Infy career will be your luck. It starts when you get allocated to a PU. Your PU, your project and your performance in the given conditions will determine your salary and career progression.

Again depends on your luck. you could be on bench which will you give you all the time in world to prepare or you could be slogging till 1 AM daily which will leave you with no time.

yes u can have anybody as ur room-mate
even if they decline in the beginning, u can move into another friend or ur friend can move into ur room when either of ur room-mates vacate.
atleast this was how it was when i was in Mysore.

I've been working for 16 months,
The company is awesome and the facilities that it offers are beyond what anybody can expect.
but then again there are things one can complain about
u've asked a very difficult question

yes u should be able to.
and it also depends on the location u get posted
i see that ur from chennai
what if ur posted to bangalore, then u might have to stay in a room.
and the travell might take up most of ur time
plus once ur working and get some money in ur account, ur interests start changing.
an onsite trip thats waiting for u, will give new hope
anyways, to keep it simple, YES U CAN STUDY

infy has aptitude test, thats it
how does it make a difference if the pattern has changed or otherwise.
just be prepared thats it. dont let such things bog u down

wat is the career in Infy .........How much an employee get increment in 1 year ??? There has been mentioned several job bands from F to A1.........Wat all stands for????? Right now they r going to pay me around 15,000 per month but I want to know that when I can touch this figure to aroud 30,000 per month.....They r not disclosing working hours........Will we have to work there more that's why they r not divulging regular working hours.....Wat is the usual working hours there????Any shifts
