i have a query regarding passport which have to be shown at the time of joining , are the passports returned to us or do infy ppl keep it with them ; and what if i dont get my passport by the joining date

showing the passport at the time of joining is not a compulsory formality.
infy does asks ur passport's photocopy so that it can put that in records.

if incase u dont have a passport, then they will intiate ur passport process. so u dont have to worry if u passport is not received by the time of joining.
just fill in the passport column, "applied"

i know maybe my query isn exactly pertinent to this forum totally maybe,though its related to infy.. the query i wanted to ask was whether infosys has changed their recruitment pattern for freshers,as in do they still ask puzzles or its changed to include ds,di etc.. also is the test online.. infosys will be coming to our campus in abt a week or even less.. so anyone who has attended the campus interview this year or has an idea as to whethr the pattern has changed,can you please inform me.. it will be a great help..

My joining date is 25th June @ Mysore. I plan to reach there on 24th. Will I be given accomdation on 24th itself.
Please help.

ur joining date is the date when the class begins,
so u will be given accomodation from 24th

infy training in mysore is great, though very hectic.
u will be made to study a lot in a very short duration. so be prepared for tht.

Since you are joining or plan to join Infy as lateral and not as a fresher, your marks dont come into pic, only your proj, skills, work ex.

the cutoff is Dependant on the university ur from.
Delhi university has a cutoff of 70%, VTU has 65% so on.

i dont know if it is appropriate to ask my query here but i m really confused and someone might help....
i have offers from infosys and tech mahindra...
i m not sure to join which of them...
infosys has a gud brand name, good training facilities but it is like an ocean and a fresher there would be like a tiny droplet...
on the other hand techm is a small but growing company and can provide good growth options...
puys, what do you say ??? which will be the better option ??
ctc of both is almost same....

I would advice you to join Tech M, as I have perosnally worked there.

Though nothing against the Infy, but TECH M has a great work culture and abundent chances. Its not a small company but a medium size one and has restricted itself to Telecom domain.

I learnt a lot and best thing is it really takes care of it employees.

Infy's best thing are the brand name and its HR practices. Nothing can beat them.

So decide and choose wisely.

Well, market value will depend on the knowledge and skills u have!!

Yes, you have to pay the money if you decide to leave else u wont get the service certifcate and relieving letter.

ALso, training is very good, but it more stringent than the one in Infy. If you work hard in trng, you will excel

A late reply but still I'll chip in.

Think of this way; if you want to try first and make a career out of your software job; then I would definitely ask you to go for TechM; as at the rate infy is growing; it's going to be very tough to grow fast; although tough yet possible. TechM will be a better option.

But if you are planning to go all steam for mngmt right from the starting year at work; and you plan to keep your work as a secondary backup option; then I would suggest you to choose Infy; mind you I have no idea about the work culture of TechM; but I know the same about Infosys; the bond is for one year; they appreciate and acknowledge people going for higher studies (be it MBA or MS); even if you get through a college within the first year at Infosys; it'll be easier to get a release from Infy. Check out what is the scenario at TechM.


Also if you plan to work for a few years and then go for management; then both are not bad; but Tech M would be a slightly better option basically in the sense that you could grow better there in the same period of time.

some very silly and trivial queries regarding training , do oblige

1) do i need to carry my bedding or would it be providedI( i guess it would be provided)

2) how far away from mysore city is mydc ( dont really intend to go and enjoy the city life just asking cos i would be giving cat test series on weekends)

3)how much time does it take to reach mysore from bangalore ( which is more convenient bus or train)

4) what are the odds of me getting placed to a city of my choice after the 3 and a half months

5) what is the evaluation system like , do the top performers get some certificates and incentives

6) what are the chances of getting a better offer after the classrooom training of 3 and a half months from somewhere else

7) what exactly is this one year bond , is it that we are just not given a relieving certificate or we wont get our provident fund etc if we break the bond
